Chapter 413 - A harmonious restaurant.

Xiao Tian was 19 years old this year. As he was not the healthiest of all, he hadn’t taken on any work since he had graduated junior high school. This would be his first job.

Hu Lizhu finished senior high school and worked as a temporary worker at a garment factory. She was neither an experienced nor a rookie worker.

Tong Xuelu then have Meng Qingqing and the others introduced themselves.

When everybody was done with their self-introduction, Tong Xuelu went on to say, “It is fate that we have the opportunity to become colleagues. Some of you are experienced workers and had done a good job previously. I hope that your work ethic will continue here.

“As for the new comers, even though I have no idea about your performance previously but, you are all Minister Lin’s relatives. Minister Lin is a very competent leader. As such, I trust that those referred by him would be very good as well.”

Everybody there was praised and they were all pleased.

Tong Xuelu suddenly slammed her hand on the table and said, “But, rules are still necessary. As you are working at this restaurant, you will follow my rules. Those who performs well will be rewarded and those who don’t will be punished. I don’t care whose relatives you are or how long you have been working here. You will all abide by the rules.”

All three of the new workers and the three old workers felt that that was very fair.

The new workers worried that Tong Xuelu would show favoritism toward the old workers as they had been working together for longer.

The old workers worried that Tong Xuelu would favor the new comers as they were all related with the higher ups. If that was the case, they would be very disappointed and disgruntled.

It would be best for everyone to follow the same set of rules. Nobody would be favored and nobody would receive any special treatment.

Tong Xuelu knew that she had done the right thing when she saw the looks on them.

When there are a lot of people, nothing could be worse than unfairness.

She would have to do her best to be fair from today forward.

Tong Xuelu turned toward Meng Qingqing and Guo Chunyu. “Qingqing, Chunyu, start training Lizhu. Answer all of her questions thoroughly and do your best in training her. Our grand opening is next week and I don’t want us to embarrass ourselves.”

Guo Chunyu smiled and said, “Don’t worry, Manager Tong. We will train Comrade Hu well!”

Hu Lizhu let out a sigh of relief when she heard that as well.

She had prepared herself for workplace politics before she started. Now that she saw how fair Manager Tong was and how nice her colleagues were, she felt that she might not have to worry about workplace politics after all.

Having said that, Tong Xuelu turned toward Chef Lei, “Chef Meng was still out for the time being. In addition to me, Xiao Guo had helped me a lot in the past as well. Why don’t you write down your recipes, Chef Lei, so we can integrate your dishes as well.”

Chef Lei nodded repeatedly. “Okay, let me give them some thoughts.”

Nothing was worse than being underutilized at a new restaurant.

With Tong Xuelu being the chef herself, Lei Dayung had worried that she would have a point to make.

It would seem that he had overthought things.

Everyone was pleased after the meeting was adjourned.

Tong Xuelu was still going to bring Guo Weiping with her for her daily market run. But she had also said that she would bring Xiao Tian with her the next day and the two of them would rotate from this point forward.

Xiao Tian was so emotional that his face turned red when he heard that.

Xiao Tian was Chef Lei’s new disciple. He was very happy Manager Tong valued his disciple.

Tong Xuelu sighed secretly after she had stepped out of the restaurant.

It wasn’t easy to be fair. That being said, she would rather everyone get along in harmony than always scheming against each other.
