Chatper 2417Lily's heart and mind raced as she ran. Since she had come from the laboratory, she knew Yasmin was
not there. The latter could not have brought Nick away so abruptly and secretively just to talk to him,
either.
Since Yasmin was eager for the experiment, she would not just need Nick. Fred would be there, too. As
the queen kept this from Lily and Rhea, the older woman would also need the doctors who were
present the other day.
Therefore, it was evident that Yasmin intended to proceed with the experiment without telling Lily about
it.
'Has she lost her mind?! Why would she do it knowing it'll fail?!'
Lily pressed the floor button multiple times, wishing the elevator would move faster. To her surprise, the
button to the floor where Fred was did not light up. It stayed that way no matter how many times she
pressed it.
'Is it locked?'
Lily knew nothing was wrong with the elevator. After all, it should not have been able to reach other
floors if there were. It was evident access to that floor was unavailable. However, it also proved Lily's
suspicions to be true.
"It won't work." Rhea neared and snorted. "You're trying to get to that floor, right? For your information,
it's locked. I tried the stairs just now, but there are guards everywhere, so it's impossible to get past
them.
"She purposely kept this from us, didn't she? I wonder how long it's been since they started the
experiment. Perhaps it's over by now. Even if we can go there, it'll be too late."Rhea sighed and added, "What a pity."
She was sorry she could not see how the experiment went. Regardless of the outcome, she thought it
was a great experiment and had looked forward to it for a long time.
Rhea shook her head and said regretfully, “Her Majesty could have just kept it from you. I've always
been supportive of the experiment, after all.”
Lily glanced at her casually and went around her to head away.
Rhea watched her approach the stairwell and said, "Hey, I told you the guards stopped me there. How
do you expect to get past them?"
As Lily ignored her, she stormed off in a fit. Rhea entered the elevator and touched the button.
However, she changed her mind and hurried out instead of pressing it. By the time she reached the
stairwell, Lily had already disappeared.
'She's fast, huh?'
Rhea sneered and walked downstairs to where Fred was supposed to be. She wanted to see how the
guards would turn Lily away and then gloat about it. Although Rhea moved fast, she did not see Lily
even after reaching that floor.
When Rhea pushed the door open, guards barred her way. "Halt!"
The guard looked at her up and down, saying, "It's you again!"
