“Got it! I understand!” Nathaniel nodded fervently.
Satisfied, Damian opened the door and left the office. Nathaniel’s smile faded slowly as he watched the
door shut, his expression becoming unreadable.
‘This brat is quite cautious! He doesn't trust me completely yet, and there are still things he’s keeping
from me! However, that scheming mind of his is nothing to me! The Tanner Family will be under my
control one day! '
“Mom, aren't you bored with staying at home all day? You should get out of the house and enjoy life
more often. There will be an auction in a few days, so why don’t I bring you there? You can buy a few
things you like.” Arianna chatted with her mother while they shopped in a store selling luxury goods.
Eloise’s expression was much gloomier. In the past, she could make decisions because everything was
still under control.
Recently though, she felt her husband was growing increasingly distant from her.
Joseph would always return home at night, no matter what.
However, he was rarely home in the last two weeks, obviously with his mistress to keep him company
out there. When Eloise thought about having to see Damian occasionally at home and that she could
do nothing about it, she grew even more stressed.
“What's the point of buying them if I can’t keep them in the end?” Eloise sighed, her fingertips brushing
across the material of the clothes. She was not in the mood to shop at all.
"Mom, don’t be like that!” Arianna turned around and held Eloise's hand lightly. “You're not acting like
the mom I know. My mom has always been confident and charming! Why wouldn't you be able to keep
them? You were the best actress of your time, and you're still as beautiful as you once were! ”
Eloise smiled helplessly. "There's no such thing. I’m just an old lady now.”
“Hello...” A timid voice sounded beside them. "E-Excuse me, are you Ms. Neville? The best actress,
Ms. Eloise Neville?”
It was a lady donned in the clothes of a salesperson. She had a tiny notebook and a pen in her hand,
and she was looking at
Eloise with both nervousness and excitement. It seemed that she was expecting Eloise’s answer.
When Eloise nodded, she almost jumped in happiness. “It's you! It really is you! Oh my God, I'm so
happy! I'm sorry for being rude, but I’m your fan! I like you a lot, and I've always felt that it was a pity
that you retired from the industry so early. I didn’t think that I could meet you here! Could I get an
autograph?” The lady held onto her notebook tightly, looking like any other fan would when they met
their idols.
“Sure.” Eloise nodded and signed the book for her. It had been a long time since she last gave anyone
her autograph, and she felt slightly unfamiliar doing it again. The pen paused on the paper for a
moment before she returned the book to the lady.
The lady thanked her repeatedly and then ran off to show off the autograph to her friends.
Arianna averted her gaze, smiling as she looked at her mother.
" See? You're still as charming as ever, and you still have many fans! ”
Eloise threw her daughter a sideway glance and shook her head.
"Do you think your little plan is enough to comfort me?”
