Alexander said mockingly, "It’s up to you whether or not to listen.I’m just giving you some advice out of

Alexander asked Lily after he was done talking.
Alexander turned to her as his gaze landed on her gently.His attention was solely on her, and he did
not care to look around him.
It was as if nothing else mattered but her.
There was no more reason for Lily to continue staying here.
Alexander's presence proved to Nathaniel that she would not return to him better than any explanation
or rejection.
From Nathaniel’s expression, Lily could tell he got a rude awakening.

Alexander placed his coat over her and left while ignoring Nathaniel, who was still stunned.
After taking a few steps, Alexander suddenly remembered something and turned around.
"By the way, at least have the decency of footing the bill.After all, you're the one who invited Lily out,
right?"
Lily was surprised when Alexander turned back because she thought he had something important to
say to Nathaniel.
Lily almost burst out laughing when she heard what Alexander said instead.She tried hard to hold in
her laughter until they got downstairs.
Alexander glanced at her and said, "Just laugh if you want to."

"My appearance delighted you that much, huh?"
Alexander asked gently, "If I knew you'd be this happy, I would’ve appeared sooner, or maybe I should
do that next time?"
Lily shook her head, "I thought you’d pay for the meal instead."
She knew that Alexander was a generous person and paying for that meal was nothing to him.
"He was the one who asked you out, so why should I pay? He should be grateful that I did not order
anything else," Alexander smirked.
Alexander was right, and Lily chuckled as she thought of the look on Nathaniel's face when he had to
pay the bill.
Alexander knew exactly how to tick people off.
"What was that about Melanie’s case? I thought you said you didn’t have anything to do with it?" Lily
asked, looking at him with an ‘I know you were involved’ look.
