The two were being lovey–dovey with each other, completely forgetting there were still people around
them.
Noah could no longer tolerate it, so he stepped forward and stood before them. “Mr. Russell, I know
you’re arbitrary, but I’d advise you to think twice about this matter. Do you think La Beauté Group is
invincible?
“As long as she’s still a perfumer working in this industry, there will always be rules and regulations
restricting her every action.”
His words repelled Lily. Just as she was about to retort, Alexander stopped her, and she soon heard his
voice, “She’s a perfumer because that’s her passion. If the day when she doesn’t want to be a
perfumer anymore comes, I can take care of my woman without her needing to work.
“She can be a perfumer as long as she likes her job, and La Beauté Group will always support her.” He
threw Noah a sideways glance and walked forward with Lily, who was still in his arm. Alexander
continued when they were next to Noah, “La Beauté Group isn’t invincible, but the same goes for you.”
Then they left, not giving Noah a chance to refute. The latter was speechless. He was outraged, but
Lily felt the opposite; she was satisfied by the encounter. She had finally released the anger she had
been holding in over the past two days.
She felt that Alexander’s last words to Noah were cool. Lily stared right at him, thinking this man was
more charming the more she looked at him.
“Why are you staring at me?” Alexander asked, unable to hold the question in any longer. It was difficult
for him to ignore her intense stare.
“You were so cool just now!” she praised him directly.
However, Alexander was dissatisfied with her words. He turned around to block her path and stared
into her eyes. “Only just now?”
“O–of course…” Although they had a close relationship, Lily’s heart would still skip a beat. whenever
her husband stared at her this way. “Of course, not just earlier. You’ve always been cool!”
The quick change in Lily’s words made Alexander smirk. He loved how she looked when she was shy,
so he lowered his head and moved closer to her lips. Just as their lips were about to touch, she pushed
him away. “Get in the car!”
Edward was already waiting for them in the car parked not far ahead. As Alexander’s plan came to a
screeching halt, he felt unhappy and refused to let go of Lily. A hint of resentment flashed in his gaze
as well. “You’re trying to escape again, huh?”
“I…” Lily could not defend herself. “When did I ever tease you?” She was sure she had not done
anything to provoke him.
“You’re not going to admit it?” Alexander closed the distance between their heads and pulled her body
closer to him. They had only been apart for a few days, but he had missed her very
much.
Lily could feel his excitement which made her cheeks turn red instantly. She tried to remind him in a low
voice, “We’re in public!”
Since Edward had already gotten out of the car, Lily became even more uncomfortable and pushed
Alexander hard on his chest.
“So what? Are there any laws that forbid a married couple from kissing on the streets? Are there?”
“Stop messing around!” Lily said through gritted teeth. At this moment, she suddenly wanted to step on
his foot so he would keep his mouth shut.
“Mr. Russell!” Edward called out and rushed over. He knew it was an inappropriate time to interrupt, but
there was something urgent he needed to report to Alexander.
As expected, Alexander’s expression instantly turned dark because he got repeatedly interrupted. He
did not turn around, his back facing Edward, as he said, “What is it?”
It was a simple question, but one could tell he was pissed off. Edward was used to it after working for
Alexander for many years, but he seemed to be in a tough spot and threw Lily a hesitant glance.
Lily did not know what that was for. Seeing that her gaze was unusual, Alexander finally turned around.
When he saw Edward’s expression, he knew it was probably about something difficult to bring up.
