La Beaute Group's public relations team moved fast. In just two days, they had appeased most of the
consumers and remedied the negative impacts on the company. However, Lily would need to attend
the press conference in person.
Nathaniel was sitting in his office, looking at the data while his fingers tapped gently on the tabletop.
Although he was displeased, he had to admit that La Beaute Group was highly efficient. The response
speed and method used in handling crises were much better than that of MN Inc.
Abig company would have a professional team to handle such matters. If it were in the past, Nathaniel
would not be able to tell how much time his company would need to remedy such negative impacts.
Now, he was observing the development of the matter for learning purposes. After all, he would need to
manage a massive company, perhaps comparable to La Beaute Group, after Tanner Corporation fell
under his control. The only way he could defeat his enemy was by studying them well.
As for Lily, he had not seen her in the past few days. He wondered if she was afraid or broken down to
nothing after seeing all the criticisms from the public. Everyone was looking at her as if she was a
murderer now, after all.
The outsiders might not know what went down within the Lodge family, but they heard Lily’s words in
the recording. La Beaute
Group had explained that the perfumes on the market were safe for use and that they could release
reports from the regulatory organizations.
They even allowed their consumers to refund the items should they still have doubts about the
products, which calmed most consumers down. However, humans were untrusting by nature. They
were still worried that there might be problems with the perfumes.
‘Lily would've been dead meat if that Russell guy had not protected her.’
Nathaniel felt aggrieved again by this thought. After working at Tanner Corporation for some time, he
was even more convinced that he lacked a good background and an opportunity. He believed that
Alexander was not much more capable than him, but it was just that he was born into a good family.
Take the case this time around, for example. Alexander did not have to do anything alone because the
professionals in his company would settle everything. As their boss, he only needed to approve
documents and listen to their reports.
‘That is exactly the case in Tanner Corporation now. Although the people who work here are Arianna
and me, those from the working classes, or even that good-for-nothing Damian, the management and
ownership of the company still belong to Derrick, who knows nothing! This is the story of my life! ’
Bang!
Someone pushed the door open without warning, but Nathaniel knew who his guest was without having
to look up. In the entire company, only one person would open the door in such a way, or rather, he
was the only one with the guts to do so.
“I’m working my *ss off out there! How dare you play hooky at work here?” Damian criticized Nathaniel
as soon as he entered the door aggrievedly.
Slowly, Nathaniel raised his head and looked at Damian.
“I’m working too.”
“Shut the h* 11 up! I know what you're doing! You're dissatisfied that I became the manager and
deliberately neglected your tasks. When the project succeeds, you're planning to take all the credit for
it, aren't you?” Damian scoffed. He looked down at Nathaniel, and there was no way his perspective
would change.
To Damian, Nathaniel was just an outsider, but he had always felt that Arianna valued this outsider
more than him.
