After taking the flash drive, Nathaniel repeated it multiple times.
Although it was just an audio recording, he knew Lily was aware of his meet-up with Henry the other
day. She watched their every move, and they let her slip under their noses.
Thinking back, Nathaniel felt a layer of cold sweat forming on his back.
He used to think that he was stealthy while she was naive. He thought that he could slip past her and
she wouldn't notice. Little did he know that she had eyes everywhere.
He had to be more careful.
However, Nathaniel reassured himself with the fact that Lily did not know much about his deal with
Henry. As of now, Wilfred's cause of death had yet to be determined. After listening to the recording
repeatedly, the only part that piqued his interest was how Lily managed to "poison" Henry.
As it was just an audio recording, Nathaniel couldn't see what was happening and could only make
guesses from the voices.
Henry sounded like he was poisoned or that Lily managed to strike him a blow. From the clip, it
sounded as if she could slip toxins into the fragrance if she wanted to.
If that was the case, it was downright scary!
Although Nathaniel wasn't a perfumer himself, he had been involved in his industry for years. Lily
wasn't the only perfumer he had under his wings, and he would often drop by the laboratory during
productions. However, he had never heard of any toxins that could be added to a fragrance that would
poison anyone that smelled it.
Did such a thing exist? Was there such a possibility? Whatever the case was, it could be put to good
use once Nathaniel got his hands on it.
A perfumer that could make perfumes containing toxins... once it was released to the world would
definitely shock everyone. Lily could be held responsible as someone that was endangering society.
This could be his revenge!
Even if this incident were fake, it would still cause panic. No one would dare to buy or use any future
perfumes she created.
Nathaniel pondered until the crack of dawn. He wanted to ensure that he did not miss anything, and
once he determined that this audio was safe to be leaked, he took a deep breath and stretched.
It was no wonder Arianna told him to listen to it carefully. It seemed like she was thinking the same
thing.
Once the police had collected their statements, a group of people was released. After all, there was no
conclusive evidence so far, and they were waiting for the forensics department's final result.
Lily and Justin sat in the same car and were extraordinarily quiet. It had been a while since the two
rode together like this.
When she was a child, she spent most of the time at the Lodge family house. As the eldest grandson,
Justin would follow Wilfred everywhere. Back then, Lily would be envious of Justin, thinking he could go
out and play every day without being forced to practice.
Only after she grew up, she saw that his burdens were more significant than her own.
Justin would start his practice before dawn, and each time he went out was not for fun. Instead, it was
part of his training, and he kept it all
to himself. Although he had a cold demeanor, his heart was anything but.
"Is everything settled at the company?" Lily asked to break the awkward silence.
She knew there were still things that had yet to be dealt with, but she didn't know exactly what it was.
After all, she wasn't a part of the company's affairs and couldn't do anything to help.
"Everything's fine.” Justin was still as calm as ever.
