Alaric took a long look at James. Instead of being furious, he smiled and slowly nodded. “It seems like
the Cunningham Family is preparing to raise funds again, eh? Ha! How interesting. I look forward to
hearing good news from you soon!”
And with that, the Jackson Family left.
James was stunned. He didn’t expect Alaric to be able to see through his intentions so quickly. However,
since things had already reached this point, he wasn’t too bothered by it.
“Liam, can you contact a few rich people? I am going to invite them over for dinner in the evening and
discuss the project together!” James said.
Liam nodded immediately. “Don’t worry, Dad. When I was still an engineer, I got to know many rich
bosses. However, if I want to invite them to dinner, I’m guessing that I’ll have to invite them in the name
of Cunningham Pharmaceuticals. Otherwise, it’s hard to get these rich bosses to accept our invitation.”
James nodded. “Okay then; invite them in the name of Cunningham Pharmaceuticals.”
Liam was overjoyed and immediately took out his mobile phone to make arrangements for the dinner.
Meanwhile, James was left with nothing to do. Feeling quite upset, he suddenly said, “Come on. Let’s go
to the hospital! Matthew, this b*stard, must have planned all these behind our backs. If I don’t teach him
a lesson today, I won’t be able to breathe easy!”
Wanting to stir up trouble, Demi said excitedly, “Yes, you must teach him a lesson! He eats and lives in
our house, yet has the guts to go against our family all day long. If you don’t teach him a lesson, he’ll
continue to cross the line!”
With that, a group of people went straight to the hospital, expressions fierce.
After entering the department, they found that Matthew was not in the office and only Crystal was
present.
Looking furious, Demi shouted angrily, “Where is Matthew? Ask him to come out here this instant!”
Demi was already annoyed because she hadn’t seen Matthew for the whole day.
To make matters worse, there were some who came over looking for trouble now. At that thought, anger
immediately coursed through her veins.
“What do you guys want?” Crystal asked angrily.
Demi scanned Crystal from head to toe. “That’s none of your business! Hurry up and call Matthew to
come out; otherwise, I will demolish this office!”
Crystal frowned. “How dare you come to the hospital and make trouble? I’m warning you, get out of here
immediately or I will call for the Department of Safety and Security!”
Demi was furious upon hearing this and slapped Crystal right on the face.
Crystal was stunned, for she didn’t expect that Demi would dare to hit her.
In reality, Demi didn’t know who Crystal was.
When she saw Crystal here, she assumed that Crystal was just a young nurse from a regular family.
Otherwise, why would she be sent here?
Demi did not expect her slap to open a can of worms.
Crystal immediately called the Department of Safety and Security and soon, a group of security guards
entered the room aggressively.
Seeing that the situation had taken a turn for the worse, James immediately said, “What are you guys
doing? We—”
Disregarding James’ words, a security guard directly knocked him to the ground.
The other people present were also pressed on the ground one after another, unable to resist the force
of the security guards.
Soon, even the director came personally to check in on the situation. After all, Crystal was Mr. Harrison’s
granddaughter and Mr. Harrison held shares in this hospital!
If the director didn’t hold anyone accountable after the shareholder’s granddaughter was beaten, he
wouldn’t be able to continue to work in the hospital in the future!
James, who was pressed down on the ground, was so furious that he roared, “What are you guys doing?
I’ll have you know that my name is James Cunningham and Cunningham Pharmaceuticals belongs to
my family. Today, I came here to look for Matthew so it has nothing to do with you guys. Let me go
immediately! Otherwise, you’ll suffer from the consequences!”
Cunningham Pharmaceuticals was now very famous in Eastcliff. Most people would be too scared to do
anything to him after hearing that he was related to the pharmaceutical company, but the director just
ignored his words as if he didn’t hear him.
Glancing at James disdainfully, the director said in a cold voice, “I don’t care about your pharmaceutical
company. No matter what, it’s not right to hit others!”
