The Mysterious Jinny
Hearing Jinny’s question, Matthew answered softly, “They are centipedes. Do you like them? You can try
touching them.”
Jinny looked surprised. “Really?! Can I… Can I touch them?”
Matthew nodded.
Right then, Jinny took a deep breath before she slowly placed her hand into the pill furnace.
Any other girl would probably have been screaming at the sight of the centipedes, not to mention
touching them, but Jinny looked like she really liked these little creatures as she reached forward slowly
to touch the centipedes.
At this moment, something weird happened. When Jinny’s hand entered the pill furnace, those
centipedes immediately stopped thrashing around as if they were being consoled.
The moment Jinny’s hand came into contact with those centipedes, they became obedient and gentle. It
seemed like they honestly enjoyed Jinny’s touch.
It was common knowledge that these centipedes that were reared as poisonous creatures were
extremely aggressive, not to mention reared poisonous centipedes. Even a normal centipede would have
attacked immediately upon coming into contact with humans.
However, these centipedes didn’t react like that at all. It was miraculous.
Watching closely, Matthew nodded with a thoughtful look before sealing the pill furnace again and
keeping the centipedes away.
After that, he took a few large ceramic bottles that contained the five poisonous creatures from yesterday
out before proceeding to release them.
Right then, Jinny gasped again. Nevertheless, she looked even more excited instead of being afraid.
As for the five poisonous creatures, they looked like they weren’t going to attack anyone as they were
extremely gentle toward Jinny and even allowed her to carry them.
Most importantly, the red snake had venom all over its body, and those who came into contact with it
would surely die. However, Jinny never felt anything while carrying the snake. It was almost too hard for
anyone to believe it.
Upon seeing that, Matthew confirmed his thoughts that Jinny might just be the person that the 72 clan
leaders were looking for.
Still, he wasn’t planning to reveal it yet.
Even though Matthew didn’t know the reason behind why these people were looking for Jinny, it was
best to keep her sheltered because she couldn’t protect herself yet.
After keeping all the poisoned creatures, Matthew instructed Jinny not to leave the house.
During these two days, the abscesses on Jinny’s body had significantly reduced, and her clear skin
came into view.
Happy with her progress, Jinny did as Matthew told.
After Matthew brought the poisonous creatures to the villa next door that was unoccupied, he used a
secret technique to dispose of all of them.
Although the poisonous creatures reacted well with Jinny, they were still life-threatening to other humans,
and Matthew couldn’t allow them to crawl all over Eastcliff!
After he was done, he packed his stuff and returned to Grand Garden.
Upon entering the house, Matthew spotted Tate and Minerva.
Right then, Tate and Minerva were surrounding Sasha and nagging her. On the other hand, Sasha was
eating with an impatient look on her face.
When they saw Matthew entering, Tate quickly exclaimed, “He’s here! He’s here! Matthew is back!
Sasha, ask him about it if you don’t believe me! Hey, Matthew, where did you go last night? Why didn’t
you return home the entire night? Was it fun hanging out with Leanna?”
Nevertheless, Matthew only gave Tate a look and couldn’t be bothered by what he said.
Still, Minerva started snickering. “I bet you can’t say anything because you’re feeling guilty. Look, Sasha,
we have proof now. I’ve already told you that this a*shole is definitely not a good person. Why didn’t you
believe in what I’ve said?”
After Sasha finished her oatmeal, she slammed her bowl on the table. “Go and play hide and seek or
something if you two don’t have anything else to do! Am I not being clear? Matthew would never do
something like that!”
Immediately, Tate retorted in an agitated manner. “Sasha… How could you trust an outsider instead of
your own family? Do you even know what he’s really thinking about? You can’t get tricked by him!
Someone like him is not worth your trust!”
