Rainbow Centipede
After searching around the place, Matthew found those plants as expected. Nevertheless, he didn’t touch
the plants. Instead, he slowly squatted down and observed his surroundings.
Then, he took a small ceramic bottle out and poured some of the black powder from the bottle around
the plant.
A while later, Matthew noticed the soil around the plant moving around as if something was about to
crawl out.
Holding his breath, he stared at the ground intently. About three minutes later, a centipede crawled out
of the soil.
The centipede wasn’t large and was only about the length of a thumb. However, the centipede had a
colorful appearance and looked more like a snake.
Right then, the centipede looked anxious as it moved around in the circles around the black powder that
was circled around it. The centipede couldn’t crawl out of the black powder, and it seemed like the
centipede was fearful of the black powder.
At this moment, Matthew took another ceramic bottle and opened a little opening around the black
powder before placing the mouth of the ceramic bottle at the opening.
Immediately, the centipede crawled over and entered the ceramic bottle.
Then, Matthew quickly picked the ceramic bottle up, and the centipede was trapped in the ceramic bottle.
Nevertheless, Matthew didn’t leave yet. Instead, he took his pill furnace out and placed it on the ground.
After that, he poured the centipede from the ceramic bottle into the pill furnace before pouring some
powder into it as well.
At this instance, the centipede looked as if it was burned and started thrashing around before an odd
smell filled the air. He was standing on a tree from afar, observing quietly.
Not long after, more centipedes around the area crawled out before crawling into the pill furnace one by
one as if they were attracted by the smell.
After observing for a while and making sure that there were no centipedes left, Matthew jumped down
from the tree and sealed the cover of the pill furnace before wrapping it up. Then, he took a huge glass
bottle to keep a few of the three-leaf plants before returning to Leanna’s villa.
At the same time, Leanna was waiting for Matthew to return anxiously. When she saw him coming back,
she quickly reported, “Dr. Larson, she moved a few times just now again. Is she in any danger? I’m really
worried!”
Nevertheless, Matthew chuckled softly. “It’s fine. She’s alright.”
Sighing in relief, Leanna asked with a low voice, “Dr. Larson, do you know who tried to curse her? Could
it be that the man from Bainbridge found out that she’s not dead and wants to harm her again?”
Still, Matthew shook his head. “She wasn’t cursed. This is just an accidental injury.”
Right then, Leanna was taken aback. “Accidental injury? What do you mean?”
“Because she was cursed by these centipedes in the past, her body had become a great medium for
them to grow. If there were centipedes around this area, they would be attracted here easily. In this case,
no one cursed her. However, there are people rearing centipedes in this area, and her body attracted
these centipedes, so she ended up like this.”
Leanne’s eyes widened as she gasped. “S-Someone is rearing centipedes around this area? How could
that be? Most… Most of the people here are innocent elderly villagers, so who would do that?”
Matthew shook his head. “I don’t know yet, but I’ll find out in a bit. Don’t worry. Those people who are
rearing these centipedes are not planning to harm you guys or the people here. If not, this entire area
would have been destroyed. Things wouldn’t have been like this if they really planned to harm everyone.”
Although Leanne looked relieved right then, she was still anxious. After all, it was normal for a woman to
be fearful of creepy crawlies.
Right then, Matthew walked toward the side of the bed and forced the centipede out with acupuncture. It
was the same type of centipede that Matthew found in the woods.
However, the centipede’s color changed right after entering the body. Instead of its rainbow appearance,
it had become a blood-red color.
It was the kind of color that appeared after the centipede consumed human blood.
