Liam shivered in fright. “Pete, wh-what’s the matter?” he stammered. “What mistake did I make? Say
something!”
Pete raised the brick and threw it at him.
Liam hurriedly avoided it and asked anxiously, “Pete, what are you doing?” We’re pals, so just tell me
what I have done to offend you and I promise I’ll make it right. If you don’t say anything, how can I make
things right?”
Pete didn’t say a word. He picked up another brick and grabbed Liam’s collar.
Liam was so scared he let out a shriek. “Are you f*cking crazy? You think I’m afraid of you? You asked
for it!” Liam roared and punched Pete in the face.
Pete took the hit but he didn’t back off. Instead, he hit Liam on the head with the brick.
Liam was beaten till he saw stars. He staggered and took a few steps back.
Pete dashed toward him and kicked him in the stomach again. He then grabbed Liam by the neck and
gave him a few slaps to the face.
Liam was getting dazed from all the hits, and all he could do was to hold his head and try to avoid the
blows.
“Get on the ground!” Pete roared again.
Liam was completely frightened by this point and fell to his knees with a thud. With a trembling voice, he
asked “Pete, what happened?”
Pete finally stopped and yelled angrily, “You f*cker! You still dare to ask me what’s wrong? You almost
got me killed! I got lucky, or else my whole family would have been finished by now! F*ck you, Liam. I
really want to kill you!”
As Pete ranted, he grabbed a brick and strided toward him angrily.
Liam immediately kowtowed. “Pe-Pete, I was wrong! Please forgive me… How did I get you into trouble?
Just tell me. I really don’t know what’s going on…”
Pete angrily told him everything that happened today.
It was then that Liam finally knew what was going on, and he was dumbfounded.
James and the others had planned to help Sam White to make Sasha his today, but he was actually not
really onboard with the plan.
However, for the sake of the family assets, he still asked Pete to do it.
He never expected that it would cause such a big mess, and he really had nothing to say about Pete
hitting him now.
“F*ck! Matthew, that bastard! He planned all of this! He framed me on purpose! Pete, just you wait. I’ll
make sure he pays!” Liam said, gritting his teeth.
However, he had misunderstood the situation.
He thought that Pete was mad at Matthew, but little did he know that Pete was full of respect and
gratitude toward Matthew now.
Now that Liam was cursing Matthew in front of Pete, wasn’t he looking for trouble?
At once, Pete rushed toward him and punched him in the face a few more times.
Liam was beaten black and blue and his face was swollen. “Pete, I-I just wanted to help you get revenge.
Isn’t that what you wanted?” he asked tremblingly.
Pete gritted his teeth. “You f*cking listen to me carefully! From now on, Mr. Larson and President
Cunningham are my benefactors. If you dare to disrespect them, even a little, I’ll fight you with everything
I have! My life was saved by Mr. Larson and President Cunningham anyway, so I don’t mind giving it
back to them! If you don’t believe me, go ahead and try!”
Liam was stunned. He didn’t understand why his friend would be so loyal toward Matthew!
At that moment, a few security guards at the construction site meandered past them.
Liam saw them and his eyes lit up. He quickly stood up and yelled, “Hey, you guys, come over quickly!
This b*stard is causing trouble and even dared to hit me! Come here now and hold him down. I’m going
to hit him to death!”
The few security guards looked over, then glanced at each other. One of them suddenly shouted, “Oh
gosh, there is a thief in the construction site!”
“Hurry up, let’s go catch the thief!”
The security guards then turned and ran away, leaving Liam dumbfounded.
