Sasha didn’t say a word and just looked at Matthew next to her.

Even though she was the president of the company, she would let Matthew call the shots most of the

time when he was around.

This was her way of showing respect toward her husband as his wife, and her way of telling everyone

else her stance.

She wanted everyone to know that even though Matthew was a live-in son-in-law, he was very important

to her.

Moreover, Matthew was also the one who made decisions on family matters!

Matthew stared at the security captain, Pete Rivers, making him break into cold sweat.

Although Matthew kept a low profile most of the time, judging from the way Tiger treated him, he knew

that this person was not to be taken lightly.

After a long while, Matthew spoke softly, “Pete Rivers, if we let you be in charge of the company’s

security, would you be able to handle it?”

Pete was overjoyed. “Mr. Lawson, President Cunningham, don’t you guys worry! I’ll definitely handle the

company’s security well! If anything happens, you can have my head! From now on, I’ll only follow you

and President Cunningham’s instructions. I won’t listen to a word from anyone else! If you two need me

to climb a mountain of swords or plunge into a sea of flames, I won’t even frown!”

Matthew nodded in satisfaction. “Alright, you don’t have to say such scary things. There’s not too much

to worry about. The most important part of your job is to ensure the president’s safety, as well as to

prevent people causing trouble at the company.”

Pete nodded repeatedly. “Don’t worry, leave it all to me!”

Matthew continued, “I don’t know what’s your relationship with Liam, but since you’ve decided to stay

and serve in the company, then make sure you do your job properly. You now work in security, but our

company will not stifle a capable person. As you know, our company has invested into a lot of new

businesses, and we have opened up a lot of new branches too. All these branches need someone who

can be trusted to manage them. Do you get what I mean?”

Pete was overjoyed. Of course he understood what Matthew meant.

Matthew was telling him that if he did a great job and could earn his trust, he might be able to get a

position as one of the higher-ups or even as an executive in the future.

To put it plainly, if he did a good job as a security guard here, he would have the chance to earn a big

fortune!

After having such a narrow escape and being given such a promise, Pete really was grateful to Sasha

and Matthew.

“Mr. Larson, President Cunningham, don’t you guys worry. I… I swear with my life today that I’ll do my

best and be absolutely loyal to you!” Pete’s voice was trembling.

Matthew nodded. “Alright, as long as you can handle it. Oh yes, go look for Tiger and apologize to him.

We will all work together in the future, so there is no need to hold a grudge against anyone on small

matters!”

Pete nodded repeatedly. “I will!”

Walking out of the office, Pete took in a deep breath and was looking bright.

Besides apologizing for his mistake and pledging his loyalty, he had originally intended to thank them for

saving his life. He didn’t think he would gain such an unexpected windfall.

As for apologising to Tiger, even if Matthew didn’t ask him to do so, he would have gone to apologize to

him too. After all, him grabbing Tiger by his neck wasn’t a small matter.

However, with Matthew personally giving the order, this matter had become simpler because Tiger would

have to give face to Matthew and not make things difficult for him. Without it, him apologising to Tiger

wouldn’t be as easy.

Walking out of the Cunningham Pharmaceuticals, Pete drove to Tiger’s place as fast as he could.

Tiger was at the construction site office. As soon as Pete walked through the door, he directly kneeled

down. “Master Tiger, about today, I was too blind to realize who you were. Please forgive me for my

offense. I’m here to make amends!”

Tiger didn’t even look at him. He had seen too many examples of people begging for mercy.
