Vincent?
How was it possible?
Both Nicole and Samuel witnessed what happened at that time so she was sure that Vincent had died.
The person pretending to be Vincent had also died, hadn't he?
How could there be someone looking exactly like Samuel?
Even Nicole didn't believe that such a person existed now, let alone Olivia. But Samuel indeed had
been with her during that period of time.
Nicole was a bit stunned. Looking at her expression, Olivia forced a smile and said, "Hard to believe
right? You said that he had been with you all the time. He didn't leave you even for a second? Are you
sure about that? I've been with you for so many years, will I make a mistake and take someone else as
Samuel? How can I not recognize his words, behaviors and all the expressions on his face?"
Faced with Olivia's questions, Nicole couldn't utter a word.
"There must be a misunderstanding here. You are my best friend, so it's impossible for Samuel to
attack your family!"
Nicole tried to argue for Samuel. But it occurred to her that there were indeed several days in which
Samuel was not with her.
At that time, Samuel should have been cooperating with Edwin to do something. But could that be
related to the Kents?
Olivia didn't want to talk anymore.
She knew best how Nicole loved Samuel. Now she had told Nicole clearly what happened. If Nicole still
didn't trust her, there was nothing to be done about it. Olivia said with exhaustion, "Go now. Blair should
still be waiting for you outside. Don't contact me from now on."
These words hurt Nicole. She felt pain in her heat immediately with her eyes filled with tears.
"Are you really going to end our friendship? Olivia, we shouldn't go this far."
"I'm sorry. But my mom has been killed. I can't pretend that nothing has happened."
Olivia buried her head in Jacob's embrace. It was obvious that she was really tired.
It seemed that Booth got something to say, but he didn't say anything in the end.
Nicole walked out numbly, feeling that her mind was in a mess. When she saw Blair smoking in the
corner, she couldn't help but pause for a moment. Then she asked, "Blair, will Samuel really turn
against the Kents? What do you think?"
"What do you mean?"
Blair was confused by Nicole's question. He didn't know why she had such a question suddenly, so he
couldn't help but ask her.
Nicole told him what Olivia just said. Hearing Nicole's words, Blair frowned.
"Impossible! Samuel will never attack the Kents! I remember very clearly when he knew that Olivia had
gone back to her family, he asked many dealers to do business with the Kents. You just said that he
destroyed the Kents with his people? That's nonsense! I don't believe that."
"I don't believe that either. But it doesn't seem that Olivia has lied to me. Why does she accuse Samuel
unjustly for no reason? It doesn't make any sense. Also, she's right. She is very familiar with Samuel.
She knows as much as I do about him, so she wouldn't have had the wrong person."
"What do you mean? Are you suspecting your husband?"
Blair darkened his face.
Nicole couldn't think it straight and felt that she was going to explode.
"I don't doubt him. I just don't know why all this just happened. Samuel doesn't lie, nor does Olivia. But
why was there a person who looked exactly like Samuel? Could it be that Vincent is still alive?"
"Don't think about that now. Samuel will decide what to do. Your friend really doesn't need my help?"
Blair glanced at Booth's legs just now, feeling somewhat worried.
Nicole felt very upset. She whispered, "Olivia insists that they refuse the help from anyone related to
Samuel."
"Then find someone who has nothing to do with the Greens. I know a doctor who is good at operations
and not related to Samuel. Is that okay?"
Hearing that, Nicole nodded quickly.
"Alright, just tell Olivia that she's someone Jacob knows. Don't mention me. Everything should be fine.
But is that doctor better than you?"
Hearing Nicole's words, Blair smiled and said, "A lot of people come to see her, but she performs only
one operation every month. She will not make an exception no matter how much they're willing to
spend on that. Also, when she's doing the operation, you can't even see clearly the movements of her
hands. Now who do you think is more skillful? I can be regarded as a great doctor in this area. But
compared to her, I'm almost nothing."
Blair's words surprised Nicole. She never thought that there would be someone more skillful than Blair
with regard to performing operations.
"Better than Gabrielle? What about Morgan...?"
"Morgan is an expert on traditional Chinese medicine and could be regarded as a genius. Actually, this
doctor and Morgan have studied under the guidance of the same teacher. She is more skillful than
Morgan. But she has a special identity and also prefers to keep a low profile. As a result, not many
people know about her, and basically, they're from rich families. It's extremely difficult to ask her to
perform an operation no matter how much they offer her."
Hearing Blair's words, Nicole was depressed again.
"Will she be willing to come if we invite her here?"
"Perhaps you might not be able to invite her here, but I guess Gabrielle can help persuade her. They
are friends. I'll ask her to have a try."
"Please."
Nicole wanted to thank Blair, but he stopped her.
"We don't know yet whether she'll come or not. I'll ask Gabrielle to invite her. Let's wait for her reply
first."
While Blair took out his phone and went to make a call, Nicole sent a message to Jacob and told him
about that.
It's hard for Jacob to check the messages in front of Olivia, so he just took his phone out and muted it.
Blair got the reply from Gabrielle very soon. She said that the doctor was willing to help them. But she
would be available only this evening because she was leaving for somewhere else tomorrow morning.
Nicole was very happy and quickly sent a message to Jacob.
Noticing that there was no sound in the apartment, Blair said to Nicole in a low voice, "Let's leave here.
I guess if we stay here, Jacob won't have time to check his phone."
"Thank you, Blair."
Nicole thanked him from the bottom of her heart. She really didn't want to see Booth sit in a wheelchair
in the rest of his life.
Blair nodded. They two then got into a car and left.
Noticing that the footsteps outside died away, Olivia sighed and said to Jacob, "Now you should leave
too. I really appreciate that you are still caring about me at this moment, but I can't get you in trouble."
"Don't say anything stupid. I've already said that I want to stay with you guys, so don't try to persuade
me to leave here. I'm going to buy something back. Even though you don't want anyone related to the
Greens to treat Booth's legs, we still need to buy some medicine to reduce inflammation. Don't be
stubborn. For Booth, listen to me, okay?"
Looking at Jacob, Olivia couldn't help but cry again.
Booth knew that Olivia was worried about her, but he didn't know how to comfort her, so he could only
hope that Jacob could make her feel better.
Jacob let Olivia cry for a while before he got up and left.
After he went out, Jacob took out his phone. Seeing what Nicole just sent him, he immediately felt very
excited. However, he still remembered Olivia's determination to reject Nicole's help. He walked farther
and then called Nicole.
"Mrs. Green, is what you just said in the message real?"
"Yes, it is. Gabrielle has already contacted that doctor and she said she could perform the operation
tonight. Think of a way to ask Olivia and Booth to follow you to leave. Since Olivia doesn't want anyone
related to the Greens to help them, don't say that we introduced this doctor to you. Just say that she's
your friend. She happens to be in this city now and she'll be leaving tomorrow morning. I guess Olivia
won't reject her help if you say something like that."
Hearing Nicole's words, Jacob knew that she was still worried about Olivia and Booth and doing her
best to help them. He apologized to her, "Mrs. Green, I'm so sorry. Olivia might not be in a good mood
now. She'll think things out later."
"No one can calm down after things like that happened. You stay with them and look after them. If
there's anything that I can do for you, feel free to call me."
"Alright."
They two hung up the phone.
Nicole didn't hurry to go back to the Green's. After all, Samuel had gone back so the children could
sleep peacefully for sure. Now she was more concerned about Booth's operation.
Blair also knew what Nicole was thinking about, so he took her to the Hawk's.
Gabrielle had already arranged everything well, so Nicole sent the address of the doctor to Jacob.
Jacob bought some things. When he returned, he told Olivia and Booth about the doctor and the
operation as Nicole said.
They were reluctant to go with him at the beginning. After all, they had tried but got disappointed so
many times. They were afraid that they would be disappointed one more time.
Jacob tried his best to persuade them. Booth didn't want to see Olivia feel guilty in the rest of her life,
so he said, "Let's have a try. What if it works this time?"
Since Booth also said that it was worth a try, Olivia finally nodded.
They hired a car and set out for the place according to the address given by Nicole.
While Booth was having the operation, Nicole was waiting at the Hawk's, walking back and forth
anxiously.
Seeing that she was so anxious, Gabrielle said worriedly, "Nicole, take care of yourself. You're now
pregnant. Your bad mood is not good for the baby. Sit down and don't worry. That doctor is so skillful
that I'm sure the operation will succeed and Booth can stand up eventually, although it might take a
longer time to finish the operation."
"As long as the operation can be successful, it doesn't matter whether it takes long or not. But could
you tell me who that doctor is?"
Nicole was a bit curious.
Gabrielle shook her head and replied, "You won't have many opportunities to come in contact with her
in the future, so it's just fine that you don't know who she is. Moreover, since her identity is special, I'm
so sorry that I can't tell you about that."
"It's okay. Thank you very much for your help."
Nicole knew that Gabrielle wasn't a person who would hide secrets deliberately. Since she said so, it
seemed that that person really didn't want anyone else to know her identity.
Nicole felt so distressed while she was waiting. Finally, she got a call at 4 o'clock in the morning.
"The operation was successful."
It was just a simple sentence. But when Nicole heard that, she got so happy that she shed tears.
"The operation was successful! It was!"
She hugged Gabrielle, crying and laughing.
Gabrielle knew how much Nicole cared about Olivia, so she was very happy that she was able to help
Olivia.
"Alright, it's already early in the morning. You should go to bed and take a rest quickly. You've spent a
whole night waiting. Why Samuel hasn't called you at all? Isn't he worried about you? After all, you're
carrying his baby inside you."
Gabrielle spoke in a casual way, but her words caused Nicole to pause.
'She's right.'
'Samuel hasn't called me at all this night. Could it be that he's still angry because of what happened
between Olivia and us?'
'But he's not that mean, is he?'
'Or was it because he still felt awkward and uncomfortable thinking about how he was tricked by Olivia
in the clubhouse?'
Nicole didn't know exactly what happened, but she was sure that there must be something wrong
because she hadn't received any call from Samuel by now.
Nicole remembered that Samuel left in a hurry and didn't look good, so she asked Blair immediately,
"Blair, did Samuel say anything when he left?"
"No. He just asked me to bring you back here to take a rest. Don't think about it. Today is a busy day.
Perhaps everyone needs time to calm down. Take a good rest here first. When it's light outside, I'll
drive you back to the Greens."
Although Blair said that, Nicole still felt a bit uneasy.
Did anything happen to him?
