Don't Try to Escape, My Wife! Chapter 1323 Don't Make Things Difficult for Him

William looked at Sally with some fascination. She hadn't seen him like that in years. Sally smiled

brighter.

"Do I look good?"

She asked like a shy little girl.

William nodded. But he soon realized that he was being frivolous. He hurriedly lowered his head and

didn't dare to look into Sally's eyes. But Sally was quite content.

"Get up and freshen up. I'll make you some food. Right, Nicole and the others may come later. Please

give me a hand. Well, you know Nicole, right? She brought you out yesterday. She is Xander's

daughter, and your niece."

Sally knew that William hadn't been in contact with the Don family for years, so he didn't know much

about Nicole. Nicole brought him out yesterday, but Sally thought William didn't recognize Nicole.

But William actually knew.

"I know who she is. She's the child of my brother Xander and your sister Audrey. But she doesn't look

much like them."

Sally was stunned and then explained, "Nicole had an accident before. She had a face-lift. She looked

a lot like them before the surgery. You can take a look at her previous photos."

"Alright."

William paused and was thinking about the accident mentioned. But he didn't ask. He just pondered in

his heart.

Sally then left the room.

William heaved a sigh of relief. He couldn't keep calm in front of Sally.

After Sally left, William tidied himself up. He was still wearing the same clothes as yesterday. But

compared with what had happened to him in the cellar, he was now content.

Time and circumstance could change everything and dilute everything. Now William had none of the

arrogance of his youth. He was more mature now and less talkative.

Nicole didn't sleep very well. If Samuel didn't stopped her, she would have come to see William in this

evening.

It was morning. Nicole heard a noise in Sally's room and she quickly ran over.

She was a little nervous, and her hands were sweating.

Samuel was amused, and then knocked on the door.

William was nervous. He told himself that he was free now, and he needed to adapt to the current

society and the world.

William prepared and finally said, "Come in."

His heart was beating fast. When he saw Nicole and Samuel, his nervousness and anxiety vanished at

once.

"It's you. Good morning."

William greeted them.

Nicole was stunned.

When she saw William last night, he was in a mess. She couldn't even tell what William looked like. But

now, William was cleaned up by Sally. He looked exactly the same as the photo Nicole saw before.

Being in the darkness for too long made his face pale and sick. His hair was grey. He looked so

different from ordinary people.

Nicole choked with sobs.

"William, your hair..."

Sally had cut his hair, but looking at the color of his hair, Nicole still felt sad.

William didn't care, "It's fine. I'm still alive. Nothing would be a problem."

He was OK with that, but Nicole felt even worse.

Nicole ran over and hugged William, crying and shouting, "Uncle William!"

She didn't know what to say.

Back then, Nicole wasn't born. She didn't know what happened to William. Her words of sympathy

didn't come from her heart. This person in front of her was her uncle, a dead ringer for his father.

Nicole had never seen her father, so she felt very close to William.

Actually, the four brothers of the Don family looked quite similar, but Xander and William were cuter.

Moreover, they had the makings of scholars, while Mark and Jason were tougher, which may having

something to do with their experiences in the military.

Nicole's feelings for William were special, carrying her longing and expectation for her father. Now, she

was just excited.

William was also a little excited.

Xander's daughter was now a grown woman. But he had no future.

William patted Nicole's shoulder and whispered, "Xander will be jealous if he sees you like this."

Nicole was stunned, then she choked up and said, "I have never seen my father."

She briefly told William about her experiences.

William felt sorry for her.

"It's really hard for you. Your name is Nicole Bush, right? Why isn't your last name Don?"

Nicole didn't know how to explain.

Samuel whispered, "William, we are used to calling her that."

"That's fine, as long as you're happy."

William felt complicated. After so many years, Xander and his mother had gone. Things were totally

different.

He sighed. Nicole asked, "William, the person who trapped you in the cellar is the king of Country F,

right?"

"Don't interfere in this. I will tell Mark and Jason this later."

William wanted to protect Nicole, but Nicole didn't want that.

"William, I don't want to make things hard for me. But I have to. I'm already involved."

Nicole recounted what happened to her.

William felt angry when he learned what the king had done.

"I will kill him one day!"

This was the cruelest words William had ever said after coming out of the cellar. His entire body

emitted a trace of gloominess, like a ghost coming from hell.

Nicole did not know what William had suffered, but at this moment, she had the same thoughts.

Nicole and William had a lot to say. Samuel then left and gave them the space.

William was not a kid. He could see how much Samuel loved Nicole. The Dons were all affectionate

and sensible. Nicole's love for Samuel was also sincere.

"Nicole, is Samuel nice to you? Did he ever complain about your face?"

William's question stunned Nicole. Then, she shook her head, "William, Samuel treats me very well. In

the past, he didn't know how to communicate with me. He thought he was right for my sake, but I didn't

understand him. No one can blame him for the accident of my face."

Hearing this, William knew that Samuel was the one.

"How did Xander and Audrey die?"

William had been locked up for so many years, and he couldn't get any information from the outside

world. Now, he couldn't wait to know everything about the Don family.

Nicole explained everything to William.

William's face changed.

"Elvis is dead?"

"Yes."

"He is Samuel's father?"

William's eyes sharpened.

Nicole's heart skipped a beat and she nodded, "Yes."

"You're with the son of the enemy who killed your father?"

When Nicole heard this, she felt unease, but she still firmly said, "William, it has nothing to do with

Samuel. In fact, he is also a victim."

William did not say anything. But Nicole felt uneasier than ever.

"William, believe me. Samuel is different from Elvis. He is really nice to me."

"Did Mark and Jason know him?"

William frowned.

Nicole hurriedly nodded.

"They've seen him. Even my grandpa likes him. And, Samuel is a soldier now."

Nicole didn't intend to say this, but she couldn't understand what William meant. She was a little

anxious.

William was equivalent to her father. She did not want William and his father to deny her marriage.

Finally, William nodded, "I will keep an eye on him and see how he treats you."

Nicole didn't know how to react. Samuel purposely left to let them reminisce, but William was

suspicious of him. Nicole didn't know what Samuel would feel if he found out.

"William, don't make things too difficult for him."

Nicole shook William's arm. She acted like a little girl. William didn't know what to say.

This feeling was unspeakable. He knew that he might not have any children in his lifetime. But Nicole

saw him as a father. He didn't know how to describe that.

If he had been with Sally, he would have had a child of Nicole's age.

William thought a lot and he felt a bit more pity for Nicole.

Xander and Audrey were gone. Nicole was the only child of the next generation of the Don family. He

had decided to treat Nicole as his daughter.

"Alright, you have my word."

William finally smiled.

Nicole laughed brilliantly.

"Uncle William, you are the best. I am so happy that I have a new relative."

"Silly girl."

William began to adapt to his current role and felt happy.

Nicole did not know what William was thinking. She was curious and looked at William. She asked

softly, "William, what exactly happened between you and Sally? Did you two..."

"No. It's impossible for Sally and me to be together."

As soon as William finished this, he heard the crashing of plates outside.

Nicole's heart skipped a beat. She saw Sally come in. Her pale face was filled with sadness, and she

looked at William with a trace of disappointment.

Nicole suddenly felt guilty. She felt she hurt Sally just now.
