“I’m gonna kill him!”
Olivia turned around but Nicole grabbed her arm. And Davon began to smile.
“You can’t. He and I both studied under the same master.”
Nicole and Olivia were shocked.
“So you know each other?”
“Yes. He is not an enemy. But he is kind of cynical. We studied different fields under the same masters.
He excelled at poison-making so he always wanted to challenge my capability of detoxifying. But this
time, it’s more than just a letter of challenge.”
Davon frowned a little.
“What do you mean?”
Nicole was intrigued. She pulled Olivia to sit down with her so they could hear the whole story.
Davon whispered, “Tony is from the Country F. The Thompson family is one of the four officials of the
Cabinet. But I heard that the Thompson family is in trouble now, which is probably why he is looking for
me. And Olivia might be the referrer. I think Tony did some research on Olivia and might even know
about what happened with Jacob before he approached her.
Olivia was a little depressed.
So she had been manipulated?
What the hell?
“So will you meet him?”
“Yep. After all, he’s kind of like a little brother to me. I think he meant well and he might have his people
produce the cure for Olivia.
His words comforted Olivia a little bit.
“He’s not too bad.”
“Neither are you.”
Olivia paused as Davon smiled.
“What? I’m not bad at this? If I’m good with relationships, I wouldn’t end up like this.”
“Olivia.”
Nicole wanted to say something to comfort Olivia. But then Davon said, “I shouldn’t comment on your
marriage because I’m just an outsider. But since you treat Nicole and I as your family, can I say a few
things?”
Olivia and Nicole froze. They didn’t expect him to care about other people’s business.
Nicole was sort of upset, “Davon, Jacob is out of the line. You’re not gonna take his side, are you?”
Davon took a look at Nicole and sighed, “Nicole, you spoke too soon on this matter.”
“I spoke too soon? It was Jacob who did Olivia wrong! If you’re gonna be on his side, then don’t say
another word.
Nicole wanted to slam the door and leave but Olivia stopped her.
“I wanna hear what he thinks.”
Her behavior made Nicole quite surprised. But seeing her so determined, she sat down and glared at
Davon.
Davon knew Nicole wanted the best for Olivia, but sometimes when they were on the same team, they
couldn’t see things clear like an outsider like him.
He sat beside Olivia and said, “I’m not making excuses for him. I admit that he was wrong and not a
real man for doing that. You can call him fboy or jerk because he deserves it. But in your marriage, did
he ever do anything bad to you besides this? Olivia, you didn’t get married only because a rush of
blood, right? You know each so well. He is a soldier and he’s a good one. He fought for his country and
his family. He had been Samuel’s assistant for so many years and they’ve been through a lot. He did a
great job and helped the Green family from being destroyed when Samuel was in a coma. He tried his
best to protect everyone. He even gave up the chance of promotion for you when you get married. He
was willing to become a business for you. And I’m telling the truth, right?”
“Davon, you can’t say these in this way. We never say anything bad about what Jacob has contributed.
But he made a huge mistake in this marriage.”
What Nicole said made him seem even more serious.
“Nicole, he did make a mistake. But no one is flawless. He just wanted a child too much. Think about it,
if he doesn’t love Olivia, then why won’t he just get a divorce and marry another woman so that he can
have a child? Why would he do things like this in vain?”
Nicole couldn’t accept his opinion.
“So the nice things he did in the past can make all the suffering of Olivia go away? Is that the reason
why he gets to let the home wrecker get in her face?”
“He didn’t handle that well. But Nicole, you can’t force everyone to reject Jacob just because she’s your
best friend. It’s their business and you shouldn’t get involved. If they don’t love each other and you
want to take Olivia away from him, then I have no problem with that. But look at her. She is not sick and
she still lost so much weight. Why? Because she’s still in love with Jacob! Why was she willing to put
her life in danger and poison herself so that Jacob could see what kind of person Julissa is? Did she do
that so they can get divorced? Jacob is a good man. If Olivia doesn’t love him anymore, he won’t hog
the properties. He might even give her everything! Don’t say you didn’t know that, Olivia! Why did you
poison yourself? Was it just because of the money or because you wanted him back? You know it.”
His speech made Olivia shocked and speechless.
Was it true?
Did she really do those things just so she could have all the money, punish Julissa or manipulate
Jacob?
Did she want Jacob surrender when he saw her being tortured by Julissa?
Was that really the case?
Olivia couldn’t breathe.
Meanwhile, Nicole was stunned after hearing what Davon said.
She thought about Olivia’s personality.
If she really didn’t love him, she would cut to the chase and get divorced. She didn’t have to do so
much.
So was she wrong about this?
Olivia didn’t want a divorce?
Nicole realized she might do something wrong though she actually meant well.
When she first heard what Jacob had done to Olivia, she was on her side and forced Samuel to be
against Jacob. From her perspective, Jacob was the villain.
It was undeniable that she didn’t think of what Jacob used to sacrifice. She only saw that Olivia was in
pain and she was a victim. But now she thought it over, who could make Olivia a victim if she was not
willing to?
If she didn’t accept that, she might gut that woman with a kitchen knife from the beginning.
So it was she who crossed the line.
Nicole felt terrible. When she saw the look on Olivia’s face, she knew Davon was right.
Olivia couldn’t stand what Jacob did and still didn’t want to divorce. It seemed like that she did all these
things to get divorced but she was actually fixing the marriage.
