Henk seemed to be very afraid of the man Melissa mentioned. Although he was still very angry, he
lowered his volume under Melissa's threat.
Nicole was even more curious about that person.
Seeing that Henk's anger had subsided, Melissa whispered, "Hurry up and leave here. I'll ask him to
help you. Even if Mr. Bradford cuts off your financial path, he'll give you another. Don't worry."
"OK, thank you."
Henk came aggressively, but he left dejectedly.
Nicole frowned tightly.
Melissa yawned and went back to the room.
Ashley pulled Nicole away from the courtyard quietly.
After coming out, Nicole heaved a sigh of relief and asked, "Do you know who that 'he' is?"
"I know, the one who sold the house to me."
Ashley took out a few papers from her pocket and said, "This is the information about the man inside.
He should be Melissa's boyfriend now. I saw you targeting Henk at the banquet last night, so I
investigated him. But I found something quite interesting. So, I took this opportunity before I go to work
and brought you here to take a look."
Nicole took the papers from Ashley's hand and turned unhappy.
"Thank you for this."
"You're welcome. Handle your troubles as soon as possible so that you can start the television
company to earn money."
Ashley smiled, then patted Nicole's shoulder and whispered, "Do you need me to send you back?"
"No, thank you. I'll walk by myself."
Nicole didn't want to go back so quickly, so, she parted ways with Ashley here.
Her mind was in complete disarray now.
Melissa had a boyfriend who seemed to be quite influential, but why didn't she tell the Bushes?
Why did she still act like she's poor?
Nicole sat down on a bench and took the paper out of her arms.
That man was Major. It was said that he was the boss of a large company and did a lot of overseas
business. But few people knew what he was doing overseas. He was almost thirty and was not
married. He was Melissa's boyfriend then.
However, Ashley marked one on the back.
"Major seemed to be someone Elvis had nurtured from the orphanage."
Nicole's eyes suddenly narrowed.
Melissa had been in the orphanage since she was young, probably Major was someone who worked
for Elvis. But Nicole was confused. Why was Major not affected since Elvis was captured and had no
power?
'And what did he want?'
'The person behind Brian was him?'
'He was also the one who destroyed the Kents?'
Nicole linked the two matters together, but she couldn't find any clue.
She stayed outside for a long time until Samuel called her, then Nicole pulled herself together.
"What's wrong? Why don't you come back till now?"
Seeing that Nicole hadn't returned yet, Samuel couldn't help but get worried.
Nicole put away the papers and whispered, "I'm fine, I just walked around. Samuel, is Brian still there?"
"Yes, he's. Do you still have something to ask?"
"No, I'll come back soon. Tell Ernesto to pick me up."
Nicole was tired, so, she went into a coffee shop and sat down.
Samuel hung up the phone and sent Ernesto over.
When Ernesto arrived, Nicole's coffee was just about to be finished.
"Hi, Mrs. Green."
"Let's go and see Brian."
After settling the bill, Nicole took Ernesto once again arrived in front of Brian.
After being tortured for one night, Brian was much more haggard than before. When he looked at
Nicole again, he prayed, "Please kill me. It's worse for me to live like this than to die."
Looking at his broken legs, Nicole did not pity him at all.
"Think about Booth and how did he manage to survive. Brian, you have to pay the price."
"Nicole, you weren't like this before. You..."
"Do you think you know me well? I can be very kind, but stop hurting those who are the most important
to me because I'm kind. I won't agree to that."
After finished speaking, Nicole looked at Brian and asked, "Do you know Major?"
"Who?"
"Major."
Nicole said again.
However, seeing Brian's blank gaze, Nicole knew that she had asked in vain.
Brian once confessed that all the orders he received were conveyed by that woman. So, if Nicole
wanted to know if Booth had something to do with Major, she had to ask that woman.
"Right, where is that woman?"
Ernesto hurriedly said, "She acted quite honestly when I first caught her, but she escaped afterward."
"What do you mean? She escaped?"
Nicole frowned.
Ernesto shook his head.
"I don't know, I was not in charge. Anyway, that woman was very slippery."
"Send someone to see if she will come to this place for a man."
Nicole gave Major's address to Ernesto.
Brian was about to faint from the pain.
"Nicole, please kill me."
"Take it. Taste what you did to Olivia and Booth. Don't lock him up anymore. Give him some money and
throw him out. The grudge between us is over."
After saying that, Nicole got up and left.
She felt somewhat depressed.
After returning to the hotel, Nicole found Samuel was not around. He might have gone for Steven.
Nicole thought for a moment and went to Booth's room.
"Hi, Nicole."
Booth greeted with a beaming smile. Apparently, he was in a good mood.
Seeing Booth's brilliant smile, Nicole felt a little sorry for him.
"Are you nervous about the operation this night?"
"No. At this point, I'm positive. Nicole, don't worry about me."
Booth comforted Nicole.
Nicole hugged him tightly and whispered, "Booth, you're a brave boy."
"Nicole, I'm already grown up and I have to be brave."
Then he struggled to push Nicole away and his face blushed red.
"Wow, brave boy was shy now..."
Nicole smiled at him, and Booth's face turned even redder.
"Nicole, don't make fun of me... I don't know how my sister has been lately."
Hearing what Booth said, Nicole was a little sad.
"Don't worry, I will ask someone to take care of her."
Nicole didn't tell Booth about what Henk did, and with her assurance, Booth felt much more at ease.
"My sister is too stubborn. Jacob became a vegetable, and I hope that I can recover as soon as
possible to help her."
"Don't worry, I'll help her."
Nicole comforted Booth once again, and seeing that he was in a good shape, she left the room.
Then Nicole called Olivia.
Quickly, Olivia answered her.
"You actually answered the phone so quickly, aren't you busy today?"
Olivia leaned back on her chair and said dejectedly, "No, I'm free now. It's said that the director
offended someone. Now the shooting was completely stopped. We're all waiting and don't know what
the investor will do."
Nicole knew about the director.
"It's me who pressed the director."
"What?"
Nicole told Olivia everything she knew.
Olivia got furious after she learned what happened.
"Is Melissa mad? I have nothing to do with her. Why did she ask the director to target me?"
"Maybe it's because of me, and you're my best friend, that's why she did this. Oh right, how's the
investigation on Jacob's car accident going?"
Olivia shook her head and said, "We didn't make any progress. But it's strange. There wasn't a single
witness to the car accident. Do you think this is possible? The car accident happened during the rush
period. Even if it was a dead-end, there should be one or two passers-by. Moreover, when Melissa was
in the hospital, she didn't see Jacob before. But how would she know that Jacob had become a
vegetable?"
Nicole knew that Olivia's suspicions were all correct, but they had no evidence and it was useless to
say anything.
"I will ask Laurence to continue the search. Don't worry too much. You can't be an extra for the time
being. Don't you plan to change your work?"
"What can I do? I want to be an actress. I have to pay full attention to looking for screen tests and have
no energy for others. Just leave it at that. Perhaps I will get a chance."
Hearing that, Nicole smiled and said, "Do you think it would be different if I bought this film and didn't
change the full cast?"
"Oh no, are you kidding? A few A-list stars who came from two companies took part in this show, how
can you buy it? Unless the investor withdraws his capital, you participate as an investor."
What Olivia said enlightened Nicole.
As an investor?
A good idea.
"Olivia, I know what to do. Don't worry, here're our chance."
Nicole's happy tone cheered Olivia up.
"It sounds like we will be successful soon. Oh right, how is my brother's operation?"
"Dr. Ashley said that there shouldn't be any problem with the operation. Don't worry too much."
Nicole knew that Olivia was worried about Booth, and she hurriedly told her about it.
Olivia said regretfully, "It's a pity that I can't be there with him. However, with you around, I think Booth
will feel more at ease."
Nicole recognized Olivia's helplessness. She thought of what Brian had said that Olivia had endured
much for him. Then Nicole suddenly said, "If you're still free at night, I'll send someone to pick you up
and you can be with Booth for the operation."
Olivia was stunned.
After a long time, she asked, "Can I? Isn't that an inconvenience?"
"No! Don't forget that my husband is extremely influential in the Seapolis City."
Nicole's exaggerated words lightened Olivia, but soon her eyes were moist.
"Nicole, thank you."
"Stop saying that!"
After she made an agreement with Olivia, Nicole hung up. But suddenly, her phone rang.
