Cara was stunned.
She knew what was happening in Country F. Normally, no one would go there now, afraid of being
involved. However, Laurence said that he was going there. She was worried and doubtful.
"Can you enter the country? What are you going to do there? I heard it is under martial law and internal
strife. How can you get there?"
Seeing concern and worry in Cara's eyes, Laurence couldn't help but smile. The bright smile
intoxicated her.
"I'm quite serious. What are you laughing at?"
Laurence smiled more brilliantly.
"Are you worried about me?"
"Of course!"
Cara thought Laurence was like an idiot, but luckily he was a handsome idiot.
Laurence had no idea what Cara was thinking. He ruffled her hair and said seriously, "The supporters
of Dr. Miller may have something to do with Country F."
"You mean Leo?"
"Or Jayden. No matter who it is, I have to go there to find out."
Laurence's words worried Cara.
"But what they want is you. It is a trip into lion's den."
"But I can't do nothing and just let them get to me. As you see, Mrs. Green is so weak. If there is any
other accident like today, the baby in her belly might die. Mr. Green hasn't recovered yet. If I'm staying
here, I will only bring them danger."
Cara felt distressed.
"I see. You want to get the danger out of here."
"Yes. Mrs. Green is my benefactor. I can't bite the hand that feeds me. Davon is in Country F, and we
can take care of each other. Perhaps my secrets will emerge. I want to grow old with you, or die after
you. I don't want you to be alone in the world. This is my wish."
It might be easy to achieve for others. But for Laurence, it was rather difficult.
Cara knew that he was in a state of rapid metabolism, and he might not be able to hold on any longer.
This wish was truly heartbreaking.
"I'll go with you."
"You stay, it's too dangerous over there."
Laurence resolutely refused.
Cara said firmly, "I have to go with you because of the danger. Considering your condition, I can't part
with you for a second no matter what happens. I want to face everything with you. There are Mr. Green,
Finn, and Ernesto here. It is wise to call Finn back. And if we don't solve the problem in Country F, it will
be a hidden danger for Mrs. Green and the others. So, I'd better go with you. "
Laurence knew that delicate as Cara looked, she was independent-minded.
He nodded and said, "Okay, then you go back to pack up. I have things to deal with."
"Alone? You'd better bring someone with you. You are the most obvious target. I'm afraid that they will
harm you."
Cara was worried.
Laurence nodded.
Laurence's eyes flickered with reluctance and longing as Cara walked towards the Green's.
She was his sunshine, his warmth, but he couldn't take her along.
He knew that if he hadn't said like that, Cara wouldn't have left.
Perhaps they had to part forever.
He regretted it.
If he had known his bad condition, he would never start a relationship with Cara. She was so good a
girl, and shouldn't involve in his hopeless life.
Maybe he didn't deserve happiness.
Anyway, he was grateful to the god for their brief pleasure.
Laurence only hoped that after his death, Cara could find the right man.
Laurence revealed a wry smile and called Samuel.
"Mr. Green, I'm ready. Cara has returned. I hope nothing but you and Mrs. Green will take good care of
her."
Samuel frowned.
"It is your responsibility. I agree with your plan, but it doesn't mean that I want you to court death.
Laurence, no matter how bad your condition is, nothing can deny the fact that you are a man. Since
you had chosen Cara, you should shoulder your responsibility. We can't take care of her forever. It's an
adventure trip, so do remember that your safety is in the first place. Or else, I'll go instead of you."
Laurence felt wretched.
"You? You haven't even recovered. Besides, what about Mrs. Green?"
"You don't have to worry about that. I agree with your plan and have informed Phoenix and Davon to
cooperate with you. But you are the most important one. If you can't protect yourself, the plan will be
shelved."
Samuel said firmly.
It warmed Laurence up inside.
He knew Samuel well, so he was glad to have such a friend and boss.
"Okay, I will be back. Please take care of Cara during my time away."
"Be careful."
"I will."
Hanging up the phone, Laurence looked in the direction where Cara left, then resolutely turned to
leave.
He was reluctant to leave, but he had to clear all obstacles for the future of him and Cara.
Perhaps he couldn't be a normal person, but he would try his best to be normal and grow old with Cara
like a normal couple.
A lifetime wasn't too long or too short. For him, Cara was his everything for the rest of his life.
Laurence led a team and followed the marks that were left by his men.
The marks led them into a remote path. One said with worry, "Captain, do we need to look for help?
These marks seem to point the mountain."
Laurence frowned. He knew that he was in great danger. The action was a hazardous trip.
"Four people stay with me, and the others go back to find supporters."
'Four people should be OK?'
As Laurence thought, his men were a little worried.
"Captain, just five of you might be too few. We can call for help."
"There's no signal."
Laurence had already checked his phone before coming here. There was no signal. Perhaps it was
because of the mountains, or it was artificially blocked.
Anyway, the intention of the enemy was obvious. Neville's men wanted to catch Laurence when he was
alone.
Laurence's men realized that it was a part of the enemy's plan.
"But Captain, you could be in great danger."
"So you need to hurry up. There should be a booth after you pass the intersection. Come back as soon
as you're done. I've calculated. If you drive fast, it won't take more than ten minutes. We can hold on for
ten minutes."
Laurence had considered everything.
When his men heard it, they left after a moment's thought.
Laurence observed his surroundings and whispered, "No action without my orders."
"Yes, sir."
Laurence had no full confidence. The best way was to enter the mountain now. But if he did so, the
intention of attracting people to capture him would be too obvious.
He needed to go deep inside of the opponent's area rather than being suspected from the start.
Suddenly, they heard the approach of footsteps.
Laurence immediately became alert.
"All on alert."
He took out a pistol from his pocket, and the others were ready to fight.
He had thought that the enemy would fight with them, but he didn't expect an electric net to descend
from the sky. Before they could react, all of them were trapped in the net with a huge amount of
electricity.
They loosed off terrible shouts.
The shrill shouts of his men made Laurence angry. But he was unable to withstand it and lost
consciousness.
He miscalculated.
Neville was despicable and shameless to the extreme.
The moment Laurence fainted, Neville appeared.
"Take Laurence away only. His men will be back soon. Hurry up."
Different from his old hen-pecked posture, Neville now was a man whose eyes were filled with
coldness and fanaticism towards Laurence.
He believed that Laurence was the best subject in his life.
No one else in the world could create another creature like Laurence, could they?
Neville gave a broad smile and hurriedly turned off the electric net. He had Laurence dragged into the
car and quickly made his way up the mountain.
There was a private plane on the mountain. In case of Laurence would suddenly wake up, Neville gave
him an injection on the plane. Laurence was completely unconscious.
The servant told Cara that Mrs. Green wanted to see her. Considering Nicole's condition, Cara decided
to visit her before she left.
"Mrs. Green, you wanted to see me?"
Cara avoided staring into Mrs. Green's eyes.
Looking at Cara, Nicole felt distressed.
Nicole introduced Cara and Laurence to each other. Samuel did not mention a word to her about the
plan until just now. She was very angry, but she knew that Samuel had his reasons.
It was said that this was Laurence's plan. She knew what Laurence was thinking.
Different from the gloomy guy, the current Laurence was working hard for a better future. But Nicole
worried that Cara would felt distressed.
She knew better than anyone how it felt when one was worried about her sweetheart but couldn't do
anything.
Seeing Nicole's meaningful gaze, Cara felt a little uncomfortable.
"Mrs. Green, what's the matter?"
"Come here."
Nicole patted her bed and smiled.
Cara paused for a moment, then walked over and sat down.
Nicole held Cara's hand and said in a low voice, "Cara, do you believe in Laurence?"
"Yes."
Her firm answer revealed her deep love for Laurence. Nicole didn't know what to say.
'Why did you leave such a difficult problem to me?'
Nicole scolded Samuel in her heart, but a smile appeared on her face.
"So, no matter what decision Laurence makes, you should believe that he will come back intact!"
Cara's expression immediately changed after she heard it.
