The others chased after him and there was a mess in the Shaffer’s mansion.
Xander took Eaton out of the Shaffer family and quickly went to Morty’s/
Morty froze when he saw Xander.
“Mr. Don?”
“Tell Blair to come here and check if my grandson’s alright!”
Eaton was Nicole’s son. If anything happened to him, she would be devastated.
Xander felt his heart was broken when he thought how sad she would be.
He felt bad enough that couldn’t do much for his daughter. By the time he wanted to make it up for her,
she had grown up.
He thought he wouldn’t have the chance for the rest of his life. Thank God that he finally had the
opportunity. But he was still afraid.
He was afraid that Eaton might end up like him.
When Lucas saw Eaton, he ran toward him.
“Eaton!”
His eyes got wet.
Eaton looked a lot skinnier than he used to be. His face was dreadfully pale. Lucas remembered that
Eaton’s arms used to be so chubby and now they were incredibly thin.
He held Eaton carefully in his arms and stared at Morty.
He didn’t say anything but the look on his face made Morty feel terrible.
“Send Blair!”
“Mr. Morty, Mr. Blair is in the emergency room trying to save Cara. She’s lost too much blood and now
the blood bank is in shortage. I’m afraid...”
Hearing what the bodyguard said, Morty frowned.
Xander said in a low voice, “I send people to get Cody!”
Morty grabbed Xander’s hands.
He knew Xander desperately wanted to save a life. But if something happened to Xander here, he
couldn’t give a perfect explanation to Samuel and Nicole!
However, Xander yelled, “Cara is Cody’s daughter! Biological daughter!”
“What?”
Morty froze and so did Lucas.
How could that be possible?
Cara was one of the Shaffers?
Wasn’t Tracy the daughter of Cody?
Xander took a deep breath and said, “I’ve just known about Cara’s identity. Cody has always wanted to
have a son as an heir. But he and his wife only have three daughters, probably because he has done
too many bad things. Then, his three daughters died young and everyone thought it was just because
of bad luck. But only a few people know that Cody sent people to kill them. After all, the policies didn’t
allow them to have more kids. If he didn’t kill those daughters, he could never have a son. Even though
he has a couple of mistresses, they just can’t have any children. Later, when Cara was born, Mrs.
Shaffer was terrified that her little baby girl would be killed too, so she had to have her maid send Cara
away and replace her with a dead infant. Back then, in order to hide the fact that Cara was still alive
from Cody, her mother didn’t leave anything that could tell her identity. She just wanted her to live as an
ordinary person.”
“But the Close family kidnapped her. They told her she was actually the child of the Close family and
that Laurence murdered her parents. They tricked her to give Laurence the drug that could drive him
mad. At that time, the Close family told Cara the drug could only make him lose all of his power and
was not deadly. Cara believed them and did what they told her to do. But she didn’t expect that it would
do such harm to Laurence. Cara was desperately in love with Laurence and collapsed when she saw
Laurence like that. Since the Close family could no longer control Cara, they put bugs in her body and
made her forget what she had with Laurence and do whatever they say like a zombie.”
Speaking of that, Xander seemed to feel quite sorry for her.
“I’ve been watching the Close family. But ever since Samuel caught Nick, the Close family started to be
extremely cautious. They brought Cara with them when they withdrew. I was wondering why. Cara
escaped when they were on the shipping route. She should have been dead on the sea. But the Close
family tried all the ways to rescue her and gave her medical care. I was puzzled when I heard that. So I
began to investigate her. Coincidentally, my people got in a fight with them when they were trying to
save Cara. Cara was injured and her blood stained my people’s clothes. After they went back, I had the
blood tested and found out she is Cody’s daughter. Then, Cara was kidnapped and the Close family
didn’t win the fight and fled. I had also been looking for Cara, only to find out Cody took her back.
Based on what we know, Cody must have realized that Cara is his daughter.”
Hearing that, Morty was speechless and completely shocked.
“He murdered his own daughters and now treats his daughter like garbage. He is such a jerk!”
“Calling him a jerk is an insult to this word.”
Xander looked grim.
Morty hastily sent people to get Cody but was stopped by Xander.
“If your people go there, they won’t be able to come back and will even be framed. You should lay low
recently. I’ll send my people to do that.”
Morty was confused.
Xander put his fingers against his mouth and whistled. Instantly, those people who were near the
training ground of the Shaffer family moved and two of them walked straight to the Shaffer’s mansion.
Not after long, they brought Cody here.
When Cody saw Xander, he almost went mad.
“Xander, you really wanna die?”
Xander slapped him in the face and knocked him out. He said to the people next to them, “Transfuse
his blood to Cara’s body. Draw his blood as much as she needs, just keep him alive.”
They were hesitant to follow his order and looked at Morty.
Morty nodded.
Cody was brought to Cara right away.
Blair had his assistants accomplish the blood transfusion and then he quickly went to Eaton to give him
a physical check. Luckily, this kid just suffered from a lack of blood and had nothing serious.
Morty was relieved.
“Losing so much blood wouldn’t do damage to his body?”
Blair looked quite gloomy.
He had a son and he knew how hurtful it would be for Samuel and Nicole to see their son like that.
He said coldly, “How could it not be harmful to him? Blood is essential to human body and Eaton is
extremely weak right now. Even though the Green family can afford to give him a perfect environment
for recovery, he will be quite fragile and should be carefully looked after. Otherwise, the cold wind can
give him a cold. His immune system is damaged and it will take years to rebuild it.”
Lucas was so angry that he wanted to kill and Xander began to look even more wrathful, which kind of
scared Morty and Blair.
“Mr. Don, your eyes...”
