"Any news?"
Nicole was a little excited.
This matter had troubled Edwin for his entire life. If he still couldn't find the murderer, he even didn't
know how to face grandma after death.
Blair nodded and said, "Yes, there is news. It is said that it was done by a vagrant. As for whether this
vagrant is a terrorist or not, I still need to look into it."
Nicole frowned slightly.
A vagrant?
The vagrant seemed to have nothing to do with Edwin. Why would he do it? Was this a distraction?
However, since there was a sliver of hope, wasn't it not far from the truth they wanted?
Nicole's excitement could not be concealed.
Blair was also happy.
This caused quite a stir back then. Moreover, Edwin was the person he admired the most. Naturally,
Blair wanted to do something for him.
If a loyal hero couldn't have a family to comfort him, many people's hearts would be broken.
"I will look into this as soon as possible. Don't worry. I just hope that you could take care of Samuel."
"I will. He is my husband."
Nicole smiled gently all the time.
Only then did Blair realize that his previous understanding of Nicole was somewhat biased.
He saw things from Samuel's perspective. Looking back, Blair wondered what Nicole had given up for
Samuel.
Perhaps she gave up much more than Samuel did.
"Nicole, I'm sorry."
Blair's apology was sincere, but this confused Nicole.
"Why did you apologize for no reason?"
Blair just smiled. But there was a trace of relief and understanding in his smile.
"Nothing. Just take it like I've gone crazy."
With that, Blair walked towards Fill's ward.
Nicole did not understand what Blair meant, but she could feel Blair's kindness. She could not help but
smile before returning to Sky Group.
Samuel got quiet after Nicole left. When he came out again, he did not see her. He immediately
panicked.
Was it because of his bad attitude that Nicole was angry?
Where did she go?
Did she leave him?
Samuel searched for her.
"Have you seen Nicole?"
Samuel was anxious, his eyes a little scarlet, which seemed to throw everyone into a chill.
"She perhaps went to the hospital to see Fill."
A lackey said with trepidation.
Samuel frowned. The moment he went out, he saw Nicole get out of the car and walk to him.
"Where have you been?"
With a trace of grievance in his eyes, Samuel immediately greeted her. This stunned Nicole for a
moment.
"What's wrong with you?"
"Don't leave me alone."
Samuel frowned as he said this. He carried Nicole into his arms regardless of how many people were
watching. He just felt that he instantly calmed down the moment he hugged Nicole. His restless feeling
gradually faded away.
Nicole patted Samuel's back gently.
Ever since he was poisoned with the Golden Bug, he seemed to be extremely irritable and didn't feel
secured. She didn't know if this was good or not, but she only knew that Samuel was getting more and
more clingy.
"I just went to the hospital to see Fill. Now I'm back."
"Fine."
Samuel replied softly, but he greedily sniffed the fragrance of her hair. He whispered, "I'm hungry. No
one will stay with me when you're not around."
Nicole suddenly wanted to laugh.
What a bad excuse!
"Alright, I'm hungry too. Come eat with me."
"OK."
Samuel said in a reluctant manner, but he smiled.
He darted a glance at Nicole and caught her smiling. She did not seem to be angry. Then he asked,
"Why did you go there for so long?"
"I thought you needed to calm yourself down for a long time."
Nicole raised her eyebrows.
Samuel said, "I didn't mean to ignore you, I just..."
"I know. No matter who Aaron is, Jarrod may be the last person you want to contact. Yet, he not only
injured your brother, but he might even want to poach people from you. Aren't you going to face this?"
Nicole knew that Samuel was distant to anyone who was related to him. After all, none of them left him
with a good impression. They even harbored unkind thoughts of him. This was why he reacted violently
to the news that Jarrod might be Aaron's son.
Samuel frowned with a trace of coldness in his eyes.
"If my relatives are unkind to me, why should I show kindness? If Jarrod is Aaron's son and wants to
get something from me, I won't let him. I've sent someone to investigate the matter of Fill. There might
be news soon. Aren't you hungry? Let's go to eat."
Samuel sounded relieved eventually.
For him, as long as Nicole returned and stayed by his side, other people wouldn't matter to him.
He couldn't save people bound to dead. He wouldn't let go of whoever owed him, either. Screw the
bloodline!
He still remembered what his relatives had done to him from his birth until now.
Nicole did not know that Samuel's mentality had totally changed. When he heard that Jarrod might be
Aaron's son, he was annoyed not because he was not sure whether that person was his brother, but
because the impulse of killing made him lose control. Samuel was afraid that he would hurt Nicole so
he hid in his room.
This situation was dangerous.
He knew it.
Samuel was very uneasy now, fearing that one day, he would accidentally injure Nicole when he was
unable to control his mania and impulse.
But he didn't want to let go of Nicole.
Nicole was the only person he wanted to cherish, even if he had to sacrifice his life. That was why he
panicked and felt uneasy.
Samuel held Nicole's hand tightly and whispered, "Don't leave me again."
Facing Samuel's possessiveness, Nicole could feel his worry and apprehension. She felt hurt for no
reason.
"OK. I'll tell you wherever I will go in the future, okay?"
"Yeah."
Samuel nodded.
They went to the dining room and a meal had been prepared. Nicole and Samuel sat down to eat. Then
came Samuel's voice, "This is delicious. Try it."
"This is not bad either. You will like it."
"Here, this is a specialty. You can't eat it anywhere else."
As Samuel spoke, he put food into Nicole's bowl. Soon, food in Nicole's bowl had been piled up like a
small mountain.
Nicole was stunned.
Was this what he meant by being hungry?
"I can't even finish it."
Nicole's voice showed coquetry.
But Samuel smiled, "It doesn't matter. I can finish it."
These words instantly put Nicole in embarrassment.
What a man!
Nicole shook her head and strived to finish the food.
Samuel held his chin with one hand and looked at Nicole eating. He couldn't help but smile.
His woman was so good-looking, and she even looked beautiful when eating.
Samuel thought.
At this time, no one dared to come in and disturb them.
They still remembered how Samuel looked like when Nicole disappeared just now. Now everyone knew
that Nicole was the only one who could calm Samuel down. Hence, they tried to please and cater to
her.
Nicole didn't finish her meal. She looked at her leftover worriedly. But the bowl was taken away by a
pair of slender hands.
She raised her head slightly and saw Samuel eating her leftover as if no one else was watching. She
rushed to snatch it.
"There's plenty of food. Why are you eating my leftover? Put it down."
However, Samuel finished it quickly. He smiled and said, "It's delicious."
That smile touched Nicole.
When did this proud man become so humble in front of her?
"Samuel, watch your image!"
Nicole choked with sobs.
However, Samuel said casually, "There is no need to care about that. We just need to be happy."
With that, he held Nicole's hand and said, "How about taking a walk?"
Since Samuel said that, what else could Nicole say?
They went to the garden in the back.
There were few flowers here but rockery and artificial ponds. There wasn't even fish.
Nicole sighed, "How did Fill live his life? Look at this garden. There are no flowers. Even the pond has
only water in it. It can be seen that he doesn't like entertainment."
"Whitney was dead and it took away his hopes for life. He had strived to live for so many years. That
must be difficult, too. Do you expect him to be able to live happily? This place is like his heart, desolate
and lifeless."
Nicole felt a little bitter.
She held Samuel's hand and said, "No matter what happens to me in the future, you can't live like this.
Do you get it?"
This was what Nicole worried about.
Samuel looked at her and read her worry. He could not help but nod and said, "I promise you."
Actually, he thought to himself, 'What's the point of my life without you? Fill lived such a life because of
my kindness to him. But I owe no one. If something happens to you one day, I will definitely end my
life!'
However, Samuel did not speak out these words, nor did he dare because he was afraid to make
Nicole cry.
Some words were useless, and it was better not to say them.
Nicole felt that Samuel's answer was too straightforward, so she couldn't help but glance at him.
"You swear. If something happens to me, you will live well. You must enrich your life since I have no
chance to continue mine."
Samuel's body suddenly trembled. Then he smiled evilly and said, "You wish. Life is so hard, yet you
want to leave me alone to suffer? Really? How could you do that?"
As he spoke, Samuel extended his hand towards Nicole.
