Aron waved his hands. It meant he didn’t want to continue talking to Morty.
Morty frowned, but he walked out of the room.
Morty saw Lucas waited for him outside of the room.
“What’s up?”
“Did you asked Silver Fox to help out today?”
Lucas did some thinking, and he was sure that Morty was the only person who could get Silver Fox to
help out.
Morty looked at Lucas and admitted. He then said, “Thanks for what you did for Michele today.”
“I didn’t like to see her being ignored. She’s talented.”
Lucas said calmly. Morty wasn’t sure if Lucas was putting in good words for Michele, but Morty was
happy.
“Of course. She’s my daughter.”
Lucas pouted and remained silent. He didn’t want to continue on the topic.
Of course, a father would think their children were the best. It was the same for Lucas’ father. Lucas
became a little worried for Samuel when he thought of him.
“Is my father alright overseas?”
“Don’t worry. Your father was born for battlefields. He’s going to be fine.”
Lucas felt less worried after hearing what Morty said.
Morty and Lucas walked together, and soon, they’ve arrived at Morty’s home office.
Morty locked the door while Lucas quickly checked around in secretive places in the room. They took a
breath of relief after they had confirmed that there weren’t any surveillance tools in the room.
“Do you think your life sucks?”
Morty was stunned by what Lucas said. He felt like Samuel was standing in front of him.
“You’re asking about me?”
“Duh? Do you think I’m asking myself?”
Lucas rolled his eyes and said, “Not sure if it’s lucky or not to have a father like you. Michele’s going to
have many people eyeing on her for sure in the future.”
Morty felt delighted when he heard Lucas was worrying about Michele.
“Then, please help me to take care of her.”
“Don’t even think about it. I’m not interested in becoming your son-in-law.”
Lucas knew what Morty was thinking, so he wanted to make things clear.
Morty was stunned.
“Why? Michele wasn’t good enough for you?”
“It’s not that.”
“Then what is it?”
“It’s about whether I like her that way or not.”
Morty was interested in what Lucas said.
“My daughter is gentle and cute. She is a hacker like you. I can see that you like her, aren’t you?”
“I see her as a sister, and I don’t really like girls who are in the same industry.”
“Why?”
“If we’re in the same industry, she wouldn’t be happy if I became the top one, but if you want me to stay
as the second-best, I’ll feel unhappy. It’s different if she’s a sister. I’ll still be happy regardless if I’m the
best or second-best in the industry. I could protect her and make her proud if I’m the best, but if I’m the
second-best, I’ll assist her and become her assistant. So, it’s better to be brother and sister.”
Lucas sounded so rational that it amazed Morty.
“If you don’t look like a seven-year-old kid, I would think that you’re a thousand-year-old witch. What do
you know about relationships?”
Lucas smiled and remained silent after got insulted by Morty. Then, he switched the topic.
“Who kidnapped my brother?”
“Not sure. Mr. Hill didn’t know either. You have to investigate it yourself, but make sure no one sees
you.”
Lucas frowned after hearing what Morty said.
Make sure no one saw him?
Did Morty think Lucas was an invisible man?
Anyhow, Lucas felt a little relief after Morty asked him to investigate it himself.
“I want to visit my great-grandpa.”
“I don’t think it’s possible. Rumour has it that Mr. Shaw is well-protected by my father. Well, protect is a
nicer word to use. I think it’s detention. You don’t hold enough authority to be able to see him.”
Lucas frowned. He felt a wave of anger gushing into his heart.
“Your father is such a trouble.”
Morty spat the water out before he could swallow it.
Well, Lucas might be the only person who dared to name Aron trouble.
“I’ll forget what you’ve said. Don’t go out and call him that.”
“I’m not dumb.”
Lucas then left after telling Morty what he wanted to say.
Morty wanted to say something else, but he gave up in the end. Lucas will grow it like Michele
eventually.
On the other side, an old housekeeper walked into the room after Morty left.
“Mr. Hill, you’ve done so much for Mr. Morty. I’m afraid that he didn’t know any of that.”
“It doesn’t matter if he knows it or not. He had to be more than himself to be able to stay in my place.
Since I’m still around, what I can do is to help him to eliminate as many rivals as possible for him. Did
Jeffrey say anything?”
Aron squinted his eyes.
The housekeeper shook his head and said, “Jeffrey is stubborn. He didn’t want to tell us anything no
matter what we do.”
“Get Blair there.”
The housekeeper was stunned by what Aron said.
“Blair? He is a Hawk. Is he reliable?”
“He’s under Morty.”
Aron squinted his eyes again, then he took a Chinese writing brush and started practising his writing.
The housekeeper knew what Aron meant.
“Sure. I’ll go get it done.”
“Keep an eye on that person. Be sure to find Samuel’s youngest son. Samuel will definitely be enraged
if anything happened to his youngest son. His wife and his power all added up would affect us even if
we’re not their target. We must avoid getting into a war with them.”
“Yes.”
“Any news on Jacob?”
The housekeeper shook his head and said, “We couldn’t find any trace of Jacob like Mr. Morty. I
supposed Jacob’s hiding. Perhaps he didn’t contact us because he thought it’s no longer safe here.”
Aron looked sulky.
“Jacob is my people. I have to make sure that he’s safe. I’ve heard that his wife went to the battlefield
overseas?”
“Yes, Olivia was initially a celebrity. We thought their relationship ended, but who knows she’s a fiery
and forthright person. I’ve also heard that she’s pregnant.”
Aron looked worried after hearing what the housekeeper said.
“Get people to protect her. Make sure that she and her baby are safe. We can’t disappoint our
soldiers.”
“Mr. Hill, she’s surrounded by people from the Green family and Night Elf Empire. We can’t get close to
her.”
Aron then only remembered how Olivia was related to Nicole after hearing what the housekeeper told
him.
