“Probably.”
Nicole worried about what she had witnessed.
“Then we must find Davon now.”
Samuel’s words delighted her but also worried her.
“Is it too early now? What if they notice us?”
“We are abroad, and I believe Leo must have clarified Davon’s identity after a long time. If he fails, he
won’t be qualified to be the king.”
Samuel said confidently.
Nicole kept silent, as she knew it was better to pretend to hear nothing.
“Should we inform Phoenix? They haven’t seen each other for long. She must be excited if she knows
my brother is still alive.”
Nicole looked at Samuel, and he smiled, “You have the final say.”
“It is so kind of you.”
Nicole sincerely praised Samuel.
Samuel said proudly, “So I am. Don’t forget your promise. Stay with me tonight, get it?”
He drawled the last word. Nicole didn’t know if she had an illusion, and she flushed when she heard the
drawled tone filled with tease and ambiguity.
“Come on.”
She really couldn’t flirt with Samuel in front of Martin’s body, and she had lots of things to solve.
Steven turned up when Samuel took Nicole out.
He himself took someone here and frowned as he saw Samuel. He said, “Buddy, don’t you know how
busy I am?”
“Nope.”
Steven felt unhappy seeing the way Samuel swaggered over.
“Miss Nicole, Ashley has come back and she need to rest for a period. You haven’t seen each other for
so long. How about entering the palace and chatting with her?”
Steven’s intention was crystal-clear.
Why did he strive to serve Samuel but got not even a word of compliment? Samuel must have been so
“satisfied”.
Since he helped to solve the mess of trouble, he was tied with the burden so that he couldn’t spare any
time to sleep with his wife, no to mention accompanying her. Still, Steven came to anger him. How
could he stand it?
Nicole, in fact, missed Ashley, but she knew Laurence and Cara’s matter was more important, so she
declined Steven.
“I appreciate your kindness. I’d love to spend time with her this time, but I can’t. We got to leave to deal
with something important.”
“Why are you so hasty that you don’t care to handle the body?”
To Steven, Martin had already been killed by Tim, so he regarded it as trivial and it was time for
relaxation.
Samuel couldn’t know Steven better, but laughed when hearing Nicole’s reply and he rejoined,
“Laurence is here and frenzied, so we only have to take him to find a cure, or things will get worse.”
“Damn it!”
Steven was taken aback.
“Why is he here?”
“Martin did, and we merely knew just now. He has been sent offshore, so we got to go there.”
Samuel thought Evelyn could only utilize the private sailing route, i.e., she probably had mysterious
contact method with Ethan. He was uninterested in it and didn’t bother to ask, for safety came first.
Hearing what Samuel said, Steven dared not leave them here, and hurried to provide a private plane to
send them away.
But Samuel dragged Steven aside before he left.
“What?”
Samuel felt puzzled seeing Steven’s elusive look.
Steven looked at Samuel and said bitterly, “Let Lucas stay away from my daughter!”
Samuel was speechless about THAT, “Can we allow them freedom to deal with it?”
“Shit! Can you stand it if your daughter is hurt by another fucking guy?”
Samuel frowned thinking of that scene.
He was bound to break that guy’s leg.
Then Samuel could empathize Steven, but he could do nothing to interfere with his son’s emotional life,
after all the kid was merely 7. How could he know the damning misbehavior?
“Buddy, don’t make me wrong. It is Yasmeen who at first had a crush on him.”
“Then why do I feel you are proud?”
Samuel couldn’t help laughing.
“No.”
“Damn! I am not an idiot. Why is he so handsome? Or my daughter won’t like him. Look at your son.
He was like as if my daughter would marry him. Listen, I won’t forgive him if he breaks my daughter’s
heart, regardless of his young age.”
Typically, Steven was seen as a father who strived to protect his daughter.
He did know what Yasmeen and Lucas did at the gate. He would ask someone to throw Lucas into the
Pacific to feed fish but for he was Samuel’s son.
Little boy, dare to scold his daughter?
So bold!
Samuel hurried to nod seeing Steven’s crazy look.
“Fine, I will urge him to stay away from your daughter, but I have to say it is none of my business if your
daughter offers to play with my son.”
“Come on! You really think your son is perfect? My daughter also has dignity. Mind your own son’s
business.”
Samuel then waved his hand, “Go away now!”
“So stubborn are you.”
Samuel boarded the plane over smiling.
Nicole didn’t know what they whispered about, but she saw Samuel seemed to be happy and she
asked, “What did you say? Share with me.”
Samuel told her everything he talked with Steven, and Nicole immediately turned silent.
“What?”
Samuel thought Nicole was angry and hurried to say, “Don’t blame him. We have a daughter as well.
Whoever hurts my daughter will be bound upset us.”
“I am okay, but I just think our kid is too young. Both of you don’t have to worry about them too early.”
Nicole replied in an embarrassed tone, followed by a ring of smartphone which frightened Nicole and
Samuel.
