Brian refused to rest, even for a while. Albert and Calvin were worried.
"If you don't have a rest, sit down for a while. Or you won't be able to hold on."
Albert persuaded him.
"Did you catch them?"
Brian now did not feel tired at all, only distressed and hateful. No matter who hurt his Brian's woman,
he would not let it go easily.
"Yes, Morgan had sent them to the police station."
Albert replied.
"Don't worry, Mr. Bennet. We can handle it. We will do our best in the company these days. You can
keep good watch on Winnie, but you can't let Winnie wake up to see a gaunt you. For Winnie's sake,
take a break."
Calvin said so too. He and Albert sat on the chair for a while if they got tired, but Mr. Bennet walked
back and forth.
It was very tiring to work overtime today, but now it had been five hours since the rescue of Winnie.
Brian had been nervous all the time and never sat down for a rest.
In this way, Brian would fall down before Winnie woke up.
"Communicate with the police. Don't spill the news. I must get to the bottom of it. Albert, we also need
to check, you go to arrange people to keep an eye on Penny."
Brian still stood with a gloomy face and worried eyes. He made an order. Winnie had the accident on
her way to see Penny. Although there was no evidence, he always felt that it was related to Penny.
"I'll do it, but sit down first, Mr. Bennet, and I'll do it right away."
The kidnappers had been caught. It would only be a matter of time before the cat was out. The most
important thing now was that Brian must take a break.
"Yes, Mr. Bennet, sit down and rest for a while."
Two people continued to persuade, finally Brian reluctantly sat down.
After sitting for a while he stood up again, until daybreak.
Daenerys received the call last night but kept quiet until the next morning she dropped the children off
at kindergarten and burst into tears at the door of the intensive care unit.
"What is wrong with Winwin? Everything can happen to her. She shouldn't have come back. If she
hadn't, nothing would have happened."
"Winwin, you must hold on. As soon as you recover, leave here and never come back."
Crying, Daenerys said. She felt responsible for Winnie's difficulties. She should not have left Winnie, it
was her did not take good care of her.
"Stop crying, everything is fine. It is only a matter of time to wake up."
Kevin walked over to Daenerys and patted her on the shoulder to comfort her.
Daenerys cried sadly, pressing her head on the shoulder of Kevin.
"You must save Winwin. She has a lot of work to do. She has children to take care of."
"Don't worry, I said it's fine."
Kevin patted Daenerys’ back gently. He felt sorry to see her crying sadly.
"You are the best doctor. You must save her."
Daenerys was desperate and sad. Even if Kevin repeated to ensure that Winnie would be fine, she felt
like she would lose Winnie, so she panicked.
"Don't worry, she will be all right."
Kevin did not know how to comfort her. Daenerys has always been cheerful and optimistic. Now she
was crying for bestie, he did not what to do.
No matter how Kevin persuaded, Daenerys could not calm down. This reality was too cruel for Winnie
to take.
She left Kevin's embrace, went straight to Brian and scolded him loudly.
"It's all your fault. It's all your fault. Don't you know what kind of person your wife is? Why put Winwin in
danger? Don't speak for Penny any more. It must be her, it must be her."
“You are powerful, why can’t you protect her? If you can't protect her, you should let her go. Maybe this
time she'll get over it. How about next time? Can you guarantee there will be no next time?”
Daenerys rebuked him uninterruptedly. It was Brian’s fault. He was greedy, so Winnie encountered
misfortune. If he had left her alone, she would not have been targeted and would not have ended up in
intensive care.
Kevin stepped forward to pull Daenerys’ arm, trying to calm her down but it didn't help.
Daenerys shook off Kevin's hand and continued to say angrily.
"You know, this isn't the first time she's been in danger. Some time ago, she went out alone at night and
got warned by two men, who said that she destroyed other people's homes and that she was the secret
mistress. They said they would kill her if she doesn't leave. So now that it's a fact, you're happy?"
Daenerys now regretted. Winnie told her to keep her mouth shut. If she had told Brian earlier, the
accident might have been avoided.
"A warn?”
Brian frowned and looked at Daenerys in shock.
Daenerys accused him just now and he had nothing to say. It was he who did not do a good job and he
had ignored that point. None of this would have happened if he had taken the bank card and returned it
to Penny.
But he knew nothing of the last thing she said.
Now he remembered what Winnie had said to him. He should have paid more attention. A little caution
would have prevented such a tragedy.
"Well, who do you think would warn her? Who else could it be rather than Penny? Mr. Bennet, you've a
family and a wife. Will you stop messing around with Winwin? She had ups and downs, don't bother
her any more.”
Daenerys’ mood was still excited. Brian knew many things but he had been in favor of Penny. She was
afraid Brian would stand on the side of Penny this time.
"She didn't tell me about it, and if she did, I wouldn't have let this happen."
Brian blamed himself. He knew that it had something to do with Penny, and had sent someone to
investigate. He would not spare Penney.
But things were not as simple as Daenerys thought. If he could leave Winnie, he would have left.
"She told you? What should she told you? Have you ever believed her since you met her?"
Daenerys thought of Winnie’s injustice these days. She could not control her emotions, crying in
hysteria.
"From the moment she met you, you said she had a plan. Hearing what Penny said, you called her a
cheater. What did she cheat you about? Cheating your heart or money? Do you believe what a cheater
says?"
“She slept with you and got scolded, but what did you give her? You never ever gave her a present.
Why should she be a victim? Why should she be bullied by you?"
As she spoke, she rummaged in her bag. Then she took out a bank card and gave it to Brian.
"This is a hundred million you gave her. She told me to give it back to you when I get the opportunity.
Now that she is dying, I think I should give it back to you. This is an insult to her. She is with you not
because of this one hundred million, but because of the children, understand?"
Daenerys was angry, for what Winnie suffered.
Brian stood there, and for the first time in his life, he was not able to say a rebuttal.
Now he suddenly understood that everything was rooted in him. If he could trust Winnie, she would tell
him when she was in danger.
None of this would have happened if he had not allowed her to be wronged, and had put Penny's
affairs to rest earlier.
Instead of a bank card in his hand, he was carrying a load of guilt.
During this period of time, he only focused on his own feelings, but never for Winnie, also forgot that
she was a woman who had her feelings. She had suffered so many grievances and suffered so many
things that should not have happened to her, all because of his selfishness.
“Mr. Bennet, in your heart Winwin is of no importance. She's always the one to take the blame for
everything. Now that she's almost dead, let her go."
Daenerys cried sadly. She knew everything Winnie suffered and she could feel that. At the moment she
felt sorry for Winnie.
Kevin walked to Daenerys, held her shoulders, afraid she would faint.
As for Daenerys’ criticism of Mr. Bennet, he did not stop it. He thought it was right for someone like that
to scold Brian, to sober him up and make him see his heart.
He felt that the moment was just right and it was time to stop.
"Stop now, Daenerys. You're so loud that you're gonna disturb the patients inside. Wait until everyone
is calm."
Kevin said holding Daenerys’ shoulder and forcibly took her away. They sat down on a chair.
Brian frowned and said nothing.
Daenerys was right. It was all his fault. But Daenerys let him away from Winnie, he seemed to be
unable to do that.
Winnie did not wake up in the afternoon. When it was time to pick up the children, Daenerys insisted on
staying in the hospital, and Albert was busy, so Brian could only think of a way.
"Albert, call Butler Lowe to take the children to grandfather's."
The only person who could take care of his children now was his grandfather. Only his grandfather
could let Brian rest assured.
"Mr. Bennet, the chairman is not home these days."
Albert replied, having already made a phone call.
Brian could not let the children know what had happened to Winnie. At least, he could not tell then
before she woke up. But if the children went home, they would be suspicious, so she could only find a
place to let them not doubt.
After much thought, there was only one place left.
"Call Paul to pick them up and say Winnie and I are on a business trip."
"Yes, I will send two children there."
Albert was excited. He could not believe that Brian would send the children to the
suburbs.
