Brian made his words clear, hoping that Wendy heard them clearly, and moreover, he hoped that
Winnie would understand his sincerity.
"I know, I hear you. I know you like Winwin, and I know you care about Winwin. I promise again that I
will not bother you."
Wendy's heart was about to be shattered by Brian's words, the man she loved so much was confessing
his deep feelings to another woman in front of her, which made her embarrassed.
But even then, she had to make such a promise.
Wendy got up because she no longer had the courage to listen to Brian's confession.
"Winnie, Mr. Bennet, I'm sorry."
Wendy said with her head down, and then she left hurriedly.
There were only two people left in the room, and they were silent for a while as their anger eased,
before Winnie realized that Brian was still holding her hand.
"Hands off, you don't have to act since Wendy has gone."
"I'm not acting, I'm not letting go."
Brian stubbornly held Winnie's hand.
"My hand hurts, if you like it, I'll chop it off with a knife and give it to you."
Winnie spoke in anger because there was nothing she could do to, for his grip was so tight.
"Winwin ......"
Brian pulled Winnie into his arms with force before he finished his own words.
"I know you've been waiting for me to say something, been waiting for me to get Wendy to expose. I
know it's late, and I know I've put you through the wringer."
"And I know there's no way you can forgive her, and I know even more that you hate me for not trusting
you. But Winwin, I love you, and it's definitely not an act."
Brian apologized, explained, and blamed himself at the same time.
He blamed himself for speaking up so late, for returning justice to Winnie so late. There were too many
things he was concerned about, and he really couldn't just put everything down at once.
There were back roads for him, but he couldn't block the paths of others because of him. He had to
make everyone happy before he could take Winnie away with him.
"Give me a chance, I promise I'll never have contact with Wendy again, and I promise I'll take care of
Gloria. I want you to give me a chance, please."
Brian hoped that he could gain Winnie's forgiveness.
Although he knew that what he had done was not enough, he hoped that he had Winnie with him to
face the problems and resolve the difficulties.
"I ......"
At this moment, Winnie had a complicated mind. She was indeed waiting for this day, and he finally
knew what she cared about.
With Wendy being revealed, the matter was solved. But there was more between them than just
Wendy and Gloria, Winnie could forgive Brian and she could not be with him again.
Winnie broke free from Brian's arms and retracted her hand.
"This misunderstanding about our breakup did cause me a lot of trauma, and I admit that I hated you
because you sided with Wendy and because of your distrust of me."
"But I also thank you for bringing up the breakup and for making me see a lot of things."
Winnie spoke calmly, sensibly, and articulately.
But it made Brian uneay. He looked at Winnie, whose eyes were slightly red, and he was scared.
"Winwin ......"
He wanted to say something, but Winnie was remained bland and didn't give him a single chance.
"Let me finish my sentence."
"Wendy admitted her mistake, you know where you were wrong, and I know where my grievances lie.
Everyone is clear, and things are over."
"It's all in the past, and it's time for you and I to come to a complete end."
She still couldn't be with Brian, and she still couldn't let Brian give up his quest because of her. More
than that, she didn't want to make Brian lose his family because of her.
"Winwin ......"
Although he saw the determination in Winnie's eyes, Brian still didn't want to give up.
But as he was to speak, Winnie gagged him with her hand.
"I'll say it."
Winnie disguised her strength and removed her hand after making sure Brian wouldn't speak.
"I forgive you for our breakup, and from now on, I'll never hate you again."
"I've thought about it a lot in the time we've been broken up, even without Wendy and Gloria, we
couldn't have been together. So I've spent the last few months getting used to the fact that I broke up
with you, and thankfully I did. I feel like breaking up was the right thing to do, the responsible thing to
do for both of us."
Winnie said everything she wanted to say. She could forgive him, but could not be back ot him.
No one could probably know how she felt how she had come through these few months. The first
person she thought about when she opened her eyes all day was Brian, and the last person she
thought about before going to sleep was also Brian.
She woke up often in the middle of the night, dropping tears in silence. And then at dawn, she had to
pretend that nothing happened and continued to be brave.
Seriously she could not handle it, she was driving herself crazy.
She did not want to experience it again.
"Brian, the last breakup was a misunderstanding, but this time I'm officially proposing a breakup. From
now on we'll each go our own way and no one should bother each other."
Winnie still proposed a breakup with a heartache. Luckily this was the last time, they would be
completely over.
"I don't agree, the breakup isn't just about you, I have a say in it."
Brian gave his objection.
Winnie said she had forgiven him, but her psychological wounds could not be healed so quickly.
Otherwise she wouldn't have not accepted Wendy's apology, or she wouldn't have said the words to
break up.
"Winwin, I know you're thinking of me, and I know you're resistant to my family's relationship. But none
of that is a problem, and I'll fix everything, please give me some time."
Brian couldn't separate from Winnie and he wanted to be with him for the rest of his life.
"But it isn't about you either, you ended our relationship in the first place, so my words have equal
effect."
"I don't need everything, and I haven't thought of a single thing for you. I'm just ......"
"Winwin, you still don't forgive me. What do you want me to do before you can forgive me?"
Brian interrupted Winnie's words.
Brian felt it didn't matter who she cared about, he could do anything as long as Winnie would not leave
him alone.
"Brian, it doesn't matter anymore if I forgive you or not. I used to hate you because I was angry, but
now that we have made everything clear and it proved that I was not wrong, so I don't hate you
anymore."
"Let bygones be bygones, you and I both let go, don't dwell on it."
Winnie desperately tried to hold back the pain inside her. She hurt, but she had to endure it.
"I can't, whether you hate me or not, I can't let it go. Winwin ...... this time ......"
Brian couldn't help but sob when he said this, he had never been scared or overwhelmed like this. He
didn't want to lose Winnie and he had been working hard to make it through.
He didn't want his efforts to fall short, didn't want his loneliness to last a lifetime. So he teared
nervously, crying in front of a woman for the first time in over twenty years.
Brian's tears stung Winnie and pierced her heart.
She loved this man and wished him all the best, but not to wish him grief or tears.
But Winnie was afraid that Brian's tears weren’t shedding for her.
She wanted to open her arms to embrace him to comfort him, but her sanity won out over the mania
inside her. In the end, she did nothing.
Winnie and Brian's conversation ended. In Winnie's opinion, they had no relationship with each other
when they completely broke up. But Brian still wanted to insist and to follow the path he had planned.
The path he was going to take in this life had to be accompanied by Winnie, otherwise there was no
point.
Brian gathered himself and asked Gloria out.
The date with Gloria was on the beach where people were coming and going.
"Why do you ask me to be here, Mr. Bennet?"
Gloria was full of joy, thinking that the beach was a romantic place. So was what Brian was going to
say would be romantic words.
"Because there are a lot of people here, to avoid rumors."
Brian responded indifferently, always looking at ocean without glancing at Gloria.
"What does this mean?"
Gloria asked tentatively, although she didn't know what Brian wanted to say, from his attitude, she knew
she should not expect anything.
"Penny's hospitalization is caused by you, am I right? What did you seek revenge on Penny for? Is
there any hatred between you that I don't know about?"
Brian spoke coldly.
"I ......"
Gloria was speechless, but she was wondering who had told Brian. There were just the three of them
presenting, Penny couldn't say anything, for it was humiliating to her. Then the one who said this could
only be Wendy.
"I don't have any hatred for her, I just unintentionally knew about the things she did to Director
Chambers, and I felt angry for Director Chambers.”
"In a fit of anger I didn't control myself and went over to scold her."
