Emily could not persuade herself to accept it, but she did feel sad about Penny, so she could only give

such an answer.

Since she could not answer his question, she must leave, afraid that Leo would be embarrassed.

Looking at Emily left, Leo could not describe his feeling. He was upset, but he wanted to know how

Emily would forgive him and be with him again.

He had bought flowers and presents, booked movie tickets again and again, and asked her to dinner

again and again, but he was rejected.

He had tried every way, but it did not change anything. Emily still refused to forgive him.

Life was so fragile, time passed fast. The illness of Penny made Leo felt that life was luxury and he did

not think he had much time to waste.

What should he do to marry Emily? Did he have to make her pregnant?

Winnie was sent to the door of the community by Oscar and she insisted on going home by herself.

From the gate of the community to the elevator, Winnie was in a daze. For a while, she thought about

Brian and Gloria, for a while, she thought about Penny’s cancer.

It wasn't until she got out of the elevator and saw a familiar man at her door that she sobered.

Her own affairs were in such a mess that she could not think of anyone else's.

Winnie wanted to speak to Brian, but she did not know what to say, so she pretended that she did not

see him.

"Winwin..."

Winnie input the password silently but Brian opened his mouth.

Brian habitually called Winnie's name, but was interrupted by Winnie in a domineering manner.

"Mr. Brian, please call me Director Chamber."

Winnie had opened the door and was to go in. As she was to close the door, she was stopped by Brian.

"Winwin..."

"I said, call me Director Chambers. Don’t call my name."

Winnie was angry, because this man, who did not love her, called her name.

"Let me in."

Brian pushed the door outside and Winnie pushed the door inside. There was only a gap between the

two people, but Winnie felt separated by thousands of miles.

"I'm sorry, I have a boyfriend. I can’t let you in. We can talk tomorrow."

Winnie leaned on the door with force, trying to close the gap between her and Brian. And she did not

want to see him again.

"Winwin, I have to say it now."

Brian insisted, he could stop Winnie closing the door easily.

He felt sorry for Winnie for what she had done, even if he felt she deserved it, but he wanted to explain

why he did not defend her.

"Don't say my name! How many times I should say that? We have nothing to do with each other, why

call my name?” Winnie shouted loudly, turned around, opened the door and continued to roar.

"Get out of here, now. The breakup was my fault doesn't mean you can do whatever you want to me. I

just failed in love, but I have no reason to bear other things."

Winnie held the door with one hand and pointed at Brian with the other. She was close to break down.

If she had been controlling herself, her tears might have flowed down.

Every time, he came either to scold her or apologize to her, but Winnie could not bear either of it.

She felt that she was going to die, and before she died, she did not want to listen to Brian's cold voice,

and did not want to see his cold face.

"Leave, go back to your world. Get married, have kids and live your life. Please don't bother me any

more except for work."

Winnie pushed the door with force before Brian had any reaction. But Brian actually blocked the door

with his hand and it was clamped.

Brian groaned and then squatted down to cover his hand.

Winnie looked at Brian who was in pain, feeling worried. She squatted down to check his injury.

"Let me see, let me see."

Winnie was anxious, revealing her concern about Brian. Now she forgot that they had broken up. She

stretched out her hand to pull Brian's hand carefully, but again she hurt Brian's hand.

"Ouch."

Brian cried out in pain.

"Sorry, sorry, I just wanted to have a look. I am sorry, I'll take you to the hospital. I'll call Doctor Burns."

Winnie felt distressed, kneeling on the ground to find the phone.

The phone was in her bag and her bag was hung on the door. She came to her bag and reached for

her phone with a shaking hand. She did not know how Brian hurt, she just wanted to call Kevin for help.

She felt bad that Brian got hurt.

When she found the phone, Brian squatted down from behind, and then helped Winnie up.

"No need to go to the hospital, I won’t die."

Brian closed the door with his foot.

His injury was worth it, if not injured, Winnie would not have let him in.

"Let me take a look, and then I'll decide whether to go to the hospital or not."

Winnie's voice was trembling. If it was serious, she would call Kevin.

Brian did not speak, but showed his injured left hand to Winnie.

"It's swollen and bruised. Let's go to the hospital."

Winnie felt distressed about it. Two fingers were bruised and swollen in the same spot. It was not her

fingers, but she could feel the pain.

Winnie could not help but shedding tears, but she kept her head down to avoid being seen by Brian.

"I'm sorry, I... I didn't mean to, I didn't think --"

Because of crying, because of the effect of alcohol, because of her bad state, Winnie could not say a

complete sentence.

"Go to the hospital, now."

Winnie then called and booked a taxi.

"I said no need to go to the hospital."

"I also said you have to go to the hospital. Don’t you have words to say with me? I will listen to you

after you go to the hospital."

Brian insisted, but Winnie insisted too. Winnie could feel relieved only when he went to a doctor.

Brian compromised and obediently followed Winnie to the hospital.

On the way to the hospital, Winnie had been secretly wiping tears. Brian found it, but he didn't say

anything. He had a complex mood, without knowing he should believe that Winnie got a room with

another man or this Winnie who cry for hurting him.

Winnie seemed to have many faces, and he did not know which one of them was true.

He had detailed examination in the hospital. And Winnie felt relieved until determining that his bone

had not been hurt.

She took a deep breath and secretly wiped away her tears.

"I'm glad you are fine. I'm sorry I hurt you."

Winnie woke up a lot and gave a sincere apology.

"Maybe it's time to listen to me."

Brian didn't reject Winnie's apology, but neither did he accept it. He was just saying what he wanted to

say.

Winnie hesitated for a moment.

"Well, go somewhere."

Winnie agreed, as compensate for his injury today.

She was ready for his scolding explanation, or apology. She just needed to listen to him, as long as he

put the words out, Winnie thought it was worth listening to.

"Let's go to the bar and have some drink."

Brian said sensibly, thinking that they had never drunk in a bar calmly.

He wanted to experience how Winnie and Stefan felt when they were in the bar.

Two people came to the bar together, where Winnie and Stefan came last time. Standing in front of the

bar, Winnie knew that Brian chose it deliberately.

Winnie felt he might want to humiliate her in this place.

Winnie felt she was right, because they sat down in the same position.

Winnie gave an ironic smile and then sat down.

When the waiter came, Winnie spoke to him.

"Give me five bottles of wine."

Winnie finished ordering and then looked at Brian.

"This is the same wine that I drank with Stefan. It may not fit to your taste, but you can drink less or not

drink, because Stefan did not drink because he needed to send me back."

Winnie said sarcastically.

Brian said nothing, frowning and waving to the waiter to leave.

Winnie seemed to understand his meaning.

Neither of them spoke, and in a moment there were five bottles of wine on the table.

"Open them all."

Winnie commanded, and then the waiter poured five bottles of wine into the decanter.

Winnie did not remember how much she drank, but she knew at least she had order five bottles.

Since Brian was going to repeat the day, she would have to drink at least five bottles, even if she was

still drunk.

After the waiter poured the wine, Winnie asked him to leave, and then she poured two glasses of wine

herself, put one glass in front of Brian, and held one glass herself.

Whether Brian drank it or not, she had no right to interfere.

"Cheers."

Winnie drank up and then filled it again, but Brian did not touch his glass.

"You have checked the video, or you wouldn't have been sitting in this position."

Winnie did not ask, but said positively.

"You watched the video here, but you didn't watch... Never mind, it's up to you to see what you want to

see. Cheers."

Winnie did not understand the heart of Brian, and at the critical point, she stopped speaking.
