For a moment.
"I think the woman should be Wendy, otherwise I would not be with Wendy."
Brain didn't directly answer, choosing a different way to sidestep the question.
Hearing that, Winnie felt upset
She was just a substitute for any woman in his life. Any woman who came could easily take her place.
Winnie felt unnecessary to listen to the conversation, so she took Luke's hand, left Kevin's office, and
then took the elevator to the first floor.
In the lobby on the first floor, Winnie found a quiet place to call Kevin.
In Kevin's office, Kevin was still warning.
"If it's Wendy, you've given up, don't continue looking for the truth. If Winwin knows, you may break up
and no one could help."
"I have other possibilities, but I'm conflicted. You don't have to worry about Winwin. I won't let her
know."
Brian was still persistent. There was a mystery in his heart that could not be solved, and only he knew
that feeling. He felt if he wanted a peaceful life, he had to solve the problem.
"Why don't you listen to me? I understand what you're doing. Okay, I will leave you alone. You can
keep looking for that woman. But break up with Winwin first, before she gets sad."
Kevin said angrily. It was hard for them to be together, but Brian was looking for another woman.
He even wanted to give up such a Brian, who always disappointed and hurt Winnie. She would not be
able to stand it one day.
No sooner had Kevin finished speaking than the phone on his desk rang. He picked it up and had a
look.
"It is Winwin. Have you turned off your mobile phone? Why is she calling me?"
With that, Kevin adjusted his mood before picked up the phone.
"Winwin."
"Brian said you made an appointment with the doctor for me. What time is the appointment?"
Winnie asked as if nothing had happen, wanting to tell Brian she didn't hear anything, he could go to
the woman as he wanted.
"Didn't Brian tell you?"
Kevin looked at Brian and asked Winnie.
"No, he never called me. Maybe he was busy and I didn't call him."
Winnie did not receive a phone call and even a message from Brian. Now he thought of no one but that
woman.
"He might have forgot. I have a nine o'clock appointment with the doctor. It's half past eight. You can
come."
Kevin hung up the phone and looked at Brian angrily.
"Didn't you say you called her? How can Winwin not know?"
"Didn't I? Did she not see the message?"
Brian looked at the phone in doubt, and found that the last call record with Winnie was two days ago.
The message was never sent.
"I really didn't tell her."
Brian was upset, Winnie must be very worried.
"I don't know what you're thinking. Didn't you get together last night?"
Kevin was disappointed at Brian and regretting helping set them up.
"I went back to the suburbs last night and stayed there. I kept thinking about this and I felt sorry for
Winwin, so I didn't go to her house."
Brian was regretful now. Why did he forget to call Winnie?
After answering Kevin's words, Brian called Winnie.
Winnie sat on the chair downstairs with Luke. As she was to talk about it with Luke, Brian called.
Winnie took a look at the phone and gave it to Luke.
"Son, answer it and say mommy is driving and can’t answer the phone."
Luke looked at his mother sadly and then picked up the phone.
"What's wrong, Daddy? Mommy's driving and can't answer the phone."
"Oh, tell Mommy to drive carefully. Daddy is waiting for you at the hospital in Uncle Kevin's office."
"Got it, Daddy. We'll meet you later."
Luke was not good at lying, but Mommy must have her reason to let him say so.
"Don't think too much, Mommy. Daddy......"
Luke gave back the phone to Winnie and comforted her. Before the words were finished, Winnie
stroked Luke's head and interrupted his words.
"Son, I am sorry, I always put you through more than you should."
"Don't worry about me and Daddy. No matter how it turns out, Daddy and I will never love you less.
Pretend you have not heard anything. Don't tell anyone, not even your sister. If you're a man, you
should take it on for Mommy."
Winnie's words were very tactfully, but Luke could understand.
"Ok, Mommy. I'm a man, I'm your son, it's right that I help you with anything. I won't tell anyone what I
just heard."
"Mommy, will you promise me something, too?"
Luke asked Winnie with expectation.
"What is it?”
"Whatever happens to you and Daddy, don't abandon me and my sister. Don't let us part."
Luke was afraid and really did not want to separate from Mommy.
"Ok, I promise."
Winnie answered the child positively, but there was no confidence.
Brian did not really love her, it was only a whim. So she could not guarantee that he would keep his
promise and give her the two children on the day they broke up.
But she would do her best to keep her two children.
At nine o'clock, Winnie took Luke to Kevin's office by elevator.
"Hello, Uncle Kevin!
Luke first greeted Kevin, and then walked to Brian and embraced him.
"Daddy."
He gave Brian a hug, but he was not enthusiastic. He could not stop thinking about what Mommy and
Daddy had said, so he could not do it like nothing happened.
"Luke."
Brian stroked Luke's head, showing the love to him. Winnie was relieved seeing that. No matter what
kind of attitude Brian had towards her, at least his love for the child had not diminished.
"Am I too late?”
Winnie said softly, just like the thing didn't happen at all.
"No, I'll take you there."
Kevin adjusted his mood, so that Winnie would know nothing.
Winnie did not communicate with Brian, but directly took Luke with Kevin to see the doctor.
The whole examination was very smooth, and Luke was cooperative. Of course, the result of the
examination was good.
"You as a parent did a good job and the child has made a full recovery and is doing well. You can rest
assured that you don't have to re-examine it in the future, as long as you pay more attention to the
child's mood."
The doctor's words were not only to inform Luke's condition, but also to praise the parents.
Winnie smiled happily, no matter how much she paid, as long as the child returned to normal, she was
very happy.
A few people walked out of the doctor's office. Kevin was back to his office, the family of three walked
toward outside the hospital.
"You go to the office. You haven't been there all morning. You must have a lot of work waiting for you."
Winnie spoke first and broke the silence.
"And you?"
Asked Brian.
"I send Luke to Oscar. Oscar helps Luke sign up for an international competition, and it needs Luke to
verify his identity. After that, I let Luke have class from him. I will go to the company later. If Calvin has
something to tell me, ask him to call me."
With that, Winnie took Luke and intended to separate Brian. Then Luke suddenly mentioned the things
last night.
"Mommy last night when we had dinner with Uncle Oscar, he said he is not available today, didn't he?"
Luke said this because he wanted his Daddy put all his attention on Mommy, or Mommy would be with
others.
When sitting on the first floor with Mommy, Luke thought a lot. He suddenly found that any man was
better than Daddy to Mommy.
Thinking this way, he found that he and Megan blindly ask for a complete home, in fact, was a selfish
behavior. They only thought about themselves and had not cared about Mommy's feelings.
"Uncle Oscar called me this morning and said he is available. I will take you there, and after you sign
up, you can stay at Uncle Oscar's place and wait for Mommy to pick you up after work in the evening."
Winnie had completely ignored the existence of Brian. While walking quickly, she told Luke what to do.
"Mommy, let Uncle Oscar come to our home to teach me in the evening, so that it will not affect his
work and he can have dinner at our home. Killing two birds with one stone, ok?"
Luke and Winnie's conversation was not for the same purpose. His only purpose was to attract the
attention of Daddy, hoping his Daddy could not good to Mommy like other men.
"I am not sure, you can discuss with him."
After that, several people had walked out of the hospital. Winnie looked back at Brian.
"My car is over there, I go with Luke."
When Winnie turned to leave, Brian stopped her.
"Winwin, I'll come to your home tonight."
Brian's words made Winnie’s heart chaotic.
He should have said it yesterday. It was not too late to say it today, but the meaning was different.
"Ok."
After that, she left with Luke.
It was noon when Winnie returned to the Bennet Group. As she walked into the office, she got into
work. She had to seize the time to finish the work.
But as soon as Winnie started to work, Brian opened the door and came in.
"Have you had lunch?"
Brian asked in a light tone.
"Yes, I ate at Oscar's before I came back."
