Vanessa was irritable, but Winnie was still calm. Though she had something in mind, but she still
looked calm because she did not want Vanessa to worry about her.
"All the men around me are nice to me, but they are all friends. I can't just marry myself just to anger
Brian."
“Why not? He can find any woman and abandon you whenever he wants. Why can't you find a man?
Why? Because he is rich and powerful?"
Vanessa broke down, because of her disappointment at Brian. She held grievance and then cried out
loud for her sister.
Vanessa was out of control, cried and said disappointing words.
"I thought he was the one who loved you the most from the very beginning, but he has always let me
down. I even treated him as a brother-in-law, but he found a woman and announced to the world to that
his woman is Gloria."
"Why? Bully us for we have no parents to help us?"
Vanessa cried and scolded Brian. At the moment she just wanted to vent her dissatisfaction. She now
hated Brian for his disloyalty to his sister for the pain he brought to her sister.
Hearing Vanessa's complaint and her crying anger, Winnie felt her heart sour. She couldn't concentrate
on driving, so she found pulled over.
Winnie’s eyes grew red, but she could not let her tears flow down in front of Vanessa. She was to
support Vanessa, if she was weak, Vanessa would felt insecure.
Winnie handed the tissue to Vanessa.
"Don't cry, I know you did that for me, I know you love me, but Brian has his purpose. He is also
helpless."
"I promised before I moved to the suburbs that I would not interfere with his life. For the sake of the two
kids, I agreed to this request of Felix. Now that I have agreed, I should keep my word and should
accept that."
"Before the blind date, Brian had already told me about it for fear that I have wild thought. I have
nothing to complain about."
Winnie told Vanessa all about it. She just wanted to tell Vanessa that it was expected and it would
happen definitely. No one could change that, including Brian.
"Sister, I know, I know everything. I know he has to go on a blind date and get married as his
grandfather wanted. I also know that Brian may be helpless, but how could he not consider your
feelings, how he could tell the world he has a girlfriend short after a blind date? Sister, does he not
know you will be distressed? Does he not know you will be laughed at by friends? Does he not know
you will be embarrassed to see friends?"
"He doesn't care about your feelings because he doesn't have you in heart. Don't lie to yourself
anymore. He doesn't love you as much as you say he does. He just wants you to bring up the kids.”
Vanessa cried from beginning to end, disappointed.
Vanessa knew that Brian could not change anything, but he did not have to make it public to embarrass
her sister.
"Don't cry. I'll think about it. I'm gonna break up with him. Venassa, I do everything for Luke and Megan,
so I do not feel wronged. I wouldn't blame Brian if he was with me for the sake of the kids."
"As long as the kids are good, I think everything is worth it,"
Winnie comforted Vanessa and herself. Tears had been quietly fallen. She wiped it off for fear that
Vanessa would see it.
"This situation is temporary. I'm not going to live like this my whole life. Don't worry, one day I will find
my happiness."
Winnie comforted Vanessa simply, because she did not know where to find her own happiness.
She did not know who would give her happiness if she left the kids and Brian.
She drove back alone to the suburbs after sending Vanessa to school.
Actually, she was in a bad mood this day. She wanted to go back to her home and cried and released
herself. But if she didn't go back to the suburbs today, the Bennet family would worry about her.
So she had to go back no matter how painful her heart was.
She was the most miserable, but she kept comforting others one after another. She was very tired, not
physically, but mentally.
Although Vanessa said angry words, some words were reasonable. Brian and Gloria were together, but
it did not have to be known by everyone, but blocked completely.
But Brian didn't do so. He ignored her in order to make his grandfather feel at ease. Perhaps true as
Vanessa said, Brian did not love her at all, or did not love her as she imagined.
Maybe he really kept her for the sake of the kids in the name of love.
Alas...... There was no use thinking about it. When she moved to the suburbs, all she could think about
was the kids. She had nothing to do with anyone or anything except the kids.
Winnie stayed outside the villa for a long time, taking a moment to collect her emotions before driving
into the villa.
When she walked into the living room, she found everyone was there, including Brian.
"Mom is back."
Megan ran to her, followed by Luke.
"Mom, we have had dinner. How come you're back late?"
"I went to see Aunt Vanessa and we had dinner out."
"Have you finished your homework?”
Winnie talked to the kids like nothing happened, but Rufus felt distressed for her.
"They have not, Luke, Megan, go upstairs to do homework."
Rufus wanted two kids to walk away. Winnie understood Rufus's meaning and told two kids to go
upstairs.
"Go and do your homework. I will check it later."
Two kids went upstairs obediently. Seeing that, Winnie knew that they had no learned about Brian’s
news.
But it was good, or they would cry and worry.
After two kids left, Winnie came to Brian and sat down beside him.
"Do you have something to say, Rufus?"
Winnie spoke first, so as not to embarrass everyone.
"Winwin, what happened today..."
Rufus was guilty and did not know what to say.
"Brian was thoughtless about what happened today and he should have controlled it in time. Now
everyone knows about it and he makes you sad..."
"Rufus, I'm fine. There was nothing wrong with Brian. Sooner or later it will be known, better sooner
than later."
“Brian told me about it last night, I can understand him, and I know what he is thinking and what he is
going to do. So I'm not sad."
Winnie said softly, said as if she was in control of all this. However, she had not expected any of this.
"Winwin, it was not Brian made the news, don’t overthink about it. He was force to have a blind date,
but he loves you."
Stella explained, but she felt sorry for Winnie.
How could Winnie not be sad? Which woman could accept that her man went on a blind date and
made it all known?
"Stella, I did not overthink about it. I know he was forced to have a blind date. Brian said that the one
he loved most was always me, so I don't care who made the news, as long as it doesn't affect the work
of Brian and Gloria."
Winnie said generously and it was against her heart.
Now she thought was a good liar, who was as good as those professionals.
However, there was a hidden implication in this sentence, suggesting that Brian could make another
Penny, but she was no sure if they could understand her.
If it wasn't Brian, then it was two left. One was Felix and the other was Gloria.
Felix was likely to do such a thing in order to promote the progress, but Gloria was likely to do so too.
Winnie was confused.
Gloria said she had a boyfriend, but she didn't say anything about the news. She was a model and a
public figure, and she had a lot of fans.
With such a thing happened, the broker unexpectedly did not explain, or block the news, allowing the
gossip to spread like wildfire.
So she thought it was likely that Gloria made it.
"Winwin..."
Brian wanted to explain, but Winnie refused to hear that.
"I'm really fine. I know everyone's worried about me, but I really am ok. I was ready for everything
before I came here. And no matter what happens, I can accept it."
"But I have demands."
Winnie looked at Brian seriously.
"I don't want the kids to know about it if you won’t marry her. I don't want them to cry. I don't want them
to be sad. Gloria's fans will search all your information and I might be dug out, but I don't want to be the
enemy of all Gloria's fans and be attacked by them."
That was her bottom line. She could be sad, but she didn't want to put her children through that much
at such a young age. She could be hurt by Brian, but never wanted to take the blow from Gloria.
"You guys talk. I'll check the kids' homework."
Winnie got up and left. She had expressed her thought and did not want to involve in the rest.
After Winnie left, the living room fell silent. It was Stella who finally broke the silence.
"Winwin is pitiful. Brian, you have not dealt with it well today but embarrassed her. Have you ever
considered her feelings?"
Stella could not help but complain.
"Winwin pretended to be find and she was sour in heart."
Joshua was not an eloquent man, but at that thought that Winnie pretended to be tough, he could not
help saying.
"Brian, go and comfort Winwin. Explain to her and she will feel better."
Joshua added.
