Brian moved from the chair by the bed to sit on the edge of the bed, holding Winnie's hand without
letting go and gave Winnie a forceful embrace.
Whether she was waiting for his comfort or not, he had to give him the warmth to soothe her panicked
heart.
"It's my fault, if I hadn't left, it wouldn't have happened. Never again will I leave you alone."
Brian blamed himself for his momentary negligence and carelessness. He had also given the
bodyguard a half day off, thinking that he was capable enough to protect Winnie, he thought that he
could always be by Winnie's side.
But it was such a momentary oversight that almost led to a lifetime of regret.
Brian's sudden hug surprised Winnie, but the surprise warmed her and made her relaxed.
Winnie did not blame anyone, for no one was obliged to take care of her in every way.
She wanted to tell Brian that he didn't have to blame himself, but her voice got in the way.
Since so, she gave up, but just enjoyed the comfort, having the panic driven away.
Her head was lying sideways on Brian's shoulder, and she wanted to sleep. Brian then whispered in
her ear.
"Never see Penny again, it's not worth losing your life because of her, it's not worth leaving me and the
kids behind because of her. She has gone crazy, people with mental problems must be kept away."
"For so long, you've been trying to change her, even forgiving her many times. But she didn't take it to
her heart, instead she thought you had ulterior motives."
"Stop being silly, her life is destined by God. What will happen to her has long been ordained by fate, it
is not for you to change."
"A scum like Penny is not worth it, even for the sake of the children, for the sake of Vanessa and your
aunt, you can't even be near Penny."
Brian repeatedly stressed Winnie to stay away from Penny and never wanted her to see Penny again.
Penny was a devil who had lost her mind and gone crazy. Winnie was too kind to deal with a devil like
Penny.
Winnie listened attentively and also learned the lesson from this time. She was not a saint and she
could not change Penny’s fate.
In that case it was up to God, she just had to mind her own business.
Though resentful, she was disappointed.
Thinking about all the times before, it seemed like this was the only time she had taken Brian's advice.
She had listened to it before, but had never thought about doing what Brian said.
It seemed one could not be too stubborn or too egotistical. There were some things that others see
more clearly and see more thoroughly than they do.
Winnie once again felt the warmth from Brian and unconsciously relaxed.
With these warm words of his, she was not afraid of anything, and the panic and fear she had just felt
melted away instantly.
Just as the two were in a deep embrace, Daenerys pushed the door in.
She didn't expect to see this scene in front of her, embarrassed but inexplicably happy. What did this
scene mean? Did it mean they were back together?
That was what she was thinking, but she couldn't jump to conclusions yet without hearing Winnie's
confirmation.
"You guys can end this, Brian, are taking the opportunity when Winwin is sick. How can you just hug,
don't you know that men and women should keep distance?"
Daenerys defused her embarrassment and teased.
If Winnie forgave Brian, Brian would definitely make it known and would definitely argue with Daenerys
that he was not taking advantage.
But Daenerys didn't wait for Brian's defense, or the result could only be disappointing.
"You're just in time, talk to her, can't put her to sleep."
Brian let go of Winnie. Daenerys' words didn't make him uncomfortable, and he knew that Daenerys
was joking. It was just that without Winnie's forgiveness, he didn't dare to talk nonsense yet.
Winnie was slightly embarrassed, even though she was best friends, but she had clarified more than
once that she and Brian had no relationship. It must be a strange thing for two people to hug each
other.
She wanted to say hello to Daenerys, but she couldn't say a word. The sleepy feeling just now was
also alleviated a bit because of Daenerys’ arrival.
Winnie patted her hand on the seat next to her own, gesturing for Daenerys to sit down.
"Oh, how you got yourself into this mess?"
Daenerys walked over to the hospital bed and sat down.
"I already called Oscar when I came here. If you need money, why don’t you talk to us?"
"I'm no plutocrat, but I can help you get money."
"Whatever you ......"
Daenerys nagged Winnie about her self-reliance, complaining that her not asking for help.
Winnie knew she would say that and started typing on her phone as soon as she said the first
sentence.
And at that moment, Brian went to the side to answer his phone, so his attention wasn't on their side.
Winnie typed the words and sent them directly to Daenerys, and then gestured with her eyes for
Daenerys to look at her phone.
Daenerys took out her phone and raised her eyes at Winnie in confusion when she saw the first
sentence, before continuing to read on.
"Don't say anything, I don't want Brian to know what comes next."
"I bought my parents' villa back, so I used some money. Since I didn't want Brian to know, I didn't tell
him."
"You know me, the thing I hate the most is owing people money. The money for the house was the
start-up money for the software I am developing with Brian, and I am anxious to pay that back, and I
worked day and night."
"I thought I could, after all, I'm in much better shape than I used to be. But I didn't expect to get sick,
and I didn't expect to be brought to the hospital."
"Don't worry, I'll have my money sorted out soon. I'll put a mortgage on the house and once the bank
gives me the money, I won't have to feel any stress."
Winnie sent message one after another.
That was good, lest Brian overhear.
Daenerys finally understood what was going on, and Oscar told her that he didn't know why either, only
that it was because of the money.
Daenerys smiled happily after reading it, because she had finally fulfilled one of her wishes and bought
back her family's house.
"Congratulations!"
Although it sounded small, it interpreted the different happiness of both Winnie and Daenerys.
Winnie couldn't speak but she accepted Daenerys' congratulations.
"If you need money, talk to me, If I don't have enough, Emily and Leo will help. You can't make it
difficult for yourself like this, and you can't push yourself even harder. If you are sick, how can you
make money?"
Daenerys had to dictate it again and again, she was afraid that the loan would not go well and that
Winnie would have to worry about the money.
She knew the reason why Winnie didn't want to use Brian's money, knew that she didn't want to have a
little money involvement with Brian. But everyone had hard times, and borrowing money was ok.
"Ok!"
Winnie nodded her head in agreement while sending another message to Daenerys.
"I went to the storage room at my house looking for my suitcase but I failed to find it, did you see it
when you came back from abroad?"
Winnie always took it to her heart and kept trying to find a chance to ask Daenerys about it.
Because she came back in a hurry back then, there were some things she didn't have time to bring
back, and later on, it was all sent back to her by Daenerys. So she felt that Daenerys could provide
some information to her.
"The suitcase? Which one?"
Daenerys' voice was not loud, but she had forgotten about Brian's presence.
Brian's call continued, but he also faintly heard Daenerys talking about the suitcase.
"A black cartoon patterned suitcase that should contain clothes and some of your study materials."
Winnie was so impressed with the suitcase that she had been trying to find it.
Daenerys mused.
"Are you talking about the black suitcase with the tomcat pattern?"
Daenerys only remembered that Winnie had this one cartoon suitcase, because the tomcat was her
favorite back then.
Winnie nodded repeatedly when she heard that, and her eyes showed a glow of surprise.
"That suitcase is what I brought back for you, as I recall. I mailed back everything else that I could, and
I threw away anything that wasn't worth mailing. Since this suitcase had your favorite tomcat, I brought
it back with me when I returned home."
Daenerys clearly remembered the suitcase, because Winnie liked it and she brought it back even if it
was troublesome.
Winnie wanted to find it and now she steadied when she heard that the suitcase was still there.
She didn't bother Daenerys and let her continue.
"When I came back with the suitcase, you were no longer in B City. So this suitcase has been sitting at
my house, and it's at my parents' house right now."
"My parents are out on vacation, I'll pick it up when they get back."
Winnie took a deep breath of relief after determining the whereabout of the suitcase.
Then she smiled and typed it to Daenerys.
"There's no rush, and I'm not in a hurry. I'll put it at your house for now, and I'll pick it up when my
house is packed up and we moved in."
Winnie was in no hurry, after all, there was nothing important. She just wanted to keep her inexplicable
heart grounded.
The two men were talking, one typing and the other talking.
Brian didn't see the message Winnie sent to Daenerys, but from Daenerys’ words, he heard an
important message, that Winnie had a crush on the tomcat.
He didn't expect Winnie's teenage love to be a tomcat, and Brian was even a little envious of the
tomcat being able to that acquire Winnie's exclusive favor.
Daenerys' arrival effectively eased Winnie's inner panic, and although Winnie didn't mention it, the
tomcat seemed to be the best reason for her to forget about the panic.
Winnie was tired, and it was time for Daenerys to leave.
After letting Winnie lie down and sleep, Brian called for a nurse to watch Winnie, while he himself left to
catch up with Daenerys.
At the elevator door, Brian caught up with Daenerys.
"What, what do you mean? She's going to kill Winnie again?"
