Winnie was in a better mood, but she still wanted to control her heart, so that she would not miss Brian,
at least to leave some room for herself.
After a long day at work, it was finally time to knock off. They agreed to have dinner together before,
but as Winnie opened the door of the office to find Brian, she saw Wendy walking into the president's
office.
Looking at Wendy wearing a black hoodie, Winnie thought of Brian said that the woman was in such
dress.
Brian had said that Wendy might be the woman who saved his life. For the sake of saving his life, for
the sake of the two people's feelings for many years, it should be natural for them to get back together.
Winnie left Brian alone and returned to her office.
Because of the sudden appearance of Wendy, because of her own wild thoughts, she was upset again.
Winnie had had enough this kind of self-abuse and suspicion. What should she do? How she could live
a quiet life? How could she face everything without no waves in heart?
In Brian's office.
"Wendy, don't come here without an appointment again. I don't have time to think about Klara. And I
have found someone to take her place. There is no vacancy."
It was obvious that Brian was annoyed by the arrival of Wendy. But looking at Wendy’s familiar dress,
Brian refrained to get angry.
"Brian, can’t Winwin accept it? If she can’t accept it, I'll go apologize to her. Now Klara is really pathetic.
She has no husband she has to carry everything by herself. She must have great mental pressure. She
will be much better if she had a job to take the pressure off."
Wendy said. Last time Brian was shaky, but now he refused. It seemed true as Klara said, it was
Winnie's problem.
As for Klara's family, Brian knew it better than anyone else. He knew that it was really difficult for Klara
to take care of four old people and a child by herself.
But even if it was difficult, she can't devoid of human nature and moral. Klara was difficult, but Winnie
was more difficult than her. Why Winnie could be upright in such difficult condition?
"Wendy, you think too much. It has nothing to do with Winwin, and you needn't bother her. I gave Klara
more than one chance, but she didn't take it seriously and didn't take my kindness into her heart."
"If I give her another chance, I would have planted a time bomb for myself. You don't have to come to
me about this again. I won't give her another chance."
Brian refused cruelly.
After Klara left, she did not refuse the compensation he offered, but accepted all. Since she accepted,
Brian had nothing to worry. Even if Klara did nothing, the money would be enough for her whole family,
even for their next life.
"Brian..."
"If you're talking about Klara, you can leave now."
Brian coldly interrupted Wendy.
In fact, Brian had thought about this decision repeatedly. One reason was that Winnie could not forgive
Klara, and the other reason was that Klara did not repent and did not realize that she had done wrong.
If she had realized she was wrong, she would have cut off her relationship with Wendy as Laura did.
But seeing that Wendy again and again interceded for Klara, he knew that Klara and Wendy still had
close contacts.
Brian felt that if he gave another chance to Klara, it was to give himself trouble.
Seeing that Brian had strong attitude, Wendy did not dare to say anything more. It didn't seem to be as
easy as she had expected.
"Well, then, I won't say it."
Wendy was silence after indicating her attitude, but she did not intend to leave.
Brian remembered that he had appointment with Winnie, but he wanted to asking Wendy a few
question.
"Wendy, when we went together, did we have a car accident or something?"
Brian really wanted to smooth the wave of doubts in his heart, so he had to put off his appointment with
Winnie.
"Car accident?”
Wendy felt confused and did not understand why Brian asked such a question.
"I don't remember. It's been so long that I've forgotten it."
Wendy gave a vague answer, Brian felt no value of it.
Brian was disappointed and looked at the time. He did keep Winnie waiting for a while, so he did not
continue to ask.
"Go back, Wendy, I have things to do."
Brian said impolitely.
"Oh, I won't bother you then. Go ahead and I have to go back to the hospital. The doctor doesn't even
know I am out."
Wendy got up. She deliberately mentioned the hospital to show her vulnerability.
"You are still in the hospital?"
Brian asked.
"No, I checked yesterday, there is still a shadow on the lung."
Speaking of her illness, Wendy was in low spirits. She wasn't lying about her lung, but the doctor
allowed her out of the hospital, and it was her own problem if she didn't discharge.
"Be careful, don't come out. If you make it worse, it's even more troublesome."
Brian expressed his concern, which touched Wendy.
She looked at Brian in surprise. Because she was touched and wronged, her tears suddenly flew out.
"Thank you, Brian, for your concerns. Thank you for forgiving me. I thought you wouldn't care about me
for the rest of your life.”
Wendy wiped away tears as she spoke. Brian could not bear to see it.
"The past is the past. We can still be friends even if we break up. Wendy, go back and get rest."
"Ok, I am going back. Sorry to have bothered you so long."
Wendy walked out in tears, which was seen by Winnie.
Winnie had been standing by the window since she returned to the office, not deliberately wanting to
see something, but wanting to find Brian after Wendy left.
To her surprise, she saw Wendy walked out from Brian's office wiping tears.
What was going on? It was totally different from last time.
Winnie walked out of the office and directly pushed the door of Brian’s office, she saw Brian who had a
black face.
She was stunned for a moment as if she had seen nothing, and then she spoke.
"It is the time, shall we go?"
"Ok, I put the papers away."
Winnie's words made Brian ease his mood.
Winnie did not ask anything. If she asked, she would not be an open-minded man as Wendy.
They came to a top class western restaurant. When they finished ordering, Brian mentioned Wendy.
"Wendy came, so I was late, or we should have almost finished our meal."
"Oh, I saw her came into your office. Otherwise I would have gone to your office to hurry you up."
Winnie did not conceal it. Brian mentioned it, she thought it was respect to her, so there was no need to
cover up anything.
"Why didn't you ask?"
Brian was surprised.
"You told me even if I didn’t ask."
Winnie raised the corners of her mouth and answered with smile.
"She came to plead for Klara again, and she said..."
"Brian, let Klara come back if you want to, or you'll always feel indebted to her husband. Even if you
give her enough money, you don't think you'll get a life back."
Winnie knew Brian well, she knew it was difficult for Brian without second thought.
"I refused. Klara and Wendy have been in contact and Klara has been using Wendy. She doesn't
repent at all, and if I bring her back, there'll be trouble."
Brian felt it difficult. Indeed as Winnie said, it was because of his guilt for Spencer. But there was no
change in his mind, unless Klara realized her mistake.
"Oh, you refused. If they're still together, it seems like they still have grudge against me. Klara is really
scheming. She treats me as her worst enemy. Do you think I made mistakes?"
Winnie asked, but she was surprised by Brian's refusal. She did not know his refusal was because he
felt distressed that Wendy was used by Klara, or because he was afraid that she got hurt again.
"You made mistakes? No, If there's a mistake, it is because I love you. When Penny and I were
together, she knew I didn't like Penny, so there wasn't so much hatred. My heart has a resting place
ever since you appeared. She is so sensitive that she knew I loved you long before I did.”
"After all, it's because I'm in love with you that she sees you as the enemy."
Brian took the responsibility on himself, but if Klara had a correct attitude and had a clear knowledge of
herself, these things would not have happened and it would not have hurt Winnie indirectly or directly.
Brian lifted his eyes and looked at Winnie, but Winnie was staring at him with sharp eyes.
"What, did I say wrong?”
"Yes, what you said gave me a feeling that I should not be loved. Do you regret it?"
Winnie was not angry this time, but just naughty, trying to make herself relaxed.
However, Brian's reaction was beyond Winnie's expectations.
He reached out and took Winnie's hand on the dining table, then replied with a straight face.
"Falling in love with you is the most regretless thing I have ever done in my life. I think you are a curse
that will never be removed once I put it on."
Brian stared at Winnie with affectionateness, but Winnie did not know how to deal with it.
His words were so warm that she could forget all the unpleasant things and release all the feelings
hidden in the bottom of her heart. However, how many of his words were true, and how much should
Winnie love to respond to that?
"I am caught off guard by your sudden nauseating words."
Winnie could only say so, because she dare not put the most authentic thought to Brian.
She did not want Brian to say he loved her, but the position in his heart. The difficulty was comparable
to exploring the mysteries of the stars.
