Winnie said in a low voice. Last night, he had lost a lot of energy. He did not have the strength to speak
loudly.
"Luke, you are brother, coax sister. If you kept crying, I will cry. You don't want me to cry, do you?"
Even though they were five-year-olds, they were intelligent and thoughtful, but this trick worked for
them. They were kind and sensible.
"Don't cry, Megan, Auntie will be worried."
Luke wiped his tears with his hand and wiped Megan’s tears with the other.
"Well, I don't cry, but Mommy, don’t you hurt?"
Megan seemed to be difficult to control her emotions. Brian looked distressed and directly picked up
Megan.
"Mommy just said it won't hurt if you don't cry."
"Then I won't cry."
It took Megan’s great effort to stop the tears.
"Did Mommy meet someone bad?"
Megan adjusted her mood and asked. She wanted to be close to Mommy, but she endure, afraid of
hurting Mommy.
"No, I hurt myself carelessly."
Winnie could not tell it to the children and could not let such a young mind to carry too heavy things.
"Auntie, be careful. If you hurt, Megan and I will be sad."
Luke leaned on the bed and took Winnie's hand. In this way he felt her wound not hurt.
"OK, I must be careful in the future."
After Winnie chatted with the children for a while, Brian chimed in.
"It's time for school. I'll take you to school."
Brian put Megan down. He had been holding her because he felt distressed and he was afraid of
Megan’s rushing to Winnie.
"Daddy, can we have a day off? We need to be with Auntie."
Luke did not want to leave.
"No, you will disturb her rest. By the end of the week, when Auntie is much better, you can stay here all
day."
Brian decisively refused. With the two children here, it had a certain risk for Winnie. He would not allow
that risk to exist.
Brian let Albert send the two children away, and then Kevin came in with a female nurse.
"Time for a dressing change. How are you feeling today?"
Kevin thought that Winnie's condition must be better day by day, but found that her face did not get
better.
"I am fine."
Winnie answered faintly.
The nurse began dressing Winnie's wound, peeling off the gauze and frowning.
"Did you touch your wound? Why is it bleeding again?"
The nurse asked doubtfully.
"Bleeding? Not the day before."
Kevin heard the nurse's words and went forward to see, regardless of Brian’s opposition.
He had to check to see if it was bleeding inside or just from the suture.
And Brian was the most clear what was going on. Last night Winnie hurt the wound but did not say a
word.
After examination, Kevin determined that the bleeding was caused by the tear at the suture. The
amount of blood was not much and there was no big problem, but it would affect the time of recovery.
"It's no big deal, but it's easy to get infected if you're bleeding like this, and then you will be in trouble.
Be careful. Why can't you take care of her? What can you do in addition to earn money?"
Kevin said these words to Brian, no matter if the cause of the bleeding was Brian, he could not shirk
the responsibility.
But it was Winnie who answered.
"Don't blame him. I should have made it accidentally when I turned over my body. I didn't expect it
would bleed."
Winnie said in a low voice. She was self-willed and could not control her emotions. The responsibility
should be borne by herself and had nothing to do with it.
From now on, she had nothing to do with Brian, while she would help him with all her heart, which was
the way she loved him.
"You still speak for him! If you turned over and he did not help, why should he stay here? Let someone
else take care of you."
Kevin as a doctor could not forgive Brian's negligence. They were not aware of what kind of
consequences the wound split would cause, but he was very clear.
In this way, the biggest impact was on the patient, her recovery time would be delayed, and she would
have to endure a longer period of pain.
"I'll pay attention to it, stop nagging."
Brian did not pass the buck, because it was his fault. He guaranteed again and again that he would
take good care of Winnie, but she hurt was always because of him.
While several people were talking, the nurse had changed the medicine and wrapped the wound with
gauze again. Before Winnie could put on her hospital gown, the door of the ward was suddenly pushed
open.
Leo hurried in with a look of worry.
"Winwin, what's wrong with you?"
Brian frowned as he saw Leo. He rushed to Winnie's bedside, pushed the nurse away and helped
Winnie put on the hospital gown.
"Leo, how do you know?"
Winnie asked in a low voice. She motioned to Brian to lift the hospital bed.
"I called you but your phone was off. I knew it until I called Daenerys this morning. Why not tell me
about such a big thing?"
Leo was very anxious and did not say hello to Brian. Seeing Winnie's face was pale and wounded all
over, he was both distressed and angry.
He was angry that Brian did not take good care of Winnie, so that she suffered such a serious trauma.
"I knew you were on a business trip, so I didn't tell you for fear of affecting your work. Don't worry. I'm
fine now. I'll be able to leave the hospital in a few days."
Winnie said gently and with a smile on her face.
Winnie was aware of the business trip of Leo. She thought it was not necessary to tell him and she did
not want to affect his work. Now Leo was here, which made Winnie embarrassed.
"You got serious injuries, I am worried about you for sure. Are you better now?"
Leo's eager mood had eased. He did not understand why he was always on a business trip when
Winnie needed help, why Brian could always be with Winnie.
"Much better. I'll be discharged in a few days."
Winnie was still whispering. As long as she used a bit of force, she could feel the pain coming from the
wound.
"Leo, Winwin can't speak for a long time now. She is still very weak. The children bothered her this
morning and she was already exhausted. You better come tomorrow."
Brian said indifferently, driving Leo away.
He was worried about Winnie.
"Ok, Winwin, take a rest, I will come over when I have time."
Leo did not care about Brian's words, just because he also worried about Winnie. But he coult not
leave yet.
"Mr. Bennet, if you don't mind, let's go out and talk."
There are some words he must say to Brian, now for Winnie, he was not afraid of the forces of Brian.
Brian looked sullen and did not speak. He left the ward first. Leo said goodbye to Winnie and followed
him out.
"What's the matter, Brian’s rival in love?"
It was not the first time Kevin met Leo, but it was the first time he found Leo lost his demeanor, for
Winnie.
Kevin was a man, and he understood men. Once a man lost his mind for a woman, he had fallen into
the whirlpool of love.
"What do you mean by rival? I have no boyfriend."
Winnie ironically said. No matter who was the rival, it had nothing to do with her. She was still single
and nobody liked her.
"No boyfriend? Those two guys went out to fight for you and you said you didn't have a boyfriend?"
Kevin did not understand Winnie's statement, but she really did not have a boyfriend. After all, the
relationship between her and Brian was only transactional.
"No, Leo is a stable person. No matter how Brian lost his temper, he will not fight."
Winnie knew Leo well.
Leo and Brian came to the safe passage of the hospital, where no one would be there, except for the
two of them.
"Mr. Bennet, I will go to the point. I heard from Daenerys that the accident happened happened to
Winwin had something to do with Penny. You are also to be blamed for the wickedness of Penny."
"So don't keep Winwin around. You can't give her happiness, you can't give her a complete home, you
can't even guarantee her basic security. I can't figure out why you keep her around."
"Let her go. She is a good person and doesn't deserve this."
Leo said, going to the point. He just wanted to let Winnie be safer, have a better life. Even if she didn't
like him and would not be with him, he hoped that she could be happy.
Only to see the happiness of Winnie made his guilt less.
"Don’t worry about us. I won't let her go through such things again. Whether this has anything to do
with Penny, it is still under investigation, and I can't make a conclusion so early. I won't let go of her."
Brian knew that Leo called him out for this. Now no matter what he could not let go of Winnie. If he let
her go, he feared that he would never find her back.
"Mr. Bennet, it's selfish of you to do this, you know? Do you love her? If you don't, let her go. If you love
her and cannot give her happiness, you should also let her go. I don't know what happened between
you and Penny. All I know is that Penny is a wicked person. If you stay with her, Winwin will come to
harm again."
"You must not love her, if love her, you will never bear to see her again and again get hurt."
"When you return to Penny, you will put her aside. Think how sad she must be. Mr. Bennet, I've been
there before. I've broken her heart. I only hope you don't regret it, as I do, for hurting her all over."
Leo said angrily. He felt that even if Brian loved Winnie, they would not have a good ending. Separating
now was the most sensible thing to do.
"I know all that. I know what I'm supposed to do."
Brian coldly said and stared at Leo before he left.
He knew better than anyone that he was selfish. He forced Winnie to stay around. There would be a
certain risk and there would not be a good ending.
But now he could not do without Winnie. There were a lot of things had not been clear, he must keep
Winnie around.
