Even so he did not want to give up Winnie, but wanted to protect her, wanted to give her all happiness.
It was a kind of pleasure, and not every man got that opportunity.
"Don't you wait for me or say anything like that. You'll burden me."
Winnie hurried to stop him., She did not expect Stefan would be so persistent. She thought he would
give up, but he said he would wait.
"Stefan, you like me, you should know that it is not easy to give up a person. It is even more difficult for
me to give up Brian. I'll wait as long as I live. I'll never forget him."
"I can't be selfish and let you stay single for me, or I will not feel relieved for the rest of my life."
“Change your target. If you are obsessed with me, I can only stay away from you and keep a distance
from you. Do you want our relationship to become so stiff that we can't even be friends?"
Winnie could only say so.
She didn't want to be restless all her life, and she didn't want to be with someone she didn't love. She
would rather be single.
"Winwin, I don't want our relationship to become strange, but I don't want to give up on you. I did
everything of my own accord, and you have nothing to do with it. I wouldn't blame you for waiting my
whole life."
Stefan was anxious, if he pushed too hard, Winnie would stay away from him. But if he did not say a
word, Winnie would not know his mind.
"You don't blame me but I blame myself. I have burden now. If I would have known your persistence, I'd
rather not have known you. Stefan, stop holding on. You deserve better."
"If you still set your heart on me, I'll have to leave this city."
Winnie said and stood up.
"Stefan, we can be friends. If you think otherwise, we shall have no more intercourse."
Winnie gave her opinion for the last time and stepped away.
These days she had been upset, coupled with Stefan’s burden to her, she really wanted to walk away
like her aunt did.
She was so tired that she wanted to cry. She can't be with Brian, but she can't forget him. She had no
feeling for Stefan, but he was determined to pursue her.
Her life was messed up because of relationship, and she did not want Stefan to be hurt in the process.
But she could not think of a solution, so escape was not the best way.
Winnie had been walking forward, but she knew that Stefan's eyes did not leave her.
When she came to the door, she saw Brian standing there with a black face.
She was going crazy, and now Brian showed up, did these two people really want her to disappear?
Winnie looked at Brian, didn't say anything and opened the door.
She didn't stop Brian from coming in, because she wanted Stefan to see her and Brian together.
When she walked through the door, Winnie stopped her pace until she made sure that Stefan could not
see them.
"You don't have to go to my house, say it here, or I will go home."
"There's another door over there. You can get out there."
Winnie said with her finger at the back door, afraid Stefan saw Brian.
"I will tell you when I get your house."
Brian said in a cold voice and took Winnie’s hand and walked toward the elevator.
"Say it here, let go of me."
Winnie shook off the hands of Brian with force, but she failed.
She now hated the physical contact and the way she reacted. Her words could deceive herself, but not
her heart.
She even felt the urge to rip her heart out and lecture it, telling it not to be happy due to this situation
and this man who didn't love her.
Winnie was pulled into the elevator by Brian, then the elevator went up.
"If you don't like Stefan, just tell him and don't give him the wrong idea."
Brian let go of Winnie's hand, but suddenly he said such words.
"Does it matter to you? Whether I like Stefan or not is my business. Please keep your mouth shut, Sir. I
know how to deal with my business myself."
Winnie was angry, Brian’s words in her ears were ironic that she did not know how to refuse, that her
feelings were not clean enough.
But no matter how rubbish she was, it was her own business and had nothing to do with Brian.
"If you don't straighten it out, I'll straighten it out for you."
Brian seemed not have heard Winnie's words and gave self-warning.
He had been enduring Stefan, for fear that Winnie would be with him. But If Winnie continued like this,
he was afraid he had no chance.
Stefan was a good person and he did not care about Winnie's children. Knowing this condition, he still
loved Winnie, no doubt, this was true love.
Brian was afraid of losing to Stefan's true love.
"You...... Don't be so smug. Who are you to meddle in my affairs, and what does it matter to you who I
am with, or who I like?"
Winnie questioned Brian, she just asked, but she did do not want to hear his answer. She just wanted
to tell him that she had nothing to do with Brian, and that there was no need for him to meddle.
"Go back, and leave me alone. I just want to live in peace and never see you again."
Winnie did not want to hear the answer, naturally did not give Brian the opportunity to answer. While
she was talking, the door of the elevator was already open, but she pushed Brian and refused him to
get out.
"Go where you belong, you are not welcome here."
With a strong force, Winnie pushed Brian and then strode toward her door, but when she wanted to
close the door, Brian stopped her.
"What do you want? We've said everything we need to say. I've done everything you wanted. Why are
you still doing this? Is it funny?"
Winnie had no choice, did not know how to let Brian leave. She hated Brian now, hated him to ignore
her feelings and came to bother her.
"I want to talk to you, and then I'll go."
Brian knew he was unwelcomed, but he must do so, he must often let Winnie to see him. He was afraid
that she forgot him, and wanted to find a good opportunity to explain in this process.
"Again, that's all you can say."
"Ok, come in, come in now."
Winnie summed up that if she did not let Brian come in to finish his words, he would not give up.
Winnie said that and turned to the living room, followed by Brian.
"Go ahead, say it quickly and please leave as soon as possible."
Winnie stood in front of the window with her back to Brian. She did not want to face him and see his
gloomy face.
"Today Wendy came to our company to thank me for finding a school for her. I didn't expose her
because I wanted to give her a chance to confess on her own initiative. But I..."
Brian explained the things of Wendy. Winnie came to the company today, although he did not see her,
but that time she arrived was about the same as Wendy left.
They might meet, Brian did not want to hide it from Winnie.
However, Before Brian finished explaining, Winnie could not listen to it.
"You came here to tell me about Wendy, but it doesn't seem to matter to me where she goes and who
she meets. You should go to her and make her thank you for giving her opportunities over and over
again."
“You don't have to tell me what happened between you and her. You give her a chance...
Winnie stopped at this, she thought of the main reason for Brian to come.
Winnie laughed at herself.
"You came to me to ask me not to interfere with you and Wendy. If you want to be with her, if you can
bear the pain she brings, then why should I bother?"
"Go back and tell Wendy, and you can rest assured, I will not interfere with your affairs, you can be
together and get married."
Winnie said and turned away, this time she did not go back to her room, but walked out of the house
again.
"Winwin...Winwin......"
"I have not finished."
Brian followed her, but when he chased outside, Winnie had walked into the elevator, unfortunately, the
elevator door was immediately closed.
Winnie was to go crazy and she really wanted to slap Brian’s face.
How could he let go of Wendy? It seemed that their relationship after all these years could never be
broken? Otherwise how could he give Wendy a chance again and again?
Winnie, you should wake up, such a man was not worth it.
He gave Wendy a chance and wanted to be with Wendy, but he never gave her a chance. What did
she expect?
Winnie was not allowed to drive away after drinking alcohol at dinner. She could only walk, but she
found a place to hide for fear that Brian would come and annoy her.
In the dark looking at Brian looking for her in the community, Winnie hated him more. Why did he come
to her again?
It was too late, couldn’t him let her got some rest? She had to work tomorrow and earn money. She
wanted to live and didn't want anyone to disturb her.
Brian searched for a while but could not find her, so he simply went back to wait. Winnie saw him back
to her home, she came out from the dark.
She could not even go home this time.
She could not drive or go home. She was afraid to call a taxi and forgot to take out her cell phone and
purse at home. Should she stay up all night on such a lonely night?
Winnie left the community on foot and walked aimlessly on the street.
She took a deep breath to catch her breath, but tonight, for some reason, the air was scarce, and the
more she took a deep breath, the more suffocated she felt.
Walking, Winnie got tired. Her body was tired, her brain was tired and her heart was tired.
When she was tired, she sat on a chair at a bus stop and watched buses passing by her, thinking of
one misunderstanding after another between herself and Brian.
These misunderstandings could have been avoided, but none of them ducked. Maybe Brian didn't try
to avoid it at all.
