As Brian was squatting down to pick up instant noodles, he saw Winnie standing there.

"I was too loud for you, sorry."

Brian threw the instant noodles into a trash can and turned off the water boiling pot.

"Didn't you have dinner?"

Winnie did not care about what Brian said, but asked with concern.

"No, I'd been in meetings. I was in such a hurry to get back from the meeting that I didn't have time for

dinner."

Brian replied softly. He had been dealing with emergencies and had no time for dinner since he

separated with Winnie.

After the matter was settled, the staff asked him to eat out, but he was thinking of the kids and Winnie,

so he refused and went directly back to the hotel.

In fact, he had been hungry and enduring it, afraid to disturb Winnie and kids. But he was so hungry

when he continued his work.

He wanted to cook some instant noodles, but he clumsily made such a big sound and woke Winnie up.

"Go to bed. it is ok that I don’t eat."

In order to let Winnie sleep well, Brian decided not to eat instant noodles.

"Go ahead with your work and I'll get you something to eat."

Winnie opened the stove and then went to the refrigerator for some ingredients, but she did not plan to

cook instant noodles.

There were frozen dumplings in the refrigerator, Winnie got one flavor that Brian liked. When she

waited the water to boil, she went back to the refrigerator for some cooked food and vegetables.

And then she put the dumplings in the water and cut the cooked food. Not long after the dumplings and

cooked food were ready and she also made a cold dish.

While Winnie did all this, Brian stood by and watched. He felt sweet.

Winnie cooked for him in the end. It was simple, but she could not be replaced by others.

But it had been a long time that he had not seen this. Had it not been for his carelessness and his

impulse, he would have been treated like this every day.

"Eat, dumplings do not taste good when they become cold."

After that, Winnie wanted to go to sleep, but suddenly she was put in the arms of Brian.

"You..."

"Winwin, thank you, thank you for cooking for me."

Brian was excited and spoke in a low but trembling voice. At this moment, he felt his nose sour.

"I..."

Winnie was surprised and nervous by that. She tried to push Brian away and to speak, but she failed in

the end.

"I'm sorry, Winwin. I was really wrong. I'm really sorry. I can't live without you."

As he spoke, Brian tried hard to restrain his emotions, but his trembling voice and body betrayed him.

Winnie clearly felt the change of his mood, but also felt that his hands held her more tightly.

Winnie did not know what was wrong with her. He was not her man, but she enjoyed such a hug.

She felt that Brian's apology was sincere. He really realized that he was wrong and that he had brought

harm to others.

But as the corners of her mouth rose sarcastically, she became sober.

"Let go of me, or I will go back to school."

Winnie's cold words worked. Brian immediately let go of Winnie.

"I'm sorry."

Brian took a step back. Winnie found that he grew red in his eyes, suddenly she had a heartache and

wanted to hug him and comfort him.

But she still had reason, and she chose to leave.

She stepped away and heard the refrigerator open. Looking back, she found Brian took out a bottle of

beer.

She didn't think twice before going to stop him.

"Why still drink?"

Winnie snatched the beer from Brian’s hand. She was worried that he would have a headache and

forgot he was nosy.

"I'm too tired. I can sleep better if I drink some."

"Forget it, don't drink."

Brian was obedient and went to the table. Then he sat down and began to eat dumplings.

The dumplings were frozen. He had never eaten frozen dumplings before. But today he felt it delicious,

because Winnie made them.

Winnie stood there holding the beer. Looking at Brian gulfed the food, thinking he said he was tired,

she became softhearted.

She sat opposite Brian and opened the beer bottle. She took a glass from the table and put it in front of

Brian.

"Have some."

Winnie could not bear to see that Brian was tired and thought it was ok to have some of beer, and it

could relieve him.

"Okay, I'll have some."

Brian was unexpected that Winnie got him some beer.

He felt warn that she came back to stop him from drinking. And it proved that she still cared about him,

she then gave him the bear, which proved that she still loved him and could not bear to let him feel hard

to fall asleep.

At any rate, it was a surprise. She stayed to sleep with the kids and cooked dinner for him.

Brian was moved and surprised.

"You drink some, too."

Brian got a glass and placed it in front of Winnie, but he did not help her pour beer, afraid she would

leave immediately. He did not dare to say a word more, for fear of destroying the rare atmosphere at

this time.

She had been hiding from him these days, and this was the only time she had sat quietly and talked,

the only time she had looked him in the eye.

Winnie looked down at the glass Brian handed over, and shook the beer in her hand, unexpectedly she

poured herself some beer.

If she did not drink the rest of the bear, Brian would probably drink too much and have a headache. In

that case, she had to help and eventually they could not avoid physical contact.

So Winnie decided to drink the rest of the beer.

It was a lame excuse, but it was better than no excuse.

Looking at Winnie poured beer to herself, Brian was excited, but he did not dare to show it, did not dare

to let himself have a smile.

In the morning, he left in a hurry. He thought Winnie must be disappointed and would complain to him.

Therefore, he had been absent-minded in work.

He was nervous when he came back just now, for fear that Winnie would be angry.

"Winwin, it's been a long time since we sat down to drink together. Cheers."

Brian said quietly, as if he was asking Winnie for opinion. If her attitude changed, he would stop right

away.

"Cheers."

Winnie finally opened her mouth, proposed a toast and then drank it up.

Winnie had no pressure to get along with Brian at this moment. As long as Brian did not mention the

past, she could be relaxed.

It was just that this pattern of getting along gave her a sense of alienation. It was as if she had forgotten

Brian and simply treated him as a friend.

"The dumplings are delicious. Would you like to try one?"

Brian picked up a dumpling and sent it to Winnie, but it was too much for Winnie.

"No, I'll get fat if I eat so late."

Winnie casually found a reason to refuse, in her opinion, only families or lovers would pick up food to

her.

Such behavior was too intimate for a person irrelevant.

"Oh, I will eat then, I'm not afraid of being fat."

Although Brian knew that this was just a reason for Winnie to reject him, he still wanted to say that.

"You are already thin, don’t lose weight. But you can take exercise, it's good for your health."

Winnie lost a lot of weight recently, which was envied by girls, but Brian was sorry to see that.

Winnie gave a faint smile and did not respond.

Did Brian care about her before? Now Winnie only thought he was just being polite and did not expect

any concern and care.

Even if it was a trivial word, its meaning depended on the time to say it. He didn't say it when she

needed it, and when she did not need it, she would not take it seriously.

Brian drank another mouthful of beer. Seeing that Winnie was silent, he continued.

"I have not drunk for a long time, for I am afraid I will get headache and no one will take care of me."

"Before I met you, I never cared if I had a headache. In the face of some party, I thought it was just a

headache, it will not kill me anyway."

"But after I met you, you relieved my headache very quickly. I realized that there is a kind of pain I do

not have to endure and it can be quickly cured. But I'm afraid of having a headache because I can't

bear the pain of losing you one day."

Brian expressed his true feelings in his heart.

He used to be afraid of nothing, and it was this fearlessness that made the Bennet Group strong, that

allowed him to fight off his enemies.

But since Winnie appeared in his life, he was afraid of losing things, especially Winnie.

"It doesn't matter who you lose, the people who deserve to be alive are still alive. And you did not lose

me, you just abandoned me."

"Brian, do you know what I want most right now?"

To Brian’s surprise, Winnie asked a question.
