Hearing that, Brian was moved for the first time. It gave Brian the sense of security. This was his father,
giving him invisible strength.
Brian was stunned for a moment, and then gave an answer.
“I’ll figure it out.”
Brian’s answer was reserved, in fact, he would like to say that he would put Winnie into first
consideration. He also wanted to say that he would talk to him when he was in trouble.
But he did not say that and could only use a few words.
“I agree. Grandpa should have known long ago. It’s not fair for Megan to keep her identity hidden.”
“You should be more careful with Uncle Thomas.”
About Uncle Thomas, Stella had to remind Brian, but she just said such a sentence, so Uncle Thomas
remained a mystery to Joshua and Winnie.
They were smart and composed, so they didn’t ask too much about it.
“I know, Sister.”
After hearing what his father and sister had said, Brian had a decision in mind. Only a few of simple
words made him feel at ease.
It was confirmed, and he hoped they could have a mental preparation by telling them, so as not to be
shocked by his move.
After saying that, they chatted for a while and then went back to their rooms. And soon it was Supper
time.
But what they didn’t expect there was an unexpected visitor.
Thomas and his family came before dinner.
“Happy New Year, Uncle Thomas, Aunt Maria!”
Joshua and Stella greeted them warmly with a smiling face.
“Sisther, brother-in-law, happy New Year!
Jack was also very polite, but after that, he saw Winnie and walked towards her.
“I heard that you had come back, so I came to see you. Am I welcomed?”
Thomas said jokingly, but his smile was not sincere.
“Yes, welcome.”
“We should go to see you, but you came instead, we are sorry.”
Joshua said politely, after all, he had been business for so many years.
“It doesn’t matter, we don’t pay much attention to those etiquette. Grandpa is not at home, so we came
to join in the fun.”
As Thomas spoke, he saw Winnie.
Winnie was here instead of Wendy? It did not seem right.
“Uncle Thomas, Aunt Maria, have a seat. We’ll get ready for dinner.”
Joshua invited Thomas and his wife to the living room, but Thomas’s thoughts had been on Winnie.
“Is this Winnie?”
He asked. It was the first time he had met Winnie, and he couldn’t help looking up and down at this
enigmatic figure.
She looked good and shrewd, her intelligence quotient was far more than Wendy’s.
However, it was not Brian or Winnie who answered Thomas, but Jack.
“Dad, you have good eyesight. She is Winnie.”
Jack was proud, but was glanced mercilessly by Thomas.
At this time Winnie came over.
“Hello, I am Winnie.”
Winnie simply introduced herself because she didn’t know what to call the so-called Uncle Thomas.
“Oh, I’ve heard about you, but I haven’t met you before.”
At the moment, Thomas wanted to know why Winnie was there, but the next moment Winnie gave the
answer.
“I come over to take Megan home, so I gotta go.”
Winnie said and looked back at Brian.
“I’m going upstairs to pick up the kids.”
Winnie went upstairs directly, and Brian followed closely.
The two children were playing in Brian’s room. They stopped playing when they saw their parents come
in together and looked serious.
“Winwin, there is no need to leave. They will go home after dinner.”
Brian would not allow Winnie to leave because this was their last chance to be together.
“I’d better go back, they come too suddenly, and the children are not prepared. If they spill the beans,
you will be passive.”
“And it’s not a good time for me to be here. I don’t know your uncle well, and I don’t like to deal with
Jack. I’ll go back with Megan.”
Winnie said and went to the cloakroom to get her coat and bag.
Brian stood there and did not move. He felt that Winnie’s concern was justified. Both children were very
excited, and in case they said something wrong, he would have been planning it for nothing.
“Daddy, are Mommy and Sister going home?”
Luke came and asked Brian, and his mood suddenly fell to the bottom of the valley.
“Yes, Grandpa Thomas came, Mommy and sister can’t be here.”
Brian said sadly, he felt sorry for Winnie and Megan.
“Daddy, I am going home with Mommy too. I’m going to stay with Sister and Mommy.”
Since Sister and Mommy went home, Luke felt there was no need to stay. And his sister must be very
sad to leave at this time, he must go back to comfort her.
“All right, go home and help me take care of Mommy and Sister.”
Brian agreed to the requirements of Luke, and then called Megan to his side.
“Megan.”
Megan was in a low mood. She lowered her head, pouted and walked to Daddy.
“Daddy, you don’t need to say anything, I will go back with Mommy.”
Megan knew that this situation would happen again and again, so she already knew what she should
do.
However, the more sensible the child was, the more anxious Brian became.
“Megan, hold on two days, it will be you home and no one can let you leave again.”
Brian assured Megan, hoping his words could ease her depression.
“Megan, Luke, go downstairs and say goodbye to everybody, don’t say wrong words.”
Brian said to them, and then Winnie came out from the cloakroom.
“Luke goes back with me?”
Winnie vaguely heard their conversation and asked with uncertainty.
“Yes, I’m going home with Mommy, too.”
Luke said, because in his eyes a place with Mommy was home.
“All right, then, I’ll take you home.”
Winnie said and looked at Brian.
“The children’s coats are in their room. You go and get them.”
“Ok, you get my coat, too, and I’ll see you off.”
Brian went to get the children’s coats. Winnie went back to the cloakroom to get Brian’s coat.
The four of them went downstairs together, and the two children said goodbye to everyone politely. In
order to avoid saying the wrong thing, Megan did not call anyone, but kept saying goodbye.
At this moment, Jack came over.
“Brother, I send them back.”
Jack volunteered with a sly smile on his face.
“Forgot what I told you?”
Brian sounded right, but there was warming in his eyes.
“It isn’t polite that they leave by themselves, I...”
“I’ll see them off , you wait for dinner.”
Brian said, directly took Luke’s hand to leave.
Arriving in the courtyard, Brian went straight to her car and opened the door.
“Take my car home.”
Winnie opened her car and let her two children in.
“I’ll drive you back.”
Brian walked to Winnie’s car and pulled open the door on the driver’s side. Just then Winnie stopped
him.
“I can drive myself back. There are visitors, and it’s not polite for you to leave, and your uncle will think
about it. And your sister and brother-in-law have just come home, you should spend more time with
them.”
Winnie was thoughtful, and did not make Brian have a hard time because of her.
Brian stood there and could not look at Winnie, and did not want to carry out the task Winnie gave him.
“Go back. Don’t let anyone think about it. I’ll just go back with the kids.”
Winnie repeatedly insisted and Brian got off the car. He now felt the sadness of parting, thinking it was
likely to be the end of happiness.
Looking at Winnie drove away, Brian’s heart was painful and helpless. The last reunion dinner was
disturbed by Uncle Thomas, and he did not complete the happy holiday as he had hoped.
After returning to the house, Brian’s face, which had been serious, suddenly returned to its previous
indifference. He did not say a word and did not hear what other said, he just sat there coldly,
imperceptibly giving a sense of oppression.
Except for Uncle Thomas and his family, they all knew the reason for Brian’s change. But they all
understood him and did not drag him into the topic.
Brian lower head, held the mobile phone in hand, tapping the screen.
“Remember to eat dinner.”
The message was sent to Winnie. He knew she was driving, so he didn’t expect her reply. But he kept
looking down at the screen.
Unexpectedly, Brian received a reply after only a short time.
“Daddy, I am Luke. Mommy is driving and she asked me to text you back. Mommy said she would cook
for us when we get home.”
Brian looked at the message, and the coldness on his face finally subsided.
“Well, you must eat well, and ask Mommy to eat more. And you must be good and not make Mommy
angry.”
Brian replied to Luke’s message.
Suddenly he felt the reluctance and fear of children leaving him.
“I know, Daddy, my sister and I will be good. Mommy asked you to eat more.”
These was indeed Winnie’s words, and what was she could only say at the moment.
Today was the last night, Winnie had a lot of things to say to Brian, but this chance was gone, so those
words could not be said. This was probably a pity.
“Well, tell Mommy that I will be good and eat well.”
Seeing his message, Luke could not help but laugh, which attracted the attention of Megan. She
hurried over to see what Daddy had said.
“Mommy, Daddy said he he’ll be good and eat well. Daddy’s a good boy, too.”
With that, Megan couldn’t help laughing.
