Brian went straight to the old house after leaving his work to Albert and went straight to his
grandfather's study.
"Grandpa, I want to show you something."
Brian said and showed Grandpa the front page headline about Gloria.
Felix could see that Brian had come over for something, but he didn't expect it to be about Gloria.
After looking at it twice, Felix put down his phone.
He felt disappointed in someone as filthy as Gloria, but didn't show it.
"You're not separated, and this has something to do with you?"
Felix asked indifferently.
"Nothing to do with me, and hopefully nothing to do with Grandpa."
Brian's words were a bit meaningful, causing Felix to look up at Brian with unsure eyes.
"What do you mean, you suspect me of exposing this? Then you should be happy, why do you look like
you're raising an eyebrow?"
"I'm not doubting that, I'm trying to tell you not to have any illusions about her in the future. If I marry
her, we'll be the laughing stock of the world."
That was the real point of Brian coming over.
There were some things he didn't say explicitly, but it didn't mean he didn't know, the people around
grandpa except for Butler Lowe were almost all bribed by him. So he knew about Grandpa seeing
Gloria.
Grandpa had always had illusions about Gloria and did not want to give up on this. Just when this
opportunity came, he had to let grandpa know that Gloria's condition.
"Of course, you can’t marry her."
"Don't worry, I left the matter of Gloria and you alone a long time ago."
Felix gave up now seeing the news.
"Thank you, grandpa, I hope you don’t give the media a chance to link our family to Gloria, otherwise it
will affect the Bennet Group stock."
Brian's words were a hint to Grandpa that he should never meet with Gloria again and not use Gloria to
hurt Winnie, otherwise it would be used by the media and would cause some harm to Winnie.
"I understand this, I don't need you to prompt."
"I see that you are not really caring about the stock but defending Director Chambers."
Felix said. He had dealt with people all his life, so it was not difficult for him to see that.
"Whatever Grandpa thinks."
Brian didn't admit but didn't deny it either, it was good that Grandpa knew he cared about Winnie.
"Brian, you are determined to be with Winnie, aren't you?"
"Yeah."
Brian's attitude was firm and his tone was certain. Regarding Winnie's issue, he had to be tough in front
of his grandfather so that he wouldn't give him an opportunity to take advantage of it.
"How much do you know about her, from start to finish, from her family to her character?"
Felix wanted to know if Brian knew about Winnie and Isobel's relationship, if not, he would hint that
Brian would go and investigate it thoroughly.
Things could not stay hidden like this, everything had to be faced one day.
With Brian being so obsessed with Winnie, Felix thought that an earlier reveal would be good for both
Brian. But now he had to consider the existence of Rufus and the two children.
"There's nothing complicated about her family, her parents died in a car accident and now she only has
her aunt and sister."
"As for character, I believe Winwin, you had much contact with her for so long, and you know that."
Brian said with certainty, although he didn't know what Winnie's previous home was like, it didn't affect
them now.
"All you see is the surface, it's impossible to see the most substantial things."
Felix was anxious, but he couldn't say it directly, he could only keep refuting Brian's words.
"Any one can't see the most substantial thing, and she just as well can't know all of me. I don't know
what she was like before, and I don't want to know. I only trust her as she is now."
No matter what kind of reasoning Felix had to oppose, Brian would say the appropriate response, for
him, what Winnie had now was enough for him to love deeply.
"What if she has bad intentions, what if she has been carrying an agenda from the very beginning,
what if she is biding her time to set you up? How are you going to trust in all of this, have you not
considered any of this?"
The scope of what Felix said was getting wider and wider, and it was as wide a range of Winnie's mind
as he could think of. He brought it up, hoping that Brian would explore it.
Once these words from Felix came out, Brian didn't immediately reply, but he frowned.
A moment later.
"Grandpa I did suspect these possibilities you speak of when we first met. But now that I no longer
doubt it, I believe she has no stray thoughts about me at all, much less the possibilities you
mentioned."
Brian said with certainty, now more than ever he believed in Winnie that she had no purpose, and that
the only thing she had was love.
"If you really want to be with her, do your research."
Felix was left with nothing to say, Brian was in too deep now to listen to anything he said. He just
couldn't imagine if he would be able to accept the reality one day after he knew the truth of the matter,
if he would be able to speak with such certainty now.
Brian didn't take his grandfather's words seriously, whether he was hinting or reminding, Winnie's past
had passed.
All he knew was that he was Winnie's first and only man, and that alone was enough for him to respect
for the rest of his life. Maybe Grandpa was suspecting that her parents had some kind of dark history,
but they were gone, and even if they had an unpleasant past, it went into the ground with them and had
nothing to do with Winnie at all.
What he cared about was Winnie's present, what he cared about was her future. As for the past it was
merely the past.
All in all, after the news happened to Gloria, his grandpa still could not accept Winnie, but
fundamentally gave up on Gloria.
In the evening after work, he went straight to Winnie's with the kids.
After the two kids ate dinner and went back to their rooms to do their homework, Gloria became the
topic of conversation between Brian and Winnie.
"You saw what happened to Gloria?"
Brian inquired.
"Yes, if you don't clean yourself up, you'll have to take the blame for having something like this
happen."
Winnie did not comment too much, only said this sentence she all feel like gossip. Because it had
nothing to do with her, it was something that Gloria should fret about herself.
"There were comments that she is carrying my child, do you believe them?"
Brian was trying to explain the matter, but he could only explain it if he got the most crucial thing out of
the way.
The reason why he brought up this topic was because he was afraid that Winnie would see the
comments and have a misunderstanding about him.
"I haven't seen this one yet, because I didn't continue to pay attention to it. But I don't think she is
carrying your child."
Winnie gave her answer calmly, as if she was talking about something irrelevant.
"Why do you say that, you trust me?"
Brian was unsure if the answer Winnie gave was sarcastic or if she was angry but deliberately hiding it.
"So you want to tell me she is carrying your child?"
Winnie asked Brian rhetorically.
"No, of course not. How could I possibly explain to you if it is my child. I just don't know why you believe
in me so much, if it stems from love for me as well."
He was flustered by Winnie's question, he hurriedly made an explanation. In fact, he just wanted to
hear Winnie's unconditional trust in him, just like he said, it was a sign of love.
"It's not good to be so self-absorbed, I do know Gloria. If this baby was yours, do you think she would
have done away with it and sneaked off to a foreign country?"
"If this child was yours, she would have forced you to marry by now."
Winnie rolled her eyes, the answer was simply.
"You have a point, but that's a reason I don't like."
Brian was trusted, but he was disappointed.
"Don't like it? Then give her a chance to get pregnant once, then you can come back and ask me again
and I'll give it to you again ......"
"Stop it, stop it, I can't talk you out of this eloquent mouth of yours. I'll only give you a chance, I wouldn't
give any other woman a chance even if she had saved the galaxy in her last life."
Brian hurriedly interrupted Winnie, as the more she spoke, the more she didn't care about him.
He was a much sought-after man Winnie knew better than him, but she just didn't know how to cherish
him and pushed him outwards. This woman did not respect for his charm, one day, she would be willing
to marry him.
"And you know the stunt about saving the galaxy, I thought you only knew about work."
Winnie smiled lightly.
"I'm not an alien, I can't be ignorant of that stunt."
"Seriously, there's something else I need to talk to you about."
"It is related to Gloria."
Brian felt that this matter also needed to talk to Winnie, although there was no substantial progress, but
grandfather abandoning Gloria was a good thing one.
"Don't talk to me about your grandfather, I don't know what he was to others, but I know what he was to
me."
Winnie resisted topics related to Felix because he hated her and the words that came out would sting
her ears.
"I'll say it even if you don't want to hear it, because it's good news for me."
"As soon as the news about Gloria came out, I went to grandpa. I told him not to even have any
illusions about Gloria in the future, and we can’t see her again."
"When something so shady is laid out there, Grandpa has to give her up."
"I'm telling you this because Gloria is no longer an obstacle between us, which means we've taken
another step forward."
What Brian wanted to tell Winnie was actually the last sentence, which was a good thing, and he
wanted Winnie to know that.
"It should be considered a good news."
Looking at Brian's excited look, Winnie didn't bear to tell him except for Gloria, there were many other
obstacles..
