After talking to Brian, Winnie got into the car and left. When she turned around, Wendy saw the
necklace was till on Winnie's neck.
Wendy got angry. It seemed that her warning did not work and she did not voluntarily return the
necklace.
Brian did not expect Winnie to be here. If he had known that, he would not brought Wendy here, so that
they could have a happy reunion dinner.
He had regrets and blamed himself for missing a chance to get along with Winnie.
Winnie felt bad too. She did not take the initiative to come, but she had to leave since Wendy was here.
He brought his fiancée back. How embarrassing it would be if she didn't leave?
Winnie always thought Brian was cold, but he was emotional. But now it seemed that he was rational.
This morning he brought back his luggage and in the evening, he took his fiancée back.
Winnie had been feeling that she was a strong woman who would not be bound by relationship, but she
accidentally loved Brian and lost herself, and then she screwed up everything. It seemed that she was
not rational, so she could not blame Brian.
Brian took Wendy into the house. Seeing Wendy, everyone’s facial expressions became stiff, especially
the two children.
“Daddy...”
The two children rushed to hug Brian, ignoring Wendy.
“Good kids.”
With a smile on his face, Brian stroked the children's heads.
He gave a look to the children and then they greeted Wendy.
“Hello, Wendy.”
“Hello, Wendy.”
The two children said hello reluctantly.
“Hello, I haven't seen you for ages. I didn't know you were there. If I knew, I would have brought you a
present.”
Wendy squatted down and wanted to be close to the two children. No matter how resisted she was in
the heart, she had to pretend to be nice on the surface.
“Thank you, Wendy, but we have a lot of presents, you don’t need to buy one.”
Megan refused Wendy's gift, but she put the words euphemistic. Wendy had not excuse to be angry.
“Ok, let me know when you want one.”
Wendy was alleviating her embarrassment. At this time Rufus walked over expressionlessly.
“Here comes Wendy. Wash your hands and eat.”
Rufus turned and went to the kitchen.
Not that he did not respect Wendy, it was what Wendy had done made him annoyed.
At the dinner table, Rufus was not happy, although it was Brian's first meal back home, because Winnie
was not sitting next to Brian.
It was silent and no one spoke. Wendy felt embarrassed and found a topic.
“Sir, Brian has moved back, may I move in too? I can take care of you.”
Wendy looked at Rufus with expectation, but there was a voice of opposition.
“You can't.”
Hearing that, Megan objected out loud. She felt that Wendy would live here if she objected too late.
But when she saw all the people were looking at her, she realized that she was being rude. But she
persisted in her opposition.
“Wendy, think about it. Your parents are old and they need your care. Grandpa has Daddy, my aunt, my
brother and me. With so many people taking care of Grandpa, You can rest assured.”
“Megan is reasonable. If your parents have no one to take care of them, they will be very pitiful.”
Luke joined the opposition, which made Wendy awkward. She forced a smile on her face.
“Megan, Luke, you are right.”
Wendy did not continue, or it would make her more awkward. She would mention it again when the two
children were absent.
Megan smile happily. She did not expect that Wendy gave up soon.
But she still hated Wendy, especially now. If Wendy was not here, Mommy would stay with them.
“Brother, did you call Mommy? I wonder if Mommy has had dinner at this hour.”
Megan said deliberately.
“Yes, Mommy hasn't arrived at destination yet. She must be hungry.”
Luke said to Megan. He did not like Wendy either, even if he spoke less.
“Poor Mommy, poor us. It's been a long time we did not get together, well...”
Megan groaned, showing her sadness.
Wendy was not a fool and sure she could understand that, but she could not retort, so she kept silent,
or she might be awkward.
The atmosphere at the table was the same all the time. Rufus did not speak.
Winnie had entered the city. She had told her aunt that she would have a meal in the suburbs, but now
she came back, so she did not know how to explain to her aunt.
At that thought, Winnie did not go home but went directly to Daenerys’ home.
As she entered the door, she found Oscar was there too.
“I thought I am the only one who always comes here for a free meal. I didn't expect you are here, too.”
Winnie said jokingly.
She put her bag down and went straight to the bathroom to wash her hands.
The three men at the table looked at each other quizzically.
“Didn’t you say she was going to have dinner at the surburns? Why is she here?”
Kevin asked Daenerys.
“Yes, that's what she told me. How do I know she got back? Do you know that?”
Daenerys turned to Oscar.
“How should I know? I didn't contact her before. I don't like to cook dinner when I go home, so I came
here, but I don't know she's coming.”
They were curious, then Winnie came out from the bathroom.
“Don't guess, Wendy went to the suburbs. How can I have dinner with them? Why? Do I need ta
reason to have dinner here?”
Winnie did not conceal it, because she did not want them to worry about her.
“Brian brought Wendy back on the first day he moved home?”
Daenerys asked in surprise.
“Yes.”
Winnie answered and went to the kitchen to take the tableware. She carried a bowl of rice back, and
then sat down to eat.
When she was hungry, she should fill her stomach and not let herself be affected by other boring
things.
“Wendy lives there too?”
Kevin asked a more realistic question, which caused Winnie to stop chewing.
“I'm not sure about that. Probably.”
“Would you like some wine?”
Oscar did not ask anything about Brian because he was afraid Winnie would be upset.
“No, I have an important job tomorrow. If I drink too much, I will not do a good job.”
Winnie refused. She did not drink every time when she was in a bad mood, because drinking too much
wine could not solve the problem.
No one spoke, but looked at each other for a few minutes and then began to eat.
After a while Oscar broke the silence
“I've been back for a long time. You said you wanted me to see the kids, but you haven't let me see
them yet.”
“I was too busy and I have forgotten that. Luke mentioned you in the past few days.”
By Oscar’s reminder, Winnie suddenly remembered it.
She was busy at work and experienced too many upset things, so she had forgotten it.
“Since you are busy, let Luke be with me, I can teach him well. When you are available, take me to see
him. As long as I have time, I can teach Luke, and I can eat the food your aunt cooked.”
Oscar wants to help Winnie by giving her as much time as possible to rest.
“I think you just want a free meal, teaching is not the main reason.”
Daenerys said jokingly.
“Don’t expose me. Are we friends or not.”
Oscar responded to Daenerys, perhaps saying so would make Winnie have no burden.
“Well, I won't expose you. If you have the confidence to make a genius out of every child, I can cook for
you every day after my baby is born.”
Daenerys took the opportunity to make a fuss.
“If I fail, shall I spit out the food I had?”
Two people said jokingly.
“We are having dinner here, can you talk about something that's not disgusting. I really will throw up.”
Winnie stopped their indecent jokes.
“I'll take you home when I'm finished work.”
Winnie ended the topic and began to eat in earnest. Only when she was focus on one thing, she would
not think about Brian.
After dinner, everyone except Daenerys began to clean up the kitchen. Then they sat together in the
living room and chatted.
“The baby is coming, and this is the most suffering time.”
Winnie said, caressing Daenerys’ belly.
“Yes. I feel sick in every part of my body.”
Daenerys looked uncomfortable.
“Hold on, you will be ok after the baby is born.”
Even though Winnie had two children, she was envious of Daenerys and the fact that she had a
husband to go through the pregnancy with her.
“Winwin, don't talk about Daenerys. With Doctor Burns in charge, we don't have to worry. Can you tell
me something about you?”
Oscar turned the conversation to Winnie.
“What do you want to know about me?”
Winnie asked knowingly. She felt she had nothing to say about Brian.
“Your relationship, Brian.”
With that, Oscar looked at Daenerys, hoping that she could persuade Winnie.
“I have nothing to talk about. He has a woman, and you all know that. Why should I associate him?”
Winnie took her hand on the belly of Daenerys back, and her spirit got down.
“Winwin, give it a consideration. After all, Mr. Bennet said he loves you, and since you love each other
and you have kids, why not give it a try?”
Daenerys said.
“He loves me? Did he tell you?”
Winnie asked.
“He told you, and we heard that.”
Oscar was explaining.
“He told me? I don't know that.”
“He told me? | don't know that.”
