Brian made the matter between himself and Gloria clear, and he dared to assure Winnie that there was
absolutely no connection at all with Gloria.
He knew that Winnie was prone to overthinking, which was why he was more careful about his
interactions with women.
There was a certain risk for him to withdraw his cooperation with Gloria, but he cared mot about
Winnie.
"There's one more thing I need to explain to you. The day I got exposed by the reporters at the hotel
during my collaboration with Gloria, nothing happened to us. She only stayed in my room to avoid the
reporters. You can ask Albert about that, he was in the room the whole time too."
Brian took the opportunity to explain what happened that day, which was the day Winnie was drunk and
was set up by Wendy.
"There's no need to explain anything else, we're talking about Penny now."
Winnie didn't accept Brian's explanation, but she was fine about what happened that day long ago.
It was true that she was in a bad mood at the time, but she hadn't suspected Brian.
They were in the hotel, but she was the guilty one.
"Wendy was present and didn't say anything, but the nanny said she was inclined towards Penny.
Between Wendy and Penny ......"
"Winwin, I don't care about that. But Penny made you worry, so I'll help you out. I'll talk to Gloria and
Wendy once more, and I'll make my attitude clearer."
Brian didn't want to hear the name Penny, didn't want to know the reason she had fainted. He only
cared about Winnie's feelings, and only cared if Winnie was happy.
"Don't mind me, I just want Gloria and Wendy to leave Penny alone. She doesn't have much time left,
so don't let her be scolded by them in her limited time."
Winnie refused Brian's good intentions, and although Brian was doing it for her own good, she was still
uncomfortable in her heart, because she hadn't finished speaking about Wendy, but Brian interrupted
her.
Was his interruption patronizing or did he not want to admit that Wendy was at fault?
Winnie wasn't sidelining Wendy, she just wanted Brian to be careful.
Perhaps she was overthinking it, whatever Wendy did, it didn't constitute a threat to Brian. Because
Wendy in his heart was kind and gentle, so she wouldn't do anything excessive.
Instead of going home after coming out of the hospital, Gloria asked Thomas out.
In the private room of the teahouse, Gloria told Thomas about Penny's rescue today.
"You took her to the hospital?"
Thomas asked, still somewhat incredulous.
"Of course, she was still in resuscitation when I left, I don't know if she is dead or alive now."
Gloria said proudly, worried about whether Penny was dead or alive, but she thought it was still worth
showing off.
"What if she dies? Will there be legal liability?"
Thomas was happy to hear that, but he wasn't sure if it had broken the law.
"Uncle Thomas, I didn't kill her outright, there is no legal liability of course, if there is, I just need to
compensate her with money."
Gloria was unsure of it, but she was like indifferent.
"You're right."
Thomas encouraged, but in his heart he laughed at Gloria's foolishness.
If Penny really died, who would she compensate to? Without a letter of understanding, she would end
up in jail.
There was just one thing he was disappointed about. Penny had promised to get rid of Brian, and if she
died, this hope would be dashed.
"Uncle Thomas, who do you think I saw at Penny's?"
Since she had met Thomas, she would like to talk about Wendy.
"Who?"
Thomas knew there was something else when he saw Gloria's mysterious look.
"Wendy."
"Wendy?"
Hearing Wendy's name, not only did Thomas's brow furrowed, his head ran rapidly.
What could Wendy and Penny study together? It was nothing but Brian and Winnie.
"What did they say?"
Thomas asked seriously.
"They said ...... they talked about Brian. Penny knew she doesn't have a chance and doesn't want to
give up Brian to Winnie and me, so she helped Wendy."
These were Gloria's guesses, not what she had heard. But she didn't think her guesses would be
wrong, or there was no way these two would be together.
"Penny was selfish."
Thomas analyzed it seriously and felt that Penny's agreement with him was using him and deceiving
him, or that she didn't trust him completely but made multiple preparations.
He couldn't trust such Penny either, he couldn't put all his hopes on her. She was the same as Brian,
what she said on her lips and thought in her mind was not the same thing, and such a person could not
be used.
At this moment, Thomas hoped that Penny would not come out of the resuscitation room.
No matter what, it was Penny who had spoiled his deed, she was like an obstacle on his way and he
would be smoother had her been got rid of.
"Uncle Thomas, I think Wendy should be warned too, or we won’t be able to finish the plan."
Gloria needed Thomas's help, she was already too busy to deal with Penny and Winnie by herself, if
Wendy got involved, she wouldn't be able to handle it.
"You don't even need to worry about Wendy or Winnie, if Penny really dies this time, your mission is
complete. Just leave all the rest to me."
Thomas had already reminded Winnie of this more than once, and he was afraid that Gloria had
spoiled his plan.
"I know, I can do what."
Gloria was perfunctory, and she had to something about Winnie, because she was not sure if Thomas
had his secret plain.
"I repeat, Winnie must not be moved."
Thomas was uneasy and had to be reminded Gloria repeatedly.
"Don't worry. Uncle Thomas, I will not do anything to her."
Yet it was this repeated reminder that made Gloria's heart wander. She felt that there was some sort of
agreement between Winnie and Thomas. Maybe it was her who got kicked off in the end, or maybe she
was just a pawn for Thomas. So even though Thomas had told her again and again, she had to have
her own ideas.
On Sunday, Winnie was asked out by Finn, while Brian came to the hospital to visit Leo.
"How's it going?"
Brian asked in a low voice, although he was worried about Leo's injuries, looking at Leo's healthy face,
he felt that his worries were superfluous.
Brian was aware of the reason, and it could only about love.
"I am good, and it doesn't hurt today. I just need to recuperate now and I'll be discharged in a few
days."
Although Leo was injured, he was in a pleasant mood.
"Get well quickly and then have the wedding, lest Emily goes back to her words."
Looking at Leo's optimistic attitude, Brian joked unconsciously.
"No, Emily won't go back to her words. As for the wedding, Emily and Daenerys insist on waiting for
Winwin, you heard this one too. I'll cooperate with them and just wait."
"But after I get out of the hospital, we'll go straight to the register and get a license so we're married."
Leo was not in a hurry, not afraid of Emily regretting or waiting for Winnie.
He just really didn't know how long this wait was going to be.
"Well, a registered marriage is a legal couple. Is the wedding house all set up, do you want me to
help?"
Brian was aware of the wedding, but this was something he could only try and didn't have the right to
decide.
"No, there's nothing to prepare. Emily will just go shopping with my mom and her mom today and buy
some essential supplies."
"The rest will wait until the wedding is held."
Once again, Leo mentioned the wedding, and this time Brian had to show his attitude.
"Winwin has not forgiven me even now. I really don't know when the wedding will take place. But I'll try
my best and make sure I don't make you guys wait too long."
Brian believed that he could do it because he loved Winnie deeply.
"Brian, don't worry. You know Winwin's character, her heart has been wounded and she is especially
wary. You can only warm her little by little, and let her wounded heart heal."
Leo was not optimistic about Winnie's life after she married Brian, but it depended on how deep Brian's
love was and which kind of sacrifice he could make for Winnie.
If he did a good job, there would be no problem.
So both people had things that needed to be worked out. There would be no worries after all this.
"I know, and I know that love is not enough between us, there are so many things we must face. It will
take time, and I need Winwin’s understanding and cooperation."
"But she doesn’t give me a chance, she doesn’t even let me say a word in its entirety."
Brian was bitter. He was confident, but he did not know how long that confidence was going to last.
"Take your time, if you love her and she loves you, it will work out between you."
All Leo could do was to advice, because Brian's complexity was really difficult for others to understand.
"Leo, did you ever think of backing off when Emily rejected you before?"
Brian asked, he wanted to know what kind of mood Leo had back then.
Leo didn't answer but asked Brian.
"What about you? Will you give up?"
"I wanted to, but every time I tried to give up, it was more painful. The thought of giving up Winnie
makes me feel like my life is coming to an end, I can't live without her."
Brian smiled bitterly, not afraid that Leo would laugh at him, he did feel this way.
The time when he misunderstood Winnie, he was so tormented like a walking dead without a bit of
soul.
"That's right, I had the same feeling before, or I would have given up a long time ago."
Leo laughed at Brian's infatuation.
Hearing that, Leo was sure that Brian truly loved Winnie. With love, one could overcome everything,
and with love, one had the courage to face everything.
Leo didn't dare to guarantee what their future path would be, but Brian would guard his love and
Winnie.
