"How much time do we still have before this world is destroyed?" Isis asked in a melancholic tone.
"I'm not sure, but it's not yet time to give up," Rocky said with confidence as he looked into the
distance.
"What are you saying? Is there still a way to turn this around?" Isis quickly wiped her tears off and
asked expectantly.
"There should be. That's actually the reason why I came here. I wanted to see you and Nigel first
before I go to the alien land. I need to rescue Marcia and the others before it's too late." Rocky told her
his bold plan.
"Are you going there alone? Isn't it going to be very difficult even for you?" Isis asked, concerned about
his safety.
"Well, yes. But I have no other choice but to do this. I'm the only one who could do this now," Rocky
explained.
"Then, what about me and Nigel? You're just going to leave us like this?" Isis's voice started to break
and her body slightly shuddered.
"I should have disappeared from this world a long time ago, but I was still given a chance to come
back. Now, it's my last chance to make everything right again. I know you're having such a hard time
dealing with this, but I have every confidence that you can take good care of Nigel even without me.
And I deeply admire you for that," Rocky remarked with utmost sincerity.
"So what? Without you by my side, no matter what kind of nice life I'm living, everything would just be
meaningless!" Isis shouted as she burst into tears.
"I'm sorry. Isis, I don't have that much time. If I don't leave right away, I won't be able to enter the alien
land. Please understand that I need to do this for everyone. I will definitely make the Wild Spirit Land
escape its inevitable doom." Rocky held her face and promised her as he looked straight into her eyes.
"You're a heartless man. But what else could I do? You'll still do whatever you like. Go ahead. We'll all
be waiting for your return!" Isis was well aware that Rocky didn't only belong to her. Moreover, what he
was trying to accomplish was to give a future to the Wild Spirit Land. It was of utmost importance; thus,
she could only support him and let him do what he could.
Rocky just nodded and let out a faint smile. Immediately after, he returned into the golden light and
disappeared into the sky.
The main reason why he was such in hurry was that he was worried that the Holy Lord would interfere
with his plans once he sensed his thoughts. Therefore, without wasting any time, he flew towards the
mysterious area before the Holy Lord could find an opportunity to stop him.
Before long, he sneaked into the mysterious area and landed in front of the gate.
As soon as he appeared, several shadows suddenly rushed out and blocked his way. They seemed to
be a bit weaker than the ones who battled against the allied army, but he still couldn't underestimate
them. In fact, one of them was more powerful than an advanced spiritual master. "Hey, look! This guy
came by himself. I think he has a death wish!" one of them taunted.
"Get out of the way. I'm in a hurry!" Rocky shouted as his fiery gaze swept across them.
"What? Who do you think you are? All of the strongest creatures on your land have already been
captured. What can you do by yourself? The Wild Spirit Land is going to be ours soon, so you're the
one who needs to get out of the way before you get killed," another alien remarked with a wicked grin
on his face.
However, the second the alien finished speaking, Rocky waved his hand, and the alien who had just
been goading him spat out a mouthful of blood and was sent flying.
At the sight of this, the other aliens were taken by surprise as their eyes widened. It was the very first
time that they had seen a mere human being that could hurt their kind with just a single blow.
Without paying attention to the rest of them, Rocky walked steadily and went straight towards the gate.
Seeing Rocky's haughty attitude, these aliens couldn't help but feel infuriated. They felt that they were
being belittled by this human and they couldn't just let this slip by. Thus, they immediately launched a
joint attack to take him down.
But soon they learned that this person wasn't really an ordinary one. No matter what kind of attack they
hurled, they couldn't even touch Rocky's clothes, let alone land a strike on him.
With this, Rocky reached the gate without even sustaining any damage.
"Hey, brat! You don't know what you're doing! If you don't have any spell to protect yourself, the
moment you step inside, you won't be able to withstand the power of the gate and will be killed!" one of
them sneered as they helplessly let Rocky get past them.
Rocky, on the other hand, acted like he didn't hear them and stepped right into the gate without any
hesitation or hint of fear. Then, his figure instantly disappeared into the dazzling light.
The next moment, the entire gate began to tremble violently as if it was going to collapse at any time.
The aliens outside were dumbfounded at this scene. It turned out that they also didn't know what was
going on.
Whoosh!
All of a sudden, a strong blinding light burst out from the gate that devoured the surroundings, including
the aliens that Rocky faced earlier.
After quite some time, the striking light gradually dissipated and revealed the aftermath of the
explosion. Apparently, only the strongest among the aliens was able to survive, but even he suffered
from severe injuries.
"Who the hell is that guy? I must inform our leader right away!" The alien struggled hard just to stand
straight. He spat a lot of blood as he talked, but managed to chant a spell, turning him into a beam of
black light that rushed back into the gate.
A moment later, a flash of golden light shone in front of the gate and revealed a majestic figure. It was
none other than the Holy Lord who had come to stop Rocky's plan. However, when he got there, Rocky
was nowhere in sight.
"Am I too late? This is bad. That guy is really reckless. I can't believe that he actually broke into the
alien land. Unfortunately, he has already inherited a part of my power. It means that the alien land will
immediately reject him. I don't know what's going to happen from here on. It seems that I have no
choice but to let him do what he wants. If he managed to survive even this ordeal, maybe he can really
save the Wild Spirit Land again," the Holy Lord said as he sighed. After taking a last glance at the gate,
he instantly turned into a beam of golden light and soared into the sky.
Just as the Holy Lord had suspected, Rocky, who thought that he could easily pass through the gate
with the current strength he possessed, was instantly sucked into a fierce vortex the second he
stepped into the gate. Even with his power as a half-god, he was not able to break himself free. Due to
the intense pressure and impact being inflicted by the vortex, he eventually felt like he was losing his
strength and ultimately lost consciousness.
At the same time, because of the power of the Holy Lord that was stored within Rocky's body, it also
caused an unforeseeable repercussion towards the gate. Consequently, the gate suddenly
disappeared from the mysterious area in the Wild Spirit Land as if it was never there in the first place.
When Rocky finally regained his senses, he found himself lying by a river with clear water gushing
through it. Half of his body was soaked in the water and he found that he was almost naked.
"Tch. It seems that I have overestimated my strength. I didn't know that they have prepared something
like that." Rocky struggled to get up as he still felt that his body hadn't fully recovered. Soon enough, he
discovered that something was actually wrong with him. That was when he realized that the power that
he acquired from the Holy Lord had already disappeared.
"What? How did this happen?" Rocky was in a daze for a moment. Without the divine power of the Holy
Lord, he had totally lost his advantage in facing the creatures of the alien land. He knew that the races
residing in this land were far more powerful than those of the Wild Spirit Land. He went here to save
Marcia and the others, but now that he had lost the power of the Holy Lord, he didn't know how he
could pull that off.
Rocky tried to check repeatedly, but the result was still the same. After a while, he had finally
concluded that there was no way for him to regain the power of the Holy Lord.
For now, his current strength would probably be equal to an advanced spiritual master, which was
pretty much above the Immortal Stage—the highest level among the human spirit manipulators.
At least, he could still somehow protect himself from the weaker creatures of this land. As long he did
not encounter the powerful ones, like the creatures who led the battle against the allied army, he should
be fine.
As someone who had just arrived in this land, Rocky found it necessary to familiarize himself with his
surroundings first. Therefore, he entered his Magic Spiritual Space at once and changed his clothes to
disguise himself. After that, he quickly went on his way.
Originally, he planned to fly directly to a nearby town, but when he was about to do so, he found that he
couldn't even do that with his current strength.
It was a bit strange but he soon understood why. Nothing was wrong with his body. It was just that the
gravity on this land was several times stronger compared to that on the Wild Spirit Land. Moreover, he
also noticed that the spiritual power concentration in this place was far denser, which also explained
why the races of this land were much stronger than the creatures of the Wild Spirit
Land.
