"No, I reckon it won't end well for us if we keep fighting head-on. If you trust me, I think the best chance

we have of surviving this is if we retreat to the west," Rocky suddenly said as he shook his head.

"Isn't the west a dead end?" Vivian asked after she took a glance at the direction.

"Since the topographic map was drawn by the reconnaissance team while they were trapped in an

illusion, it can't be accurate! If my guess is correct, that dead-end is likely to be the real exit. Come on,

let's give it a shot! Even if I'm wrong, we'll be in a better position to fend off the attacks since we can fix

our defensive ranks there. It's miles better than the current situation we're in..." Rocky analyzed calmly.

Upon hearing his words, Vivian found herself staring at Rocky in awe. She didn't expect he would be so

level headed while in such a dangerous situation. It was apparent this wasn't his first time staring at

death's doors.

Speechless, Valeria also had her eyes locked on Rocky.

"Miss Vivian, we don't have much time." While they were lost in thought, the Diabolic Flaming Wolves

had slowly crept up on them, ready to pounce at any moment.

"Everyone, listen to me. Move to the west." After taking everything into consideration, Vivian knew she

had no better choice than to trust Rocky's decision.

As soon as they heard her command, the troops wasted no time and began marching westwards.

A calm breeze greeted them when they arrived at the west side of the valley, lifting their spirits.

"There's wind!" Vivian's beautiful eyes immediately lit up since it meant that they were heading in the

right direction.

"Sure enough, we are still trapped in the illusory trick," Rocky murmured as he narrowed his eyes.

As soon as she heard this, Vivian instantly unleashed a stream of her spiritual power, breaking the

illusory scene in front of them, revealing a fork road ahead.

But at the same time, the wolves had caught on with them, killing several men at the front lines.

She knew well enough that their enemies wouldn't allow them to leave just like that. And so, she called

out two warriors at the Emperor Realm and asked them to pick a dozen elite members to hold back the

wolves while the rest retreated to safety.

"Valeria, you lead the rest to safety," Vivian said.

"Are you not coming with us?" Valeria asked with a worried frown.

"These wolves are not easy to deal with. I have to stay and fight them," she answered in a determined

tone. As the leader of this army, she knew it was her duty to fight with her men to ensure their lives and

safety.

"Then be careful!" Valeria said in a hurry. She then led everyone towards the fork road, desperate to

get as much distance between them and the wolves.

If the wolves caught up with them, she knew it would surely spell the end for everyone.

After a few hundred meters, Rocky suddenly stopped in his tracks and said, "Make sure to bring them

all to the exit and form your ranks there. I'll be back as soon as I can."

"Why? Where are you going?" Valeria asked immediately.

"I don't think Miss Vivian has the strength to fend off the wolves on her own. I have to help them,"

Rocky said with a grim face.

"Stop. I'll go. I'm better suited to help them," Valeria said. She didn't think it would be of much help if

Rocky was the one who went back.

"If you go, who will lead the team here?" As soon as the words left his mouth, Rocky disappeared into

thin air.

"This guy..." Rendered speechless, she stomped her foot at the ground in both anger and annoyance.

But she knew better than to let her emotions get the best of her in such a critical moment. And so, after

taking a couple of deep breaths to calm herself down, she continued to lead the team to safety.

As Rocky pointed out, the rear guards were having a hard time fighting against the wolves. The

canines' bodies were lit on fire, making it hard for them to approach the wolves to attack even with a

dozen Spiritual Kings by their side. Not only that, but the wolves also boasted elite levels of physical

strength, making only one attack from them lethal.

In a matter of minutes, more than thirty men have already been killed or gravely injured.

Vivian and the remainder of her people were on their last leg.

"Miss Vivian, take the injured and retreat to safety. We'll stay here and hold them off!" a Spiritual

Emperor who was very loyal to the Ghost Fief said.

The other Spiritual Emperors also echoed his remarks, hoping that Vivian would retreat for her safety.

"No! You'll lead the rest of the men out of here while I hold them off. Go!" A flood of aura suddenly

came crashing out of her body. In a flash, she suddenly charged towards the wolves and began to

unleash a volley of attacks on them.

Filled with fighting power, she killed two wolves in an instant, but more took their place. Soon enough,

she was surrounded from all directions.

With dozens of enemies pouncing on her one after the other, her power slowly dwindled down as she

fought for her life. She knew it was impossible for her to kill them all.

The moment she thought this was finally her end, the wolves suddenly raised their heads as if

something caught their attention. Soon enough they scurried towards the other direction, frantically

searching for something.

In a few moments, each and every canine ran away from them.

Shocked, she looked around trying to see what drove them off, when Rocky suddenly appeared in front

of them.

"What are you waiting for? Get up. Koko won't fool them for long," Rocky said as he winked at Vivian. It

turned out, he ordered Kohen to release the fragrance of dragon saliva to attract the wolves away from

Vivian and her men.

But he knew Kohen was no match for these savage canines, so Rocky knew they only had a few

moments to make their escape.

Vivian came back to her senses at once and led her team away from the battlefield along with Rocky.

When the Diabolic Flaming Wolves realized that they had been fooled, it was already too late.

Meanwhile, inside the spiritual array of the messy stones located in the depths of the valley, a low-level

Spiritual Emperor suddenly opened his eyes and spoke to Tobias sitting beside him. "They have seen

through my illusion and fought their way out of the press. They have already escaped."

"What?!" Tobias shouted in disbelief. He thought that it would be enough to wipe out the united guard

team if he led them into the wolves' den. Not only did they survive, but they also managed to escape.

He was wrong to underestimate the army led by Rocky and Valeria.

"However, because of the chaos just now, they were forced to split their group into two. Valeria led a

large group to safety while Vivian and a handful of others stayed behind to hold off the wolves.

Although they managed to escape from the trap, I changed the routes of the whole valley using my

illusory skills. They shouldn't be able to meet up in time," the low-level Spiritual Emperor said with a sly

smile.

"Well done. Let's defeat them one by one! But which group should we start with?" After feeling

vindicated, Tobias suddenly hesitated to act.

"There are many casualties on Vivian's side, and she is no longer a threat to us. I think it would be

better if we capture Valeria first. I heard that her beauty is unlike any other. If someone like her

becomes our prisoner, then..." the low-level Spiritual Emperor said as he almost drooled.

"Yes. That makes sense." Tobias immediately agreed on this idea.
