The Medallion Chapter 1417 The Arrangement

After thinking things through, Tessa said to Rocky, "I live here alone and there's no spare room, I'm

afraid. If you're tired, you can go to my chamber and have a rest. I'll just stay here with Nightshade."

"Oh, no, Miss Tessa. I don't think that's a good idea. You can't let him enter your chamber to rest!"

Ramon contradicted.

At that moment, it seemed that the disciples of the Sword Spirit City just outside the Fragrance Pavilion

were even more excited when they heard Tessa's offer. As a matter of fact, they felt that Rocky was so

lucky to be able to rest in Tessa's boudoir.

"Why is that so? It won't matter anyway," Tessa said nonchalantly. Frankly, she didn't know what the

problem was in the first place.

"Well, forget it. I'm just afraid of the possibility that I might be assassinated if I stayed there. May I know

if there is there a woodshed in the Fragrance Pavilion?" Rocky inquired while waving his hand. Deep

down, he was aware that Tessa's arrangement was a tad bit inappropriate.

"Oh, yes, there is. It's right behind this room. But the last time I checked, it was kind of messy," Tessa

replied as she nodded.

"Well, that would be enough for me. So, I'm heading there to have my rest. Bye." As soon as his voice

trailed off, he walked away and headed to the back of the pavilion. Just as he expected, he saw a

dusty, old wooden house. He peeked through the door, entered it and saw a pile of wood that he

assumed was used for heating the room during winter.

Immediately, he cleared the room for a bit and then sat on the ground. He then looked left and right to

check if there was anyone around. After making sure that the coast was clear, he entered his Magic

Spiritual Space.

And because he came into this world in a hurry this time, he didn't have time to prepare in advance.

And the treasures that he had stored were all collected while he was still in the Wild Spirit Land.

However, these treasures would not be able to help him in this world. After all, the level of this world

was much higher than that of the Wild Spirit Land. Therefore, the same rule was applied to the

treasures.

Meanwhile, Rocky cleaned for a bit and afterwards went into the lab. There, he studied some of the

spiritual beast blood samples that he had collected before, including the one he had just secretly

collected from Nightshade.

After analyzing the samples, he learned that the gene of the spiritual beast in this world was quite

different from that in the Wild Spirit Land. What he found the most interesting was the fact that the

urgenome was very different and more complicated. No wonder the spiritual beasts in this world were

so powerful.

Rocky stayed for a few hours in the lab before leaving. He then left his Magic Spiritual Space and went

back to the woodshed, and made his way to the front yard.

Meanwhile, it was already getting dark. Ramon and the disciples of the Sword Spirit City who guarded

the outside of the Fragrance Pavilion had already left, leaving only Tessa bending over Nightshade's

body. Her face showed exhaustion that she immediately fell asleep despite being in an uncomfortable

position.

Upon seeing that Tessa was already asleep, Rocky entered the room as silently as possible so as not

to wake her up. Then, he took a red cloak and put it on for Tessa to make her a little comfortable. But

as soon as the cloak touched her, she suddenly woke up. Her eyes fell on the cloak, and realized that

Rocky might have placed it there for her. So, she raised her head and said to Rocky, "Thank you."

"Go inside and have a rest. I will be here to take care of it," Rocky offered genuinely.

"No, I'd like to stay here. I won't be relieved until it wakes up," Tessa said firmly, shaking her head.

"It'll take some time before it wakes up. In fact, you won't be helping even if you continue to stay here.

You'd better go in. I'll wake you up when it wakes up," Rocky persuaded her.

After hesitating for a while, Tessa finally gave in. After all, what he said made sense. She took a long

look at Nightshade and then finally went inside the room to have a rest.

Seeing that Tessa had entered the room, Rocky immediately took the opportunity to collect more

information from the Heavenly Diabolic Dragon and Nightshade for further analysis.

After collecting what he needed, he sat cross-legged beside Nightshade, trying to recover while waiting

for it to wake up.

The night passed by so quickly that no one noticed that it was already daytime when Rocky, who was

in the middle of cultivation, suddenly heard a rattling sound beside him.

Upon opening his eyes, he saw that Nightshade was looking up at him with its huge eyes, full of

curiosity.

"Hello there, are you finally awake?" Seeing that Nightshade had successfully woken up without any

visible injuries, Rocky could not help but smile from ear to ear. Now, he was certain that his hard work

was not in vain.

Excited with the result, Rocky went over to Tessa's door to tell her the exhilarating news. But just as he

was about to knock, Tessa already walked out of her room. At that moment, she could not help but cry

with joy upon seeing Nightshade alive and well. Brimming with excitement, she rushed to it and

wrapped her arms around its neck. Nightshade, on the other hand, also stuck out its tongue and licked

Tessa's face gently, as if trying to please her.

However, this warm scene did not last too long, for they were rudely interrupted by several people from

the outside. These people were led by a middle-aged man with a few strands of gray hair. He was

about fifty years old, with a square face and chiseled jaw. He was tall and strong, which gave him a

rather domineering look. His spiritual aura was profound and impenetrable. Behind him stood three

relatively younger people—two men and a woman—who appeared to be some officials of rank. All of

them had strong spiritual auras, giving off the impression that they were above the King Realm, at the

least.

Moreover, Ramon followed them closely behind.

"Tessa," the middle-aged man called out.

"Dad, what are you doing here?" Tessa asked. Confused as to why her father was here, she

immediately glared at Ramon, knowing that it must be him who tipped her off.

This man was none other than Harrison Huang, the governor of the Sword Spirit City.

"Ramon said that you allowed a stranger to stay in the Fragrance Pavilion. Is he the one?" Harrison

Huang asked with a long face after he took a few cold glances over Rocky.

"Stranger? No, you must understand that he is more than a mere stranger. He saved Nightshade!"

Tessa responded in a cute tone similar to that of a spoiled little child.

"I don't care who he is and what he has done! You can't let an unknown person stay in your place. He

is man, after all!" Harrison Huang reprimanded.

"I don't see why it matters. He is just an ordinary person. It's not like he would bring me any trouble,"

Tessa pouted in dismay.

"You are still young. You know what? You can't judge a book by its cover. You'll never know who he

really is just by judging him from the outside." As soon as Harrison Huang's voice trailed off, he waved

his hand. Soon after, a stream of violent spiritual power instantly surged out, dashing towards Rocky.

"Dad! No!" Taken aback, Tessa could not help but shout.

Rocky knew that Harrison Huang was just trying to see if he was just an ordinary person like Tessa

claimed him to be. However, his power was not weak at all. In fact, even if Rocky tried his best to resist

it, there was still a possibility that he might not be able to completely suppress his attack. On the other

hand, if he counterattacked, then it would surely expose his strength. At that moment, it seemed that he

had no other choice but to stay still and do nothing.

But just when the violent spiritual power was about to hit Rocky, it suddenly vanished into thin air.

'Looks like my daughter is telling the truth. Perhaps, he is really an ordinary person after all,' Harrison

thought to himself when he saw that the strange young man didn't flinch when exposed to the attack.

Meanwhile, Tessa heaved a sigh of relief. Nervous, she had thought that Rocky was done for. After all,

he was just an ordinary person who could not resist her father's spiritual power.

"Thank you for your mercy, sir!" Rocky immediately cupped his hands in gratitude as he pretended to

be in panic.

"So, Dad, can he stay here?" Tessa asked at once.

"You said that he had saved Nightshade? That only means that he truly has some abilities. But he can't

stay in the Fragrance Pavilion," Harrison Huang replied grimly.

Tessa's face turned gloomy, but soon, she came up with another idea and said, "He said he is a beast

curer traveling all over the world. Why don't we let him stay in our Sword Spirit City as a beast curer

instead? Plus, he can come over and take care of Nightshade after. Is that okay?"

"Well..." Harrison Huang took his time to think things through. But he knew his dear daughter's

personality well. If he didn't allow her to do so, then she would surely make a scene again. As a result,

he had to compromise, saying, "Well, he can stay in the beast farm, but only temporarily!"

Soon after, he turned and ordered Ramon, "Ramon, I'll leave it to you."

"Yes, My Lord," Ramon replied, cupping his hands. However, this was not what he was expecting to

happen. After Harrison Huang's surprise visit, he didn't think that Rocky would still end up staying here.

However, there was nothing he could do to drive Rocky away for the time being.

Not long after, Harrison Huang turned around and left with the three officials who came here with him.
