“There are many powerful hunters like me in the spiritual race because only we possess the power to

collect precious materials from spiritual beasts,” the man explained.

"I see. Then I'll bother you no further." Rocky smiled casually as he was about to leave.

“Wait. A moment please,” the man from the spiritual race pleaded as he raced to stop him.

“Is there anything else I can do for you?” Rocky asked as he gazed back at him.

“My name is Asa. I owe you a favor this time. Once the opportunity presents itself, I promise I’ll return

the favor,” he promised.

“I’m Basil. Please, it was nothing. Don’t mention it. Goodbye!” Rocky shot him a smile before he turned

and finally left.

‘Basil? I feel as though I’ve heard that name before,’ Asa thought to himself for a moment. After a

while, he made his way towards the spiritual beast’s corpse and began to collect precious materials

from it.

After Rocky returned to the Heavenly Rain Valley, he noticed Bertram ordering several hundred

soldiers to build fortifications.

“Spiritual King Basil, where have you been? I’ve been looking all over for you!” Bertram walked up to

Rocky as soon as he saw him.

“I went for a stroll. What’s up?” Rocky asked nonchalantly.

“I want your advice. It’s challenging to build fortifications in the Heavenly Rain Valley because it’s too

narrow. I’m afraid there won’t be enough space to set up tents. In that case, several thousand soldiers

will have to sleep under the clouds and stars,” Bertram commented lugubriously.

“It’s a waste of space to build fortifications on such a terrain. It’s useless,” Rocky commented as he

looked around the valley.

“That’s why I wanted to know if you had any good ideas!” Bertram said. His intuition told him that Rocky

might be able to come up with a perfect solution.

“You’re certain you want my advice?” Rocky asked, squinting his eyes.

“Of course,” Bertram nodded reassuringly.

"I suggest we build fortifications on the three cliffs surrounding the valley,” Rocky commented as he

pointed at the three precipices that towered over the Heavenly Rain Valley.

“You intend to build the fortifications on the cliff walls?” Bertram was stunned.

“That’s right. Since the area is too narrow, we’ll need a more spacious place. The precipices around the

Heavenly Rain Valley grow wider as they rise. Building the fortifications on the precipices will save a lot

of space and will play to our advantage as an effective defense tactic,” Rocky voiced out his

observation and plan.

“But building that will cost an enormous amount of manpower and resources!” Although Bertram

believed that Rocky’s idea could solve the space issue, it also had its notable disadvantages.

“I’ll order my Purple-flaming Phoenix and Human-shaped Giant Beasts to help you. This will help save

you a lot of time during construction,” Rocky offered.

“Thank you. We would greatly appreciate it if you could design the fortifications for us as well!” Bertram

was aware of Rocky’s creativity, which was why he pleaded with him.

Rocky shook his head with a bitter smile. He ordered someone to bring him pens and paper so he

could begin designing the fortifications of the Heavenly Rain Valley.

Generally speaking, fortifications usually consisted of large-scale barriers.

But since the fortifications they were building would be on higher ground, they would need to ensure

that the soldiers could move flexibly around them. Rocky designed a plank road surrounding the entire

Heavenly Rain Valley. It extended from the bottom to the top, connecting the cliff walls to the ground

below. Its width was enough for five soldiers to walk side-by-side. This would guarantee easier access.

Of course, this plank road was only the most basic component. The so-called fortifications would need

to be built strong enough to resist enemy attacks. Building such fortifications in midair might sound

impossible, but Rocky possessed valuable advanced knowledge.

Since the precipices around the Heavenly Rain Valley were relatively low, Rocky thought of building

catapults and additional traps that would cause great destruction.

His finished designs stunned Bertram.

“You invented all of these?” As Bertram further scrutinized the drawings, he couldn’t help but gasp in

awe. He doubted whether these fortifications could be designed by a human.

“Sort of!” Rocky smiled. In fact, he simply used his knowledge regarding the most modern designs he

came across.

“You’re indeed a gifted genius for being able to design such fortifications!” Bertram commended him.

“No need to flatter me. Let’s hurry up. I’ll summon my Purple-flaming Phoenix and Human-shaped

Giant Beasts to help you get started.” After he finished speaking, Rocky summoned the beasts from the

Magic Spiritual Space.

It was much easier to construct in the air with the help of the Purple-flaming Phoenix. The heavy

manual work was handed over to the Human-shaped Giant Beasts, which saved a lot of manpower.

Of course, Rocky didn’t just sit idly by. He ordered several Dark Heaven Insects to dig some tunnels

beneath the Heavenly Rain Valley for the upcoming battles.

After several days of rapid construction, the fortifications finally began to take shape. Tucker was quite

satisfied and praised Rocky once more upon examining everything.

Before the fortifications could be finished, however, a spiritual race army suddenly stormed through the

Heavenly Rain Valley.

Fortunately, the army was only composed of twenty thousand soldiers—the same scale as Tucker’s

army.

Although they were equal in number, Rocky soon realized that this spiritual race army was different

from the previous ones. They were trained well and, judging from their formation, seemed to be very

skilled at using arrays.

“Commander Wang, this is no ordinary troop. Be careful!” Rocky reminded.

“We’ve guarded the Tiger Whisker Pass against fifty thousand enemies. Defeating twenty thousand

soldiers will be a piece of cake for us!” It seemed Tucker had grown arrogant after the battle at the

Tiger Whisker Pass.

Rocky said nothing more.

“Deputy Commander Ma, lead the soldiers to battle!” Tucker commanded immediately.

Deputy Commander Ma immediately led a troop to counter the enemies.

Meanwhile, the spiritual race army also sent out a vanguard of five thousand soldiers to fight against

Deputy Commander Ma’s.

As the two troops collided, Deputy Commander Ma’s troop was immediately at a disadvantage

because the enemies began to file into formation, just as Rocky expected. Although it was just an

ordinary array, it was enough to make Deputy Commander Ma’s defenseless.

“I didn’t expect the spiritual race would know how to use such arrays!” It was the first time Tucker had

witnessed that.

“Well, everything is possible!” Rocky remained calm. He knew there was no time to panic. Besides, the

enemy’s arrays weren’t even that powerful.
