The Medallion Chapter 1612 His Plan

The moment that the speed of the human race's army increased, surprise filled Isabel's face. Her

Snake Array could use the mysterious power and make her army march faster. Logically speaking, it

should be easy to catch up with the human race's army. What she hadn't been expecting was that the

human race's army would also speed up. She thought hard but she couldn't figure out what kind of trick

they had used.

Despite this, she did not give up. Instead, she chased after the human race's army as fast as she

could.

Moving quickly, the troops led by Tucker arrived at the west of the Heavenly Rain Valley. There, they

met the army of five thousand soldiers that was led by Bertram. The latter had to wait there for the

ambush. Afterward, Tucker and his army turned and retreated into the Heavenly Rain Valley, leaving

Bertram and his army behind.

The moment that Isabel and her army arrived, they were ambushed by Bertram's army.

All around them, countless arrows flew from a covered area on one side of the forest. Soon, the sky

was covered with them. It looked like it was raining.

"There is an ambush. Stop chasing them!" Isabel ordered, stopping in her tracks. She had thought that

the human army was too busy running to set up an ambush. Because she was cautious and

determined, she called her army back to her side.

However, as a result of the sudden ambush, her army was panicking.

After completing their task, Bertram and his army walked away, leaving the spiritual race's army in its

chaos. Now, they were scouting the area to see if there would be a second ambush.

Before long, Isabel realized that she had been fooled and she grew even angrier. However, the human

race's army had already retreated without a trace, so she had no other choice but to retreat too.

By the time Tucker and his army returned to the Heavenly Rain Valley, he had broken out in a cold

sweat.

They waited for a while until Bertram and his army joined them.

Then, Tucker summoned Rocky, three deputy commanders, and Eunice to his tent to discuss what to

do next.

"The enemy commander is so powerful! I almost fell into her trap!" Tucker exclaimed. There was still

some fear lingering in his eyes.

"Yes. She seems to be quite proficient at the mysterious military arrays. Fortunately, I saw through the

array she deployed just in time. Otherwise, sir, you would have suffered losses," Rocky stated. In fact,

he had asked Tucker to go out to meet the enemy in order to see how strong the enemy's array would

be. There had been no reason for Rocky to suspect that the enemy commander would be that

proficient at the mysterious military arrays.

"Yes, and she is a female. She's going to be difficult to get rid of!" Tucker sighed.

"Their strength is superior to ours, and their commander understands the mysterious military arrays

well. We are at a disadvantage," Rocky commented with a frown.

"Basil, aren't you also proficient at the mysterious military arrays? If we were to use them, I think we

may be able to regain the upper hand," Bertram proposed.

"I am, but I can't teach the soldiers the more profound mysterious military array now because there isn't

enough time. Besides, it looked like the spiritual race's army has been trained very strictly. We could

use arrays to fight them, but we may still suffer losses in the battle. And we can't forget that their army

can change their array very fast. I saw it with my own eyes. I wasn't expecting it," Rocky added.

"So you're saying that we're in grave danger?" Tucker asked. It was at that moment that he realized

that the situation was more serious than he had originally thought.

"It's more than that. I'm worried that the spiritual race's army knows the limits of our strength. If they do,

they will attack the Heavenly Rain Valley in a couple of days," Rocky said with a frown. The only

purpose behind the spiritual race's army setting up so many arrays was to test the strength of the

human race's army. Therefore, the enemy commander must know exactly what their strengths and

weaknesses were.

"Do you have a plan?" Tucker asked Rocky as more worry crept onto his face.

"The Heavenly Rain Valley is hard to defend. Once we are attacked, we will find ourselves in a situation

where we can't fight back. If we want to change our fate, we have to rely on the fortification we just

built," Rocky explained.

"What fortification?" Tucker asked, furrowing his eyebrows.

"I designed a fortification that matches the terrain of the Heavenly Rain Valley. The layout of the valley

is like a cage. If a bird flies in, whether by accident or on purpose, it will have a hard time getting out,"

Rocky answered, using a simple metaphor.

"It seems that you've already anticipated this! You are inspiring!" Tucker praised, feeling a rush of joy

cut through his anxiety.

"I don't claim to be an inspiration. It's only chance that my original plan was designed to fit our current

conditions. I didn't expect to be able to use it so soon," Rocky replied calmly.

"I wonder when they will launch the attack! We have to prepare! They could come at any time!" Tucker

continued.

"Now that they failed to lure us out, I think they will become restless fast. I believe they will launch an

attack tomorrow. So we need to send our men to the entrance of the Heavenly Rain Valley and get

them to form a defensive line. Then our men will pretend to resist the spiritual race's army before luring

them into the Heavenly Rain Valley." Rocky carefully laid out the details of his plan.

"But our enemy is stronger than us. If their whole army enters the valley, we will still be at a

disadvantage! We can't handle all of them!" Eunice questioned.

"I know. That is why we must separate them. Deputy Commander Fei, tonight, you will lead three

thousand soldiers out of the valley and take cover near the camp of the spiritual race's army. Tomorrow,

when they launch attacks, you will ambush them. After they realize what is happening, they will send a

part of their forces to protect the camp and their provisions. That way, they will be in small enough

chunks for us to handle," Rocky answered. He had been planning everything out in his mind. Now, they

had to hurry to put it into action.

"That will work," Bertram replied, nodding.

"Basil, I'm relieved to see you so confident," Tucker said, breathing out a deep sigh.

"This isn't the time to start slacking! We can't underestimate the strength of our enemy. Prepare all of

the soldiers for a fight!" Rocky said. Then, he departed.

That evening, Bertram and Eunice led an army of three thousand people out of the Heavenly Rain

Valley and they crept under the shade of the trees. After lots of walking, they stopped in a hidden area

that was three miles away from the military camp of the spiritual race's army.

Meanwhile, as Rocky had predicted, Isabel was planning on launching a general attack on the

Heavenly Rain Valley the next day. At that moment, she had gathered all her deputy commanders and

leaders and they were discussing the offensive tactics they would need.

Early in the morning of the second day, the spiritual race's army suited up and marched to the entrance

of the Heavenly Rain Valley. And this time, they didn't stop and provoke their enemies. Instead, they

launched a fierce attack against the defensive line of the Heavenly Rain Valley that was standing at the

entrance.

After fighting back with all their might, the defensive line suddenly collapsed and retreated into the

Heavenly Rain Valley.
