'Did he just call me Corey?' "Who are you?" Rocky eventually asked. Rocky could just guess that this

man could sense Corey's aura from his body, so he had mistaken him for Corey.

"What are you talking about? Don't you remember me? What happened? Were you reincarnated

already? Is that why you have lost your memory?" the pair of demonic eyes asked.

"I'm not Corey and he has not been reincarnated either. It's just that I have inherited his power," Rocky

answered honestly.

"Oh, I see. Then that explains why you can't even deal with that weak demon," the demonic eyes said

in a teasing tone.

"So, are you the one who saved me just now?" Rocky still asked although he was already quite sure

about it.

"Well, I sensed Corey's aura from your body, so I thought that my old friend has finally come back. It

seems that he is no longer living if someone already inherited his power," the demonic eyes remarked

in a pretty arrogant tone.

"If I may ask, am I at the top floor of the Heavenly Demon Tower?" Rocky asked upon getting the

opportunity. After all, if he was, he was already close to accomplishing the king's task and leaving.

"Oh, I'm afraid it's not. This is actually a separate space that Corey created in order to seal me off. But

to tell you the truth, I did not expect that someone would be able to enter this space aside from Corey.

Although you are not Corey's reincarnated body, I am still quite sure that you can destroy this space by

using the power that you inherited from him."

"Sir, does it mean that you are the legendary demonic spirit that is sealed inside the Heavenly Demon

Tower? Are you asking me to destroy this space so that I can release you?" Based on Rocky's

experience earlier, he had accidentally released the king of the giant demon race by dissolving the

enchanted barrier that kept him sealed. Now, he thought that this man with demonic eyes was tricking

him into doing the same thing. Moreover, he could clearly tell that this man was more powerful than the

king of the giant demon race. Hence, if Rocky mistakenly freed this demon, he could already imagine

the dire consequences.

"No, of course not. I want you to destroy this space along with me..." Rocky was instantly

dumbfounded, not expecting that this would be the response that he would hear.

"Sir, I think you are overestimating my strength. Just as you said earlier, I had a hard time dealing with

the member of the giant demon race. Therefore, I can't imagine doing what you want me to," Rocky

replied, letting out a bitter smile.

"Listen. Corey specifically built this tower in order to seal me and let my power gradually decline. It has

been many years since then, and my power has already reached to the point that I can be easily

vanquished. As long as this space is destroyed, I will disappear as well. You are Corey's successor,

aren't you? It means that you have the ability to do that," the man with demonic eyes revealed.

"It sounds very convincing, but how do I know if you are telling the truth? I also inherited Corey's

memories, but I haven't found anything about you in them." Apparently, while they were conversing,

Rocky had been searching about this demon in Corey's memories. But in contrast to what he had been

saying, Rocky did not find anything. It was either the demon was lying or all the memories regarding

him was erased.

"Well, I'm guessing that he erased the part of his memory that contained my existence since he did not

want anyone to know about it. After all, if someone learned about it, it will cause a great uproar, and the

entire Shura Continent might get destroyed," the demon replied seriously.

"Sir, who exactly are you?" Rocky could not keep himself from asking anymore. The more he listened

to the eyes' answer, the more he became confused.

"Me? I'm Phillip." the demon answered in a gloomy voice.

Of course, Rocky was shocked to his core when he heard this. All along, they thought that Phillip's soul

was sealed in the Purgatorial Tripod. They even fought a life and death battle in the Ghostly Demon

Land just to secure the tripod. But in the end, Corey had already moved his soul into the Heavenly

Demon Tower. On the other hand, it was a brilliant strategy from Corey. After all, the demonic race had

no idea that even if they acquired the Purgatorial Tripod, they would not be able to free Phillip's soul.

"So, are you saying that King Corey deceive the demonic race and brought you out of the Demon

Sealing Palace a long time ago?" Rocky asked after figuring out what might have possibly happened.

"Yes. But you are mistaken if you are thinking that he transferred my soul here because he was worried

that my soul might get stolen." Phillip then hinted at something that seemed to be even bigger.

"What do you mean? There was another reason?" Although Rocky already had a hunch, he did not

dare say it out loud.

"Since you have his memories, you should know that he did not reach the God Realm in his lifetime.

He sealed me in this tower because he wanted to refine me. After all, that would be the only way that

he could reach the God Realm and enter the Holy-Evil World. He designed this tower to gradually

consume my strength, and when I am already at my weakest state, he could readily refine me." Phillip

revealed a flabbergasting truth. No one would expect that Corey, who had been very devoted to

maintaining the peace of the Shura Continent, actually had hidden selfish motives.

"No. I don't believe that..." Obviously, Rocky had a hard time processing and accepting this information.

However, after he had careful thinking, Phillip's statements made more sense. If Corey was the one

who built the tower, why were his memories regarding the tower incomplete? Why was there no

information about him sealing Phillip's soul there?

"I'm not really convincing you to believe me. I just thought that you have to hear the truth. In fact, since

my current strength has already declined a lot, you can try and refine my soul. Corey was not able to

do it, but if you successfully refine my soul, you can reach the God Realm," Phillip said as if provoking

Rocky to do it.

"Is this your way of testing me, sir? You said that you are Phillip, but do you have any concrete

evidence to prove that? Besides, you keep on saying that your strength is greatly depleted, but you still

sound very energetic. How do I know that I won't get tricked if I start refining your soul?" Even if his

offer was very enticing, Rocky would not easily believe the words of the man who was once the ruler of

the demonic race. If he let himself fall for his trap, the consequences would be beyond what he could

imagine.

"Ha-ha! Well, that is a trait of a powerful warrior. I cannot blame you for being suspicious of me. Just as

you said, I cannot present any definitive proof. However, I can only repeat myself. What I said is the

truth. It is your choice if you believe me or not." Even Rocky could feel the sincerity in Phillip's tone this

time.

"I don't actually need such a thing. What I want is to leave the tower. That's all." Even after learning the

truth about Corey sealing Phillip's soul in the Heavenly Demon Tower, Rocky did not want to involve

himself in this matter. Since no one knew about this aside from him, he could just keep this secret to his

grave. After all, it was safer that way. Moreover, if he just left Phillip's soul there, then Philip could not

do anything to stir up trouble in his current condition.

"You are the one who brought me here, so I know that you can also send me out. Although, if it is

possible, can you send me straight to the top floor of the Heavenly Demon Tower?" Rocky tried to

plead.

"Even if I want to do that, I'm afraid I can't. The Heavenly Demon Tower operates according to its own

rules, and I can't interfere with that. If I send you back, you will just return on the fifth floor."

"What? Really? Are you sure you are not just saying that out of spite?" Rocky asked with narrowed

eyes.

"Of course not. I don't have to lie to you," Phillip replied flatly.

"That would be troublesome then. I haven't found a way to safely get out of the fifth floor yet..." Rocky

said, shaking his aching head.

"What are you worried about? It's just a member of the giant demon race. It's not as powerful as you

think. Moreover, you have the Purgatorial Tripod with you, right? You can use that to subdue it if you

really have no other way to deal with it," Phillip reminded.

"Oh, that's right! Your soul is not actually inside the tripod, so I can use it without any reservations."

Rocky was suddenly enlightened, and he somewhat regained his confidence.

"In addition to that, I have a treasure that can gather souls and spiritual power inside the Heavenly

Demon Tower. It is called the Demonic Goblet. You can also take it since no one will really use it

anymore. If you pair that with the Purgatorial Tripod, no spiritual being can resist their combined

strength." As soon as Phillip finished speaking, a two-foot wide goblet appeared before him. It was

shining with a purple light, and it exuded an evil aura.

"That is a demonic treasure, right?" At this point, Rocky could immediately recognize the difference

between a demonic treasure and a divine treasure.

"Yes, it is."

"It's fine then. I don't need it," Rocky decisively refused. Demonic treasures were known to emit a

strong fiendish aura, which could in turn affect the mind of the user. Hence, Rocky was afraid that it

might cause a negative impact on him once he used it. Although it would be very helpful, he preferred

not to take such a risk.
