"Koko's saliva is on it, but that's no ordinary saliva," Rocky muttered.
"You mean the saliva is special?" The girl seemed confused.
"You'll find out more once you look around at the spiritual beasts," Rocky hinted.
The girl immediately looked around and saw that all the spiritual beasts around them were staring at
the Earthly Dragon Root in Rocky's hand with their eyes wide open. The Earthly Dragon Root was a
powerful and precious spiritual treasure. However, it did not hold much attraction for spiritual beasts.
Upon seeing the beasts' behavior, she looked at the root in Rocky's hand once more and noticed that
the saliva on it was now condensing into little beads. The beads were releasing spiritual power.
"It looks like some sort of a miracle liquid..." She was highly knowledgeable in various fields but
couldn't explain the phenomenon.
Suddenly, her spiritual beast jumped forward and took the Earthly Dragon Root in its mouth without
hesitation. Throwing it on the ground, it began licking the root.
"Water!" The girl called out to her spiritual beast and her delicate face showed a morose expression.
She was helplessly muttering under her breath, 'You are the number one spiritual beast in the Sky-
suppressing School. You should act elegantly."
"Now do you understand?" Rocky asked with a smile.
"What kind of spiritual beast is that? It is very small but seems rather special." She looked at Kohen
curiously.
"Its name is Kohen. You may call it Koko."
"Kohen? What a weird name!" The girl never heard of such a strange name before.
"Yes. The name reminds me of something," Rocky replied, thinking of Ken and Uriah a bit sadly.
His expressions were slightly confusing for her. She was getting the feeling that he had lost a
particularly important beast. However, there was nothing else she could infer, and before she had a
chance to ask him, he spoke up himself.
"Would you please tell me your name? It's a pleasure to meet you here," he asked.
"Why should I tell you?" The girl immediately got alert.
"Because I want to know," Rocky replied emotionlessly.
"Then I won't tell you." The girl rolled her eyes at the straightforward response and then looked away.
"What can I do that would make you tell me that?" Came another Rocky's question.
"Perhaps I'll think about it if we meet again someday. But that is unlikely to happen since people like
you don't get to see me twice," she replied seriously. It was true. If Water hadn't insisted on taking a
bath in the Purple Bamboo Forest, she wouldn't even have been there.
"You seem greatly confident. Perhaps, when I become as powerful as you, I should be able to see you
again." Rocky smiled. He could see how immensely powerful she was and understood that her pride
was natural.
"I'm afraid that will be even more difficult because by the time you reach my level of strength, I will have
accomplished far greater things." There was an arrogant hint in her voice, but she did not seem
conceited. Instead, her pride arose out of an innate confidence.
"Really? What if I keep up with you in terms of strength?" Rocky asked.
"That's impossible. You will never catch up with me," she declared firmly.
"What if I make it happen somehow?" Rocky was insistent.
"Then I'll marry you." There was a momentary silence before the bold answer reached his ears.
"Are you kidding, right?" Rocky hadn't expected such a huge promise.
"No. I'm serious." The girl's eyebrows jumped up slightly but she was wearing a straight face.
"Isn't it a childish idea to bet on marriage?" He was surprised.
"No. I want to show you how weak a spirit warrior like you is in front of me. I also want to persuade you
to open your eyes to the reality of the world. I don't know how you entered the Sky-suppressing School,
but I don't think you are suitable to be a spirit warrior. I think it's best that you remain the ordinary
person you are, or you'll find how cruel the world of spirit warriors can be." She sounded dead serious.
"Your ideas sound enlightening. However, since I have a chance of marrying you, I am going to try my
best and catch up with you even if I must risk my life for that. I only hope that you will not regret your
decision when that day comes." Rocky cupped his hands.
"I am certain that I will never regret that decision. Take care of yourself. Remember, if we meet again
and you are more powerful than I am, I will marry you," she uttered proudly.
"Deal!" Rocky was delighted. The girl was clearly a genius but considering his experience and talent,
as well as the fact that he had the Scarlet Heaven Jade, he would be able to reach her level without too
much difficulty.
Of course, what she did not know was how much dead set she would be on following the man one day
because of her momentary arrogance.
"I'm leaving now," she declared and took out the Beast Spirit Jade. After putting her spiritual beast
away, she then turned into a fiery red phoenix shadow and flew out of the Purple Bamboo Forest.
Various spirit warriors who had come to the forest to look for spiritual beasts were shocked when they
saw a shadow of a phoenix fly out of the forest.
"Is that Lilith?"
"The Purple Bamboo Forest is a forbidden area. Anyone needs the permission of the school president
to enter it. However, Lilith is an exception to that rule. In the Sky-suppressing School and the Ethereal
Region, she is the youngest master at the King Realm who has obtained a Spiritual Infant at the
advanced stage. People say she is only one step away from successfully cultivating an Imperial Soul."
"Hasn't she been cultivating in seclusion for more than a year? How come she has suddenly returned
to the Sky-suppressing School?"
"I have heard that her spiritual beast likes bathing in the spiritual spring that flows in the Purple
Bamboo Forest to absorb its spiritual power. Perhaps she accompanied it here."
"What a pity! If I had come here earlier, I might have been able to see her."
"Very few people in the Sky-suppressing School have ever seen Lilith since she rarely makes an
appearance. Even when she does come there, her face will be veiled."
"I was wondering why my spiritual beast was out of control. Now I understand it was because of her
spiritual beast. It is the number one spiritual beast in the entire school and its strength has reached the
advanced stage of the Spiritual Infant."
While the disciples of the Sky-suppressing School were discussing the shadow, they saw an ordinary
figure swaggering out of the forest.
"Hey, hang on! How come this guy is coming out of the forbidden area?
Is he trying to court death? At the very least, he is going to be expelled from the school for breaking
into the forest without permission."
"Forget the school. Lilith just flew out of the forest, and he is leaving it behind her. Could it be that he
was having a tryst with her there?"
"That's impossible. He looks so plain and ordinary. There's no chance Lilith would ever have a crush on
him."
"That's true. His aura appears extremely weak. Unless Lilith is blind, she will never fall in love with that
trash."
When Rocky heard the discussions around him, his eyes narrowed slightly. He had also heard the
name Lilith. If he recalled correctly, Eunice had once told him that there was a peerless genius in the
Sky-suppressing School called Lilith. Judging by the girl's demeanor, chances were that she was Lilith
only. It looked like he was lucky. He had not only met the famous Lilith, but also made a bet with her
which would yield him a reward that countless spirit warriors would die for.
When Rocky returned to the disciple dormitory, he saw Eunice coming out.
"Where have you been? I was looking for you," Eunice asked unhappily.
"Oh, Koko suddenly ran away. I went out to look for it," Rocky said, pointing at Kohen who was resting
on his shoulder.
"Koko? Is that... a spiritual beast?" When Eunice saw that Rocky suddenly had a spiritual beast who
was acting like a pet, her eyes widened in shock. However, she did not ask too many questions.
Instead, upon seeing Kohen's cute appearance, she simply took it from Rocky's shoulder into her arms,
then stroked it softly.
Kohen was usually wary of strangers. However, it did not seem afraid of a beautiful girl like Eunice.
Instead, it seemed to be enjoying her affections and put two paws on her body. Eunice didn't mind that
at all.
