"I told you that I'm from the countryside. I just lived in a small village since I was a child, and I've never

been to any big city until now. That's why I'm not really familiar with how rules and systems are being

implemented in this kind of place." Rocky immediately found a plausible excuse so that Tessa would

ease her suspicion.

"Well, no wonder." After hearing what Rocky had said, Tessa eventually believed him.

"Um, is Tessa your name?" Rocky asked. He had already heard people mention her name, but he just

wanted to directly hear it from her.

"Yes, that's right. Feel free to just call me by my name. I actually don't like it when others call me Miss

Tessa or address me in a very respectful way. It just feels awkward and unnatural," Tessa remarked.

"All right then. Please don't mind if I called you Tessa from now on." The truth was that Rocky was

trying to suck up to her on purpose. With his past experiences, he knew that as long as he had good

relations with the daughter of the city governor, it would definitely be much easier for him to move freely

and take action within the Sword Spirit City.

"Hey! How dare you address Miss Tessa so casually?!" The disciples of the Sword Spirit City behind

them who heard Rocky were extremely displeased.

"It's okay. I am the one who permits him. After all, he is the only one who managed to save

Nightshade's life. We are friends now," Tessa declared without hesitation.

"Really? I'm honored, Miss... I mean Tessa." Rocky let out a satisfied smile.

Seeing this, the disciples guarding Tessa felt envious and hateful towards Rocky. After all, she was one

of the most beautiful women in the entire Sword Spirit City—second only to the sect leader's daughter,

Hannah Qiu. Countless men were infatuated by her because of her mesmerizing looks and her

astounding power as a spirit warrior. Since Rocky could be called her friend and be close to such an

amazing person, it would be natural for others to be jealous of him. However, since he did a splendid

job of saving Nightshade's life, they couldn't blame the guy for instantly gaining Tessa's trust.

Not long after, they had finally arrived in front of a rather strange building. Half of the structure was an

open-air yard, which easily covered an area of about hundreds of square meters. The yard was so

pleasant to behold as it was covered with flowers and trees all over, making it a huge luscious garden.

On the other hand, the other half was decorated with upturned eaves, colorful sculptures, and red

railings, which made the entire building look like an eccentric palace. The two parts didn't seem to

complement each other, but overall, it was a uniquely-structured building.

"So, this should be the place where you usually keep Nightshade. Am I right?" Rocky asked as he

observed the place for a while.

"That's right. I guess you're really a lot smarter than you look," Tessa said as she let out a faint smile.

Then, she turned and addressed the disciples accompanying them, "You may leave us now."

"But Miss Tessa, Captain Ramon specifically asked us to guard you all the time until he comes back.

I'm afraid we can't just leave you with this guy alone," one of the disciples responded immediately.

"What are you worrying about? He's just an ordinary beast curer. Do you think that he can do anything

to harm me? Even if all of you join hands to fight me, I don't think you can do anything. So, what's the

problem?" Tessa asked with a straight face.

Hearing this, none of the disciples could answer. They glanced at each other in embarrassment and

didn't know what to say. However, they knew that Ramon would be furious if they disobeyed his

command.

"Tessa, they are just doing their jobs and are worried about your safety. Just let them guard outside.

Besides, I will just only stay in this yard," Rocky insisted.

"Fine." After being convinced by Rocky, Tessa ordered the disciples, "Go on. All of you can wait

outside."

The disciples were still a bit hesitant but they eventually followed and waited outside of the yard.

"You can release Nightshade now," Rocky said as soon as they were already alone in the yard.

Then, Tessa immediately took out the Beast Spirit Jade and released the weakened spiritual beast,

which landed in the corner of the yard.

Rocky approached the beast and checked its condition. Although the wound was properly treated, it

was still in a very weak state because of losing too much blood.

"Will it be fine? It looks very feeble..." Tessa asked in a worried tone as she couldn't help but notice

Nightshade's current condition.

"It's hard to say right now because it is hurt badly. Anyway, I will try my best to save it. May I just ask

how it acquired these injuries? It seems like a very powerful spiritual beast, so I was wondering how it

ended up like this," Rocky said with furrowed brows as he stared at the spiritual beast.

"It's actually my fault. I insisted on going to the Ghost Valley. Unfortunately, when we arrived there, we

encountered a spiritual beast at the King Realm. Nightshade risked its life to protect me and take me

out of there with all its might. However, it was severely injured during our escape. If it weren't for its

bravery and loyalty, I would have died already," Tessa answered, biting her lip as she reminisced the

tragic event.

"The King Realm? So, beasts at that realm are powerful enough to cause this?" Rocky couldn't help

but ask as he speculated that the strength of a beast at the King Realm was most likely on the same

level as that of the members of the Star Divine Race.

"Yes, certainly. After all, one could only break through to the King Realm after reaching the seventh

grade of the Spirit Realm. Anyone who wants to aim to be the strongest spirit warrior should reach the

King Realm first," Tessa explained as she clenched her fist.

"Then, which realm are you at?" Rocky asked, wanting to somehow gauge her strength.

"I'm now at the seventh grade of the Spirit Realm, and yes, I'm trying my best to reach the King Realm

one day. But judging by my own strength, there's still a long way to go before I achieve it," Tessa

answered with a bitter smile.

"Still, you're very powerful! You only need one more level to attain the King Realm," Rocky exclaimed,

pretending to be overly fascinated.

"Well, yeah. I guess I'm not so bad compared to my peers," Tessa just said modestly. There was no

hint of bragging in her voice.

"You should give yourself more credit. I think you're very remarkable to possess that kind of strength

given your young age." Truth be told, Rocky perceived that among the human beings in the alien land,

Tessa was indeed an exceptional talent.

"Fine. I must say you're such a smooth talker." Hearing how Rocky praised her, Tessa let out a faint

smile that wiped out her worried expression.

"I'm just telling the truth. Even the disciples in this city must also think the same," Rocky reasoned.

However, in order to not arouse Tessa's suspicion, Rocky deemed it necessary not to ask for further

information about the alien land. For now, he needed to focus on completely saving Nightshade's life,

so that he could fully gain Tessa's trust and favor. After that, he could have more chances of acquiring

a firm foothold in the Sword Spirit City.

Not long after, Ramon, who was carrying two big bathtubs, landed into the Fragrance Pavilion where

Rocky and Tessa were waiting for him.

As they saw him arrive with the huge fixtures, many disciples within the city rushed towards the gate of

the pavilion, curious to see what was going on.

"Miss Tessa, are these bathtubs really suitable for the next operation?" Ramon asked as he put down

the fixtures.

Tessa didn't utter a word but just immediately gave Rocky an inquiring gaze.

"Yes, they will do just well," Rocky said with confidence.

"Ramon, have you brought the mother of Nightshade just as I asked?" Tessa said flatly.

"Yes. But are we really going to proceed with this without waiting for the governor and the others to

come back?" Ramon looked very reluctant. After all, Nightshade's mother was a very powerful spiritual

beast that had already reached the King Realm. Moreover, it had a pretty bad temper and was easily

irritated. If it went on a rampage, he was afraid that they might not be able to quickly subdue it.

"I don't have the time to wait for them. I don't even know when they will come back. Can't you see

Nightshade's condition? We have to do something about it as soon as possible!" Tessa reiterated.

"But Miss Tessa, even you know how powerful it is. If we let it out and it goes out of control, it will cause

such devastating trouble," Ramon argued as he considered the safety of the city.

"Well, we won't know if you don't release it first," Tessa said sternly. She had no intention of taking no

for an answer.

Realizing that Tessa wouldn't back down, Ramon had no choice but to unleash the spiritual beast.

Then, he took out the Beast Spirit Jade and threw it in midair. A moment later, a dragon beast, which

was even bigger than Nightshade, flew out and landed on the ground, shaking the entire area. Its

intense spiritual aura swiftly spread out and shocked the whole place. Even Rocky was stunned at what

he witnessed. If the dragon beast existed in the Wild Spirit Land, it should be way more powerful than

the strongest spiritual master. That was when he recognized what it really meant to have a strength

that was at the level of the King Realm

'It seems that the strength of the King Realm in this world should be at the same level as that of the

Star Divine Race or even stronger. It means that the most powerful creatures in this world are more

superior to the members of the Star Divine Race…' Rocky thought to himself.

Originally, Rocky's strength had already surpassed the King Realm. However, after battling with Alston,

he had consumed all of his strength, thus making him become an ordinary man. Later on, in order to

save the Wild Spirit Land again from its demise, he inherited part of the divine power of the Holy Lord,

which was also stronger than that of the King Realm. But the moment he arrived at the alien land, the

divine power that he acquired also disappeared. Hence, he had to hide his real identity so that he

wouldn't be found out.

"The Heavenly Diabolic Dragon is Nightshade's mother. It is a rare type of spiritual beast that is in the

King Realm. It's actually very hard for a spiritual beast to reach the King Realm, so it is considered as

one of the most precious spiritual beasts in the entire Ethereal Region," Tessa explained to Rocky as

she gazed at the dragon beast without losing focus.
