The Medallion Chapter 1685 The Upcoming Engagement Ceremony

Valeria was more beautiful than the other women in the Flower Fief and she came from a strong

background. Therefore, she was picky about the men she associated with. When she first met Rocky,

she had sensed that he was a little different from ordinary men. But unfortunately, the conversation

between Gilbert and Rocky had alerted her to the fact that Rocky was not willing to get engaged to her.

He only agreed to do so because he was the Godly Genius. No wonder Gilbert was desperate to get

them engaged because he wanted to make sure that Rocky would get engaged to Valeria, despite that

he did not want to, so that the two fiefs would become allies.

"If he doesn't want to be engaged to me, that's cool! I hate this arrangement more than he does

anyway! I'm like a diamond. He will never be good enough to deserve someone like me!" Wearing a

proud look on her face, Valeria puffed out her chest. She firmly believed that she was suffering a loss

because of their engagement. If it were not for the benefits that the Flower Fief and Flora were getting

from it, she would have declined a long time ago.

"Whether you want it or not, the engagement is set. Don't be childish. For the next three days, you will

stay put in the Fragrance Palace!" Elder Leticia was worried that Valeria might do something to mess

with the engagement, so she grounded her.

Unable to resist, Valeria nodded. However, when she turned away, her lips curled unhappily.

By now, the news of the upcoming engagement between Rocky and Valeria had spread throughout the

entire Shura Race, causing quite a stir in the other seven fiefs.

Although Godly Genius marriages that formed alliances between two fiefs were common, the one

between the Ghost Fief and the Flower Fief made the other seven fiefs worried. Already, the strength of

the Ghost Fief and the Flower Fief alone was not weak. Their combined strength would be

unimaginable. In addition, the leaders of the two fiefs had close relationships with the royal family. After

the two fiefs were connected by marriage, they would receive secret support from the royal family. The

other seven fiefs felt threatened and panicked.

They couldn't shake the thought from their heads. If the two Godly Geniuses were a good match and

managed to cultivate together, they could gang up on the other seven Godly Geniuses and make fights

unfair.

Therefore, the other seven fiefs slowly became more worried. The problem was that they couldn't act

against the engagement ceremony in front of everyone. They had to find a way to secretly obtain

information.

So they sent their representatives to the Ghost Capital to participate in the engagement ceremony,

mainly to know exactly what was going on.

Meanwhile, in the borders of the Genie Fief, a giant bird covered in white feathers flapped its wings and

rose into the air, flying away from the main city.

Two young women were sitting comfortably on top of the giant bird. One was wearing tight, purple

armor. She was heroic and tall. A unique, wild vibe that belonged solely to the women of the Shura

Race shone from her radiant skin.

The other woman was dressed in an embroidered, red robe. Her complexion resembled a human's but

her features were not as delicate. They were more charming and enchanting. Every move and smile

she made was full of bewitchment. Most people couldn't look straight at her because of her powerful

aura from the noble class.

"Lady, if the leader knew that we went to the Ghost Capital without asking his permission first, I'm

afraid..." The woman in purple armor worried aloud.

The woman in the red robe was the new Godly Genius of the Genie Fief. She was also the daughter of

the leader of the Genie Fief, Adrian Hu. Her name was Gloria Hu.

"I am just going to the Ghost Capital for travel purposes. There's nothing to be afraid of!" Betraying

Gloria Hu's words, a playful smile flashed on her face, making her eyes bright.

"But we should at least inform him. You know that it's not appropriate for you to go. Your identity..." The

woman in the purple armor spoke very cautiously, tiptoeing around her point.

"Purple, if you're so scared, you are free to turn around and go home. But I will not wait for you." Gloria

Hu smiled. She was excited to do something reckless.

When Purple heard that, a look of hesitation spread over her face. She knew that her master was a

woman of her word, so there was nothing she could say that would convince her to stop.

"Good girl! When we arrive at the Ghost Capital, I will reward you handsomely." While she spoke,

Gloria Hu approached Purple and raised the latter's chin with one finger, forcing her to look straight into

her eyes.

Purple's face flushed. She swallowed and stammered, "But I haven't done anything. I don't require a

reward."

Even though Purple was a female, it was difficult for her to resist Gloria Hu's strange charm. That was

because Gloria Hu had been cultivating the enchantment skill since her childhood. By now, she had it

mastered and could wrap just about anybody around her finger.

"Just obeying my words counts as making a contribution," Gloria Hu said, smiling. Just the sight of her

smile was enough to make people fall in love with her.

Purple nodded many times while avoiding eye contact with Gloria Hu. She didn't want to be tempted by

the latter's enchantment skill and do something inappropriate.

Three days later, colorful lanterns were strung all over the Ghost Capital and the atmosphere was

lively.

When they heard that Rocky had saved the people living in the slum, the citizens of the Ghost Capital

had started to worship him. They were all excited to celebrate his engagement.

Gilbert's mansion was also decorated with red lanterns and countless people came and went,

spreading their good wishes.

Ever since the announcement of the engagement between Rocky and Valeria, Gilbert's mansion had

been full of people. All the famous clans in the Shura Race had sent people with gifts, whether they

were invited or not. And, of course, the other seven fiefs came to congratulate them too.

Meanwhile, Gilbert was busy entertaining the representatives of the seven fiefs. They were all sitting in

the hall and the atmosphere was very light and friendly.

"Leader Gilbert, the alliance you've established between the Ghost Fief and the Flower Fief is really

powerful! Congratulations!" the representative elder of the Nether Fief said. His tone held some

jealousy.

"Oh, come on. There's no need for flattery. As a matter of fact, this engagement is only happening

because of a promise I made to Flora ten years ago. It is not to gain an advantage over the other fiefs.

It's just an agreement between me and Flora." Gilbert had come up with that excuse a long time ago,

just in case he needed to use it.

"Even so, after the marriage is complete, your power will increase. I hope you will show us mercy,"

another representative of another fief said.

"Guys, there's really no reason to worry. After all, we can't interfere in the competition among the Godly

Geniuses. Do you think there's anything we can do to help the Godly Geniuses complete the task they

were given by the gods this time? I really doubt it." Gilbert would not brag. If he were to strut around,

the seven fiefs would target him.

"Yes, but it's obvious that you and Flora are going to benefit from this marriage."

"Then the other fiefs should form alliances too. If I remember correctly, there are other females among

the Godly Geniuses apart from Valeria. Why don't you meet with them?" As soon as Gilbert said that,

the representatives of the seven fiefs fell into silence.
