The Medallion Chapter 1552 Being Assigned To Different Team

Upon hearing Eunice's bold request, Tucker did not know whether to cry or to laugh. The war was not a

game meant for children. The deputy commander was assigned to lead an army of three thousand

soldiers, which meant whoever was appointed would be responsible for three thousand lives, which

was a serious matter. Now that Eunice was demanding to be the deputy commander, it would be out of

his control.

Besides, according to the rules, one commander could have only three deputy commanders under his

command. All three of the positions were currently filled. If Eunice wanted to be one, then one of the

three existing deputy commanders would have to be dismissed.

Except for Bertram, the other two deputy commanders wore a gloomy face. They looked at Tucker,

hoping that the commander wouldn't agree to Eunice's rude request. Even though she was a powerful

spirit warrior at the King Realm from the Sky-suppressing School, that wouldn’t secure her success in

war. Being talented and leading an army weren't related. On the contrary, the two deputy commanders

had endured through several hundreds of cruel battles and wars for over a decade. Both of them

possessed richer experience in terms of leading an army towards battle than a young woman.

"Eunice, stop fooling around. You don’t have any experience leading troops to battle. Being a deputy

commander means shouldering heavy responsibilities..." Rocky immediately intervened

"Haha! Eunice, you're quite straightforward. It’s not impossible for you to be a deputy commander. But

according to military regulations, if one wants to be a deputy commander, he or she must earn at least

three third-class merits and two second-class merits. As long as you accomplish that, I will immediately

promote you to the position," said Tucker. He was a sly fox that knew how to deal with tricky situations.

"It's a deal then, Commander Wang. You promised me this so don’t go back on your word later!" Eunice

said confidently with a naughty blink.

"Of course I'll keep my word," Tucker replied with a nod. Then he continued, "How about this? You two

can lead the spirit warriors under Deputy Commander Ma and Deputy Commander Lin." Then he

turned to the two deputy commanders beside him.

"Eunice, you can join my army," Deputy Commander Lin said. He knew that if a beautiful warrior like

Eunice joined his army, it would greatly boost the morale of his troops.

"Why should you join his army? Eunice, I think you would be more suited to join my ranks. After all, I

am leading the spearhead. I’m sure that you're eager to charge towards the enemy, seeing as to how

you're the heroine and all," Deputy Commander Ma said firmly. He would never allow Deputy

Commander Lin to take this opportunity from him.

"Is your army the spearhead? If so, then I think it does suit me better. I'll join you and your troops,"

Eunice said. She liked what Deputy Commander Ma told her and made her choice immediately.

Deputy Commander Lin's expression darkened, but he knew there was nothing he could do to change

her mind.

"Then I'll head over to your army, Deputy Commander Lin. I’m looking forward to it!" Rocky exclaimed

as he clasped his hands in front of him out of respect.

Deputy Commander Lin merely replied with a wry smile.

Elliot didn't want to suffer for nothing so he quickly stood up and asked aloud, "Uncle, you must punish

him for what he did to me! He beat me up!" He shot Rocky a venomous glare.

"Basil, is what he said true? Or is there a misunderstanding?" Tucker frowned and asked Rocky after a

moment’s hesitation.

"Yes, I did hurt him," Rocky answered immediately.

"Is there any reason for you doing this?" Tucker probed further. In fact, he didn't expect Rocky to

answer the question so directly as if he wasn't afraid that the commander would avenge his nephew on

the pretext of public interests. He was quite surprised.

"He's your nephew so I’m sure you're aware of what kind of person he is. All I can say is that if it

happens again, I'd do the same thing all over again," Rocky replied arrogantly.

Tucker was momentarily stunned by Rocky’s words. He immediately realized that Elliot must've

offended Rocky tremendously, otherwise the latter wouldn't have made his statement. He gave Elliot a

stern glare before he commanded, "Elliot, what are you waiting for? Apologize to him!"

"He hurt me. Why should I apologize? This is unfair!" Elliot complained, shocked and exasperated.

"Apologize to him now or I will punish you in accordance with military law," Tucker ordered. He was

more worried about Elliot offending Rocky even further if he wouldn't apologize now. If Rocky was a

narrow-minded man, he feared that Elliot would suffer serious consequences in the future.

"Fine... It's all my fault! I'm sorry," Elliot said through gritted teeth. He wasn't afraid of anything or

anyone, but the one exception to that was his uncle. Realizing he was left with no other options, he had

to apologize, though reluctantly.

Rocky nodded slightly and said nothing more.

Once he confirmed that Rocky wouldn't stir up any more trouble, Tucker immediately ordered, "Then

please follow the two deputy commanders and get to know each other!"

"Eunice, let's go," Deputy Commander Ma said as he walked in front of Eunice with a huge smile. He

stretched out his hand and gestured her to leave with him, a look of pride plastered on his face.

Eunice cast a glance at Rocky before she left with Deputy Commander Ma.

"We're leaving, too," Deputy Commander Lin informed Rocky coldly as he left the tent without even

waiting for the latter to respond.

Rocky followed suit and left immediately as well.

"You may leave now, Elliot. Don't start any trouble again. You're lucky this time since Basil chose not to

make things difficult for you. If he had chosen not to show you any mercy, you would've lost more than

one hand!" Tucker shouted at Elliot in anger once they left.

"Yes, I understand." Although he agreed, Elliot thought to himself, 'I'll show Basil how powerful I truly

am. What's so great about being a King Realm spirit warrior? I don't believe that I can't defeat him.'

Then he left the camp, leaving Tucker and Bertram alone.

"Bertram, what do you think of the two King Realm warriors?” Tucker asked. Among the three deputy

commanders, Bertram was his confidante. In private, they behaved casually with each other and

shared various ideas and opinions freely.

"Do you want me to tell you how I really feel?" Bertram asked.

"Of course. Go ahead, please," Tucker said with a serious look.

"From my point of view, both have their distinctions and they seem easy enough to deal with. But if we

provoke them, then we'll most likely pay a terrible price. Elliot is an example of that." Bertram

expressed his opinion.

"Yes, I feel the same way too. I felt it even more strongly when I faced Basil. Once he mentioned Elliot,

his eyes appeared to turn cold and, for a moment, he looked more like a monster than human," Tucker

said. He seemed to have noticed something different about Rocky.

"Anyway, we'd better not offend them. We'll do our best to meet all their requirements. We need as

many people on our side as possible for the battle. With their help, I'm sure it'll be to our advantage!

The most important piece of information we currently have is that Grand Commander Raiden Chen just

died during the war. That means his position is vacant and all the commanders are now fighting for it

with all their might. We’ve been informed that within the next month, the commander who would

contribute the most will be qualified for the position. This is an opportunity I don’t want to miss!" Tucker

revealed his intention.

The human army's commanders were ranked, from top to bottom, into army-leading commander, grand

commander, commander, and deputy commander. One commander could lead three deputy

commanders and ten thousand soldiers. Next, one grand commander could lead three commanders

and thirty thousand soldiers. Lastly, one army-leading commander could lead three grand commanders

and one hundred thousand soldiers.

Generally speaking, a commander in chief would have at least two or more army-leading commanders

and six grand commanders.
