Sensing that the situation was about to take a turn for the worst, Rocky took out a fake divine treasure

to try and defend himself. But the relentless attack of the sand spurting out the ground made quick

work of it, making the treasure's spiritual power drain.

"It seems that we are facing the legendary ghostly demon! So awesome!" Even though he was faced

with a powerful opponent, Rocky couldn't help but let out a playful grin. He was caught blindsided by

the sudden turn of events. Even with the God-killing Sword and a plethora of divine treasures at his

disposal, he still found it hard to get rid of his opponent.

But no matter how amazed he was, he was well aware that one wrong step could spell his doom. He

once again activated more divine treasures to block an incoming corrosive yellow sand.

As the black insect-nest-shaped object continued spurting yellow sand, the yellow sand constantly

sprouted out the ground like an endless geyser. Before they knew it, the whole area was already knee-

deep with sand.

With each second, Rocky's and Valeria's spiritual power dwindled as they fought against the corrosive

sand storm.

Out of nowhere, a tentacle suddenly emerged from the ground and wrapped itself around Valeria's

ankle, instantly pulling her into a dark pit.

"Ouch!" Valeria let out a scream.

Fortunately, Rocky was agile enough to react almost instantly. He immediately grabbed her hand to

prevent her from being pulled away further before quickly chopping off the tentacle with his sword.

"Be careful..." Rocky said gently as he pulled her up.

Valeria's heart skipped a beat and her face flushed red instantly. She quickly calmed herself down

before asking Rocky, "What should we do now? It doesn't seem like the sands will stop coming out

soon."

At that moment, the yellow sand was now near their waist, making it almost impossible to take a single

step.

"If this continues, I'm afraid we'll be buried alive!" Rocky said with a serious face.

"Then what should we do?" Valeria asked again as her face turned pale white.

"This guy must be hiding underground. If he is, then that means that his eyes can't adjust to any light.

Maybe we can use this for our advantage," Rocky talked aloud as he tried to look for any clue in the

surroundings that might lead him to his opponent.

At this moment, he saw that the yellow sand was being sucked into the crater, exposing the ground

beneath.

Rocky thought that since the sand was being pulled back underground, it must've been empty. So as

long as he could find the monster hiding underground, he was sure to locate his opponent.

After observing for a while, Rocky now had a rough idea of where to look for. Without any warnings, he

activated the sword in his hand, and it immediately soared high into the sky as it expanded in size. It

then quickly came crashing down, aiming at the exposed piece of ground near the crater.

Boom!

The earth shook violently due to the force of the impact.

The impact left a gaping crater at its wake, exposing the now pierced nest. Because of the sand

surrounding the hole, it quickly funneled through it, making the nearby area sink.

Knowing this might happen, Rocky immediately held Valeria in his arms and rushed to the edge of the

area as the ground beneath them collapsed before making it to safety. As the dust settled, they saw a

ghostly demon—a Ghostly Worm—riddled with insect holes standing in the middle of the crater. Its

ghastly appearance made their hair stand on end.

Seeing its den was destroyed by Rocky, it let out a furious scream.

The Ghostly Worm's body started shaking violently as a swarm of insects flew out from the holes on its

body. The insects converged high into the sky, blocking out the sun so that the Ghostly Worm wouldn't

be exposed to the light.

It immediately regained its composure as soon as the light was blocked out. It paused for a second

before its menacing red eye suddenly opened, sending chills down the spines of Rocky and Valeria.

"Let's leave this place!" Seeing that the Ghostly Worm wasn't someone to be trifled with, it didn't take

any second-guessing before Rocky took Valeria's hand and ran the other way.

But before they had the chance to get away, the insects immediately chased after them.

The insects grew closer and closer with every step they took and quickly caught up to them even

though they were both running at full speed.

Out of fear and desperation, something suddenly popped up in Valeria's head, and she quickly took out

the Holy Spirit Cup.

The ghostly insects instantly felt the cup's presence and hesitated to go closer.

A moment later, the swarm suddenly turned back, and Rocky and Valeria were finally safe.

The two stopped on their tracks and tried to catch their racing breath. They never anticipated that the

Ghostly Demon Land would be filled with such strange and terrible dangers.

"This place is so creepy. Are you all right?" Rocky asked with much concern. He finally had a rough

idea of how dangerous this place truly was. Since the two of them had been separated from Layla's

team, Rocky couldn't help but worry about Valeria since she was only a high-grade Spiritual Emperor.

Even someone at the Shura Realm would have a hard time staying in the Ghostly Demon Land, let

alone a high-grade Spiritual Emperor, who was far weaker.

"I'm fine." A warm feeling grew inside Valeria's heart after she felt Rocky's concern for her. She felt

lucky that she ended up with him. If she was with a different warrior, she would be surely dead by now.

"It looked actually quite safe when we first came here. Who would've thought that the Ghostly Demon

Land would be filled with deadly traps? We have no idea what'll happen next!" Rocky suddenly blurted

out as his face turned serious.

"Do you want me to go back?" Valeria immediately knew what Rocky was trying to say.

"If you can," Rocky replied with a slight nod. He only had her safety in mind.

"You fool! How can I go back now? You should stop worrying about me. I'm not a damsel in distress. I

don't need your protection!" Valeria insisted.

"Fine, but I think the best course of action right now is to find Princess Layla and her team as soon as

possible." Rocky knew that their only hope of surviving on such a treacherous land was to find their

team, but they had no idea where to look for them!
