The Medallion Chapter 1429 I Fulfilled The Task

It turned out that the woman in white didn't expect that Rocky's Frozen Wind Dagger could actually

resist her Cyan Specter Whip. Thus, she waved her whip again and attacked him continuously to

overwhelm him.

At the same time, Rocky controlled the Frozen Wind Dagger and tried his best to resist her barrage of

attacks. Of course, he was just deliberately pretending to have difficulty in dealing with her. After all, he

couldn't let Hannah see through his real strength.

"It's all right. You don't need to push yourself too hard! Run away by yourself when you can!" Hannah

shouted as she saw that Rocky seemed to be struggling to resist the opponent.

"What are you saying? I won't leave you. I will protect you with all my might. Just hang tight!" Rocky

bravely declared.

"You..." Hannah was actually moved upon hearing that. She didn't expect that Rocky would go to that

length just to save her.

"Ha! Such brave words. Let's see how much you can still hold on, brat!" the woman in white roared in

anger.

"Take this! Cyan Specter Whip!"

Suddenly, her Cyan Specter Whip flashed with a demonic light, and the power it contained instantly

increased by several times. Then, she quickly lashed the whip and aimed it at Rocky.

Seeing that, Rocky immediately brandished the Frozen Wind Dagger to guard the attack. The impact

almost made him step backward and also created a small crack on the dagger. As his weapon

weakened, the Cyan Specter Whip prevailed and hit his body.

However, Rocky wasn't fazed. Instead, he stood firmly in front of Hannah even after receiving a direct

hit.

Annoyed at his persistence, the woman began to wave the whip even faster. She scourged Rocky

mercilessly, but he didn't budge. After a moment, his whole body was covered with terrible cuts and

bruises.

Hannah couldn't help but gasp in shock. She couldn't take it that Rocky willingly sacrificed himself just

to keep her safe.

"Damn it! You're a tough nut to crack!" The woman didn't expect that Rocky would be able to endure all

her strikes. She saw the determination in his eyes, saying that he would rather die than submit. In

exasperation, her body trembled as she was consumed by the thought of killing him. Even though it

was against the rule of the Robber Regiment, she intended to act on her bloodlust.

But in the blink of an eye, when the woman lost her focus for a second, Rocky, who was supposed to

be unable to move vigorously anymore, suddenly rushed forth. The woman was caught off guard, but

her fast reflexes enabled her to take action. However, before she could use the Cyan Specter Whip

again, Rocky had successfully made his way in front of the woman.

At that moment, the woman clearly saw a wicked smile appear on his face as if he was totally a

different person. Before she could even react, she felt that Rocky instantly emitted a spiritual aura that

far surpassed hers, suppressing her for a brief moment. Immediately after, he drilled his finger into her

shoulder.

The woman wasn't able to resist and felt a piercing sensation on her right shoulder. The pain inflicted

on her was so tremendous that she had almost dropped the whip in her hand.

"What the hell..." The woman was flabbergasted that Rocky managed to hurt her even after taking all of

her previous attacks. Moreover, she clearly felt just now that Rocky's strength rose to the point that

obviously exceeded hers.

As she felt rather humiliated by that, she flew into a rage and quickly slapped Rocky using her left

palm. Recognizing that, Rocky took advantage of the opportunity and pretended that he was sent flying

backward.

The woman got rather confused because she knew that her palm failed to reach Rocky.

Then, Rocky landed beside Hannah and stayed on the ground on one knee. As he acted like he was

catching his breath, he smiled bitterly towards her and said, "Miss Hannah, I've tried my best."

"I know. You did a good job!" Seeing how Rocky tried his hardest to defeat the enemy for her sake,

Hannah began to have a different opinion of him.

When the woman in white saw that Rocky had been suffering from the injuries that he sustained earlier,

she tried to endure the injury on her right shoulder and planned to take Hannah down while she could.

However, before she could make a move, another shadow suddenly flew over.

The woman immediately felt that the sword aura that the figure emanated was rather intimidating. Her

face almost turned ghastly pale, realizing that she wouldn't be able to beat the new opponent in her

current state. Thus, she quickly fled and disappeared into the forest.

"Miss Hannah! Are you hurt?" At the moment, the figure suddenly called out and emerged before them.

Apparently, it was Ramon.

"No, I'm fine. It's all thanks to Basil. He risked his life to protect me all this time," Hannah replied as she

looked at Rocky, who was still having a hard time standing.

Hearing that, Ramon narrowed his eyes, feeling confused and surprised at the same time.

"Captain Ramon, I fulfilled the task that you gave me. I didn't let you down!" Rocky exclaimed as he

pretended to be relieved.

"Task?" Ramon quickly furrowed his brows, wondering what Rocky was talking about.

"What else? The task to protect Miss Hannah! Well, I got injured in the process, but I still kept her from

getting hurt," Rocky replied as he winked at Ramon.

"When did I ask—" Obviously, Ramon didn't understand what was going on, so he wanted to clear

everything up. However, before he could continue asking, Hannah interrupted,

"Ramon, thank you!" She looked at Ramon with such grateful eyes.

"But Miss Hannah, I..." Ramon didn't know what to say. He clearly didn't remember assigning such a

task, so he could only assume that Rocky was making things up.

"Captain Ramon, I'm actually pretty banged up. Can you help me get up?" Seeing that Ramon was still

in a daze, Rocky quickly butted in and changed the topic.

Ramon looked at Hannah first before turning to Rocky. Then, he finally helped Rocky get up on his feet.

"I've put in a good word and actually helped you leave a good impression on Hannah. So, I guess we

should be good friends from now on. Don't let me down," Rocky whispered to Ramon's ear after he

managed to stand.

When Ramon heard that, his eyes widened. He was taken aback that Rocky made such a daring

decision and acted on his own. But because they were still in Hannah's presence, he didn't say a word

and planned on settling the matter after they successfully got back.

Then, when Rocky, Ramon, and Hannah returned to the place where their wagons had been

ambushed, it seemed that the Robber Regiment had already retreated, and they just left the corpses of

their dead comrades. At that moment, aside from the guard team, the reinforcements that were brought

by Ramon were also there.

Fearing that the Robber Regiment might send more powerful members to launch an attack again,

Ramon quickly led the guard team and the reinforcements back to the Sword Spirit City as soon as

possible.

After returning to the Sword Spirit Sect, Ramon asked two of the disciples from the guard team to tend

on Rocky's wounds. At the same time, he and Hannah went straight to the Arcane Sword Hall to meet

with the governor of the city, Harrison, who also happened to be Tessa's father.

"Hannah, why did you put yourself in such a dangerous situation?" Harrison seemed to have known

every aspect of Hannah's plan, and apparently, he was pretty dissatisfied with it. After all, she was the

daughter of the Sword Spirit Sect's leader, and her safety was a big deal. If anything bad happened to

her, he would feel very responsible for it, and he might not be able to face her father.

"I had to. I needed to take the risk in order to bring the ethereal crystals back. Moreover, we were able

to confirm the collusion between the Grand Sky Sect and the Robber Regiment. So, overall, it yielded a

good result," Hannah responded calmly. She was actually a little scared before they began the mission,

but she was resolute enough to firmly go through it. Besides, everything was put under control, and

Rocky did his best to protect her from any danger.

"Are you sure that it's the Grand Sky Sect's doing?" Harrison asked with a serious expression on his

face. He clenched his fist and wasn't able to suppress his emotion as he released an intimidating aura.

Both the Grand Sky Sect and the Sword Spirit Sect were important members of the Sovereign Sect.

Moreover, they had been treating each other with great respect and it was a bit hard to accept that the

Grand Sky Sect would do such a horrible thing. They not only colluded with the Robber Regiment but

also dared to attack the members of the Sword Spirit Sect.

"Yes. It was actually thanks to Basil that I have fully confirmed this. With his quick thinking, he

pretended to be a spy of the Grand Sky Sect and probed the enemy's reaction so that I can make sure

of it," Hannah answered, deliberately mentioning Rocky's name to give credit for what he had done.

"Basil?" Harrison furrowed his brows slightly as he heard the name. He thought for a while and felt that

the name was quite familiar.

"Yes. He is the only beast curer who managed to help Tessa cure Nightshade," Hannah

elaborated.
