The Medallion Chapter 1589 Go All Out

Everyone relished the serene and soothingly calm night in the Tiger Whisker Pass since it came only

once in a blue moon. But the relaxing moment was suddenly interrupted by a series of deafening roars

that came out of nowhere.

"Commander Wang, we have some bad news!" Deputy Commander Ma came rushing into Tucker's

camp with a frightened look on his face.

"What happened?" Startled, Tucker, who had been almost sleepless the whole night, immediately got

up from his seat.

"The spiritual race has sent out more than ten Human-shaped Giant Beasts to attack the city!" Deputy

Commander Ma reported in a hurry.

"What?" Tucker's eyes rounded in shock. He wasted no time and rushed towards the city wall along

with the deputy commander.

As soon as they climbed up the city wall, they were greeted with the sight of a dozen strong

mountainous spiritual beasts nearing the edge of the wall. At this point, it was only a matter of minutes

before they would attack the walls of the Tiger Whisker Pass.

These gigantic beasts had always been the spiritual race's trump card when attacking fortified cities. In

their war against the human race, they were almost impossible to defeat. Without the help of enough

brave spirit warriors, the Tiger Whisker Pass would be decimated into ruins in a matter of hours.

"Defend the city! Don't let these giant beasts approach the wall!" Tucker immediately ordered his troops

after assessing the situation.

The archers shot a volley of fire arrows.

But it wasn't enough to penetrate the thick, armor-like skin of the Human-shaped Giant Beasts.

They could only helplessly watch as the towering creatures grew closer and closer towards the wall. In

a few short moments, the beasts were now only a dozen meters from them.

"Where is Basil?" Feeling hopeless and agitated, Tucker began to look for Rocky. But much to his

surprise, Rocky was nowhere to be seen at such a critical moment.

"I don't know either," Deputy Commander Ma replied with an anxious look on his face.

"Send someone to look for him! Quick!" Tucker shouted in a desperate bid to still try and save the city.

"There's no need." A figure appeared out of the blue and landed on the city wall with numerous

syringes filled with anesthetics in his hands. No matter how huge a spiritual beast was, as long as it

was injected with Rocky's refined anesthetics, it would be rendered unconscious.

The next moment, Rocky flew down from the city wall towards the outside of the pass. Even though he

was attacked from all sides by the soldiers who protected the towering creatures, he still managed to

tranquilize them.

Soon, Rocky's anesthetics were all used up.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

After a few minutes, the beasts fell over one after another, crushing their allies beneath them.

The deputy commander in charge of protecting the Human-shaped Giant Beasts couldn't believe what

he saw. He couldn't fathom what kind of sorcery Rocky did to the towering creatures to defeat them in

such a manner. Helpless and confused, he and the remainder of his troops ran away, leaving the

spiritual beasts.

Seeing this, Tucker was quick to command his men to kill their incapacitated opponents.

"Commander Wang, don't kill them. They could be useful for our cause." Rocky stepped forward and

stopped the commander at once.

"What? How could we possibly use these vile creatures? If we kill them, then we won't have to worry

about facing against them anymore." Tucker, who still feared the power of the gigantic spiritual beasts,

was adamant to kill them off.

"Please trust me, Commander Wang," Rocky pleaded with a slight frown.

"All right." Hearing his insistence, Tucker could only nod in agreement.

Still fearing for their safety, the commander immediately led his troops back into the walled city.

Delighted by Tucker's permission, the young spirit warrior then walked over to the unconscious Human-

shaped Giant Beasts. With only a touch of his hand, the gigantic creatures disappeared into thin air.

Meanwhile, the deputy commander of the spiritual race fled back to the base camp of the Heaven Army

five miles away. He wasted no time and reported what happened to his superiors.

"You incompetent buffoon! You didn't manage to reach the wall of the city, and on top of that, you even

lost every one of our Human-shaped Giant Beasts?" Phelps was boiling mad upon hearing the report.

Out of sheer frustration and anger, he ordered his men to drag the deputy commander out and kill him.

"Grand Commander, we heavily outnumber the enemy. We shouldn't be so hesitant. If we send out all

of our troops, we will surely capture the Tiger Whisker Pass," one of Phelps' most trusted commanders

respectfully suggested.

"I didn't want to lose too many soldiers in a battle to take the Tiger Whisker Pass, but it seems like we

have no other choice. Give the order. The whole army will go out first thing tomorrow. We must

succeed." After hearing what happened to his gigantic spiritual beasts, the grand commander wanted

to ensure their victory as soon as possible.

Since their strength was matched by only a few, an all-out attack would be more than enough to invade

the walled city.

"Yes, sir." Taking the order, the commander immediately left to tell the troops.

The order was equal to Phelps handing out the Tiger Whisker Pass a death sentence.

Needless to say, an army of about fifty thousand troops would win against less than twenty thousand

soldiers.

While the Heaven Army prepared for the assault, Rocky had foreseen that their enemies would no

longer toy with them and end the war. He helped Tucker and the others to come up with a strategy to

win against the enemy.

"What did you say? You want the whole army to retreat from the Tiger Whisker Pass?" Tucker was

shocked by Rocky's suggestion.

"Yes. I'm afraid that if we fight this battle head-on we'll surely lose due to the sheer size of their army."

Rocky confirmed the number of the Heaven Army's troops. Cold sweat dripped from the commander's

forehead upon hearing this, as he knew that it would be almost impossible to win.

"But if we retreat, it would be the same as serving the Tiger Whisker Pass to the enemy on a silver

platter," Tucker asked once again.

"If we let them put their guard down, we might have a chance to know what their real goal is." Since the

start, Rocky suspected that the spiritual race's army had a bigger goal than just to conquer the Tiger

Whisker Pass. Even if they did succeed in doing so, they would quickly crumble without any outside

support. Especially if they were besieged by the human army who just took control of the Celestial Gate

Position. He couldn't understand why the spiritual race's army would risk their lives to venture so far

into the hinterland.

"What if the spiritual race's army continue to move forward and enter the Ethereal Region after taking

the walled city?" That was what worried Tucker the most.

"Don't worry, they won't. They know journeying deeper would be a one-way trip. They are not that

stupid. It's certain that they are plotting a much bigger scheme." Rocky calmly answered without a hint

of doubt.

Hearing his words, the commander hesitated whether to believe him or not.

"Commander Wang, please make a decision as soon as possible. We haven't gotten much time,"

Rocky reminded Tucker.

"Are you sure?" He knew that giving up the city would surely taint his reputation as a commander. He

might even lose his position.

"Of course." The powerful spirit warrior nodded with much conviction.

"Well, it's decided then. Let's retreat from the Tiger Whisker Pass." Tucker knew that since they had

already taken the first step, there was no reason for them not to go on. Besides, he knew what Rocky

said was right. As long as they avoided a direct confrontation with the spiritual race's army, they still

had a chance to win. But if they were to hold their ground and guard the Tiger Whisker Pass, they

would all die for nothing.

What was more, if Rocky hadn't come back in time, he would have been caught off guard by the

enemy's attack.

Following Rocky's suggestion was the only way they could fight for another

day.
