The Medallion Chapter 1620 Deputy Commander

Rocky was promoted to deputy commander. Bertram, Eunice, and Kye hurried to find Rocky to

congratulate him.

"Spiritual King Basil, Congratulations! You've finally been promoted to deputy commander!" Bertram

beamed. In his opinion, Rocky's promotion was well deserved.

"Thank you, Deputy Commander Fei!" Rocky smiled calmly.

"Now that you've become a deputy commander, let's celebrate!" Kye was also very happy.

"I also want to be a deputy commander. Why don't you give the position to me?" Eunice pouted.

"That's fine, I don't mind. As long as Commander Wang agrees, I'll give you the title instead," Rocky

answered simply.

"Humph! You are so mean! You know Commander Wang won't agree," Eunice whined. Despite her

tone, she too felt happy for Rocky.

Meanwhile, just then, Isabel was rushing back to the camp of the spiritual race. With Rocky's help, she

had managed to escape from the Heavenly Rain Valley.

The atmosphere in the camp was gloomy, and the morale was at an all-time low. There were only ten

thousand soldiers left, and worse, Isabel's capture had left them feeling hopeless.

The deputy commander who was in control of the army of ten thousand soldiers was just about to have

them retreat. But just then, Isabel showed up safe and sound.

"Commander Isabel, how did you manage to escape? Didn't you get caught?" the deputy commander

asked with wide, astonished eyes.

The soldiers of the spiritual race in the camp also cheered loudly when they saw their commander had

returned unscathed.

"I just escaped," Isabel replied bluntly.

"Really? That's great!" The deputy commander heaved a sigh of relief. Isabel was highly valued by the

commander in chief. If she really was captured, it would've been really difficult for him to explain the

situation to the commander in chief.

"Lead the army back to the original position at once. I need to see the commander in chief right away,"

Isabel ordered. Then she summoned her three-headed spiritual snake and left quickly.

Two days later, Isabel arrived at the base camp of the spiritual race and asked to see Alyssa, the

commander in chief of the army of the spiritual race.

After receiving the message, Alyssa ordered her men to bring Isabel to her tent.

"Isabel, weren't you ordered to attack the Heavenly Rain Valley? Why are you here?" Alyssa asked

straightforwardly once Isabel arrived.

"We failed, and my troops suffered heavy losses!" Isabel answered honestly, her expression darkening.

"What? How could this be? With your skills in mysterious military arrays, how did you fail?" Alyssa was

taken aback. She had carefully picked Isabel for this mission, specifically because she thought she was

capable of executing it.

"I met a man who is also proficient in the mysterious military arrays, and he's even more skilled than

me," Isabel said with a sigh.

"Such a talent exists within the human race? Unbelievable!" Alyssa shook her head in disbelief.

"There's more to the story. If it weren't for him, I would've been captured by the human army by now,"

Isabel suddenly added.

"Huh? What do you mean by that?" Alyssa was perplexed. It seemed the story was growing more and

more complicated.

"He captured me and then let me go," Isabel replied hesitantly.

"Are you serious? He captured you and then let you go?" Alyssa echoed dubiously. "Who is he?"

"The human army calls him Spiritual King Basil," Isabel answered.

"Spiritual King Basil? Him again?!" Alyssa frowned deeply.

"Do you know about him?" Isabel asked, picking up on Alyssa's tone.

"He is the guy who gave Beverly a hard time before. It is said that he is a beast tamer," Alyssa

explained, her expression darkening.

"A beast tamer? But I didn't see any beasts. Are you sure they're the same person?" Isabel felt strange.

"Why did he let you out after he caught you?" Alyssa asked, narrowing her eyes at Isabel.

"Because I promised him something! That's why he let me go," Isabel replied helplessly.

"What did you promise him?" Alyssa asked sternly.

"He asked me to bring this letter to you." As Isabel spoke, she took out the secret letter that Rocky had

given her. Sure enough, she had kept her promise to him and delivered the letter without reading its

contents.

"A letter? He asked you to bring it to me?" Eyeing the letter in Isabel's hand, Alyssa had a feeling she

might've met this man before.

"Yes." Isabel nodded.

"Is it really him? But how is that possible?" Obviously, Alyssa was dubious. She quickly snatched the

secret letter from Isabel's hand and opened it. As she read its contents, her hands began to shake and

she felt her eyes well up with tears.

"Commander in Chief Mu, what's wrong?" Seeing Alyssa so troubled, Isabel was taken aback. She

never thought Alyssa could be so vulnerable. The letter must've carried a lot of weight.

Alyssa didn't seem to hear Isabel. Fixated on the letter in her hands, her mind raced. Never in her

wildest dreams would she have imagined Rocky would come to this world to save them.

It was not until Isabel called her name several times that Alyssa finally came back to her senses.

"Isabel, you must keep this a secret. Do you understand?" Alyssa said to Isabel seriously.

"What's your relationship with him, Commander in Chief Mu?" Isabel's curiosity was piqued. Judging

from Alyssa's reaction just now, she obviously met this mysterious man before.

"It's better that you don't know. But I owe you for this; I'll pay you back in the future, Isabel!" Alyssa's

eyes glistened.

"Commander in Chief Mu, I'm flattered!" Isabel blushed.

"I'm serious. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have heard from the most important person in my life,"

Alyssa said gratefully.

"Commander in Chief Mu..." Isabel didn't know what to say.

"Is he at the Heavenly Rain Valley now?" Alyssa continued.

"Yes." Isabel nodded.

"Then please send him a letter for me—in secret, of course. It's not convenient for me to see him for

the time being," Alyssa said after thinking for a while.

"What? I beg your pardon?" Isabel was stunned. Was she some kind of messenger now?

"Is there a problem?" Alyssa asked, brows knitted.

"No, it's just..." Isabel's voice trailed off. Everything about this situation was strange. After all, Alyssa

was the commander in chief of the spiritual race, whereas Rocky was part of the human army. How did

they know each other?

"This is very important to me, and to the entire spiritual race, too," Alyssa said seriously.

"I see." Isabel nodded again.

Alyssa then proceeded to compose a secret letter. When she was done, she handed it to Isabel with

the instruction to deliver it to Rocky in secret. After completing this task, Isabel would be able to go

back to the original camp to rest, until her next order came.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield, all of Tucker's soldiers were receiving rewards by the

two-class merits for their contribution in defending the Heavenly Rain Valley. Unfortunately, however,

the work didn't end there and they still had to guard the Heavenly Rain Valley.

However, the good news was that the spiritual race's army seemed to have no intention of attacking the

Heavenly Rain Valley any time soon, so at the very least, they could finally live in peace for a few more

days.
