Rocky knew that the old witch was far stronger than him, so the only way that he could win in the

situation was by tricking her.

"Madam, although I'm not your lover, I actually know where he is!" he lied convincingly with a friendly

smile.

"You do?" asked the old witch in a hoarse, shaky voice.

"Of course! In fact, he asked me to come and get you. That's why he disguised me like this so that I

could lure you out," Rocky added, nodding sincerely.

"Then, tell me! Where is he?!" the old witch asked Rocky eagerly.

"He is staying with the Di Clan!" Rocky randomly guessed and figured that he could mention the Di

Clan just to try his luck.

"You mean he is still in the Di Clan? If it weren't for that hateful clan's interference, I wouldn't have

ended up like this. All the members of the Di Clan deserve to die!" the old witch growled with a

ferocious look.

Rocky maintained the blank expression on his face, but he was really surprised to hear that the old

witch's lover was a member of the Di Clan. It seemed like he had a lucky guess.

He started connecting the dots at the back of his mind, and a thought suddenly took hold of him. He

immediately asked, "By any chance, madam, did you steal a treasure called the 'Army-blessing Scroll'

from the Di Clan that year?"

"That's right. They refused to let me be with the man I love, so I stole their most valuable treasures to

get back at them. However, I didn't expect that they would relentlessly chase after me, and even forced

me to hide in the Sky-suppressing School, which made offended the members of the said school. That

is all the Di Clan's fault! Once I get out of here, I will kill them all!" The old witch was enraged. It was

evident that she had maintained a deep grudge against the Di clan after all the years.

"Well, that's why I'm here. I'm going to help you get out of here," Rocky assured her.

"Really? But a spell has been cast on my body so that I can't leave the Spiritual Sea Region. I can only

escape if I abandon my body here and escape on a different body. However, I tried doing that countless

times over the years, but I have never succeeded. I can't seem to transfer all my soul or spiritual sense

to another body. Those countless tries have broadened my knowledge, so I know now that if I want to

transfer my soul and spiritual sense, I have to find a young girl who can withstand my strength and

talent. In my opinion, that girl in your arms is definitely the best candidate..." The old witch stared at

Carla with undisguised greed in her eyes.

"I'm afraid you can't do that. This girl came with me to look for your lover. If you take her body, she

won't be able to live." Rocky hastened to find an excuse so that the witch wouldn't go after Carla.

"But if you are really here for me, you should be ready to sacrifice yourselves. Or, perhaps, you were

lying to me just now?" Evidently, the old witch wouldn't be that easy to fool.

"If I were lying to you, how do you suppose I know that you stole the Army-blessing Scroll?" replied

Rocky calmly. He spoke so confidently that the old witch began to hesitate.

She studied him suspiciously, so Rocky frantically thought of something else to offer her.

"If you want to leave the Spiritual Sea Region, I have another way," he suggested, hoping to tempt her.

"What kind of way?" The old witch seemed to fall onto his trap, and she leaned over willingly to hear his

answer.

"I can send you into another space where the spell won't reach, so your body won't be restricted,"

revealed Rocky with an earnest look on his face.

"Is that true? You're not lying to me, are you?"

The old witch narrowed her eyes at him suspiciously. "If you don't believe me, you can kill me now, but I

promise you will regret it if you do so." Rocky continued to appeal to her.

"You may be telling the truth, but there's also a chance that you are lying to me. It would be really bad

for me if you are tricking me!" the witch retorted. Rocky struggled not to let a displeased frown show on

his face, seeing as the old witch couldn't be easily tricked.

"Fine, if you doubt me so much, I guess I can stay. But you must let my companion leave," he offered

as a compromise.

"No, I won't allow that. She can't leave," the old witch firmly answered. She knew that Carla was her

only way out. So if Rocky was trying to deceive her, she would at least have a chance.

"If that's what you want to do, then I won't stop you. But I will do my best to protect my friend and help

her leave this place. Do you want that? Do you want to lose your only hope of leaving the Spiritual Sea

Region?" Rocky said resolutely.

"You..." The old witch didn't expect that Rocky would be so persistent, which made her hesitate for a

moment. If he could truly get her out of the Spiritual Sea Region, she certainly couldn't miss the

opportunity. However, if he were lying to her, then she would get nothing in the end. After all, it had

taken her decades before she could find a person that suited her requirements, and Carla was the only

one who fit her qualifications.

"Please think it over," Rocky uttered calmly once again. He appeared relaxed on the outside, but the

truth was that he was incredibly nervous. If the old witch didn't yield, he would have to fight her to

protect Carla.

"You should just leave me here. She won't let me go," Carla suddenly said. She could tell that Rocky

was trying to deceive the old witch, so she was worried that he would end up in trouble. She didn't want

Rocky to risk his life for her sake again.

"Silly girl, there's no way I'll leave you behind and run away alone. I'm not that kind of guy. I promise I

will get you out of here," Rocky reassured her. He knew that the seemingly easy promise could cost his

life, but even so, his morals dictated that he had to ensure Carla's safe passage.

"You..." A warmth curled in Carla's chest like a tight hug on a stormy night. Rocky's words touched her

and made her feel safe, and it took away the paralyzing fear she had been feeling earlier. She was no

longer frightened that she would die there, and she couldn't help but stare at Rocky admiringly.

"Brat, I have been deceived so many times in my life that I can't even believe the man I love. That's

why I can't believe you either. She must stay until you take me out of the Spiritual Sea Region!" In the

end, the old witch was too cautious to believe Rocky.

Rocky's eyes narrowed as well when he heard that, but he had expected from the start that she

wouldn't easily believe him.

"I understand why you can't believe me. However, you leave me no choice. If you don't trust me at all,

then let's stop wasting time and just fight this out!" He spoke with steel in his voice and fire in his eyes

as he straightened his back and stood firmer, showing no sign of weakness.

On the other hand, the old witch burst into laughter when she saw that Rocky was preparing to fight

her. "Brat, you are really daring, but with your strength, I'm afraid you can't even withstand one of my

moves!" she cackled.

"We'll see about that!" Rocky sneered arrogantly.

"Stop bluffing. With your strength, it would be impossible to stand a chance against me!" the old witch

reprimanded him intently.

"Okay, let's make a bet then. If I can resist your succeeding attack, will you let my friend go?" Rocky

challenged the old witch with a cocky expression on his face.

"Ha! Don't be stupid. One attack from me, and you will die!" the old witch retorted with disdain.

"We won't know if you don't give it a try! In fact, you might not be able to do that!" continued Rocky,

smirking at the witch confidently.

"You arrogant brat! Here, take my palm attack!" Rocky's words seemed to anger her. All of a sudden,

red and black evil energy rose all over her body and spread out, which made the flowers and plants

around them wither instantly. Any ordinary man who saw that would have run away trembling in fear,

but not Rocky.
